In my opinon The Last Of the Mohicans has one of the best music scenes in any movie. See it performed live here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FGxdBzjuGw

Once upon a time in the west

Once upon a time in America.

That is all I have to say...

I also love Last of the Mohicans.

Also James Horner's score from The Missing.

My absolute favourites are the three from LOTR by Howard Shore. I think the deal was sealed here after watching him conduct two live orchestra performances of the soundtracks at the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. Had me in simultaneous tears and goosebumps.

Also like Rosza's score for Spellbound and Jarre's Passage To India.

Pretty much anything by Ennio Morricone, but particularly Once Upon a Time in the West, although my favourite of his pieces is Gabriel's Oboe from The Mission.

The Lord of the Rings score is beautiful too, as is quite a bit of the score to The Godfather

The love theme from Spartacus.

When the music plays it's like a warning that your heart strings are about to be pulled.

Lots of good choices, the one I keep coming back to is 'Witness'. The score by Maurice Jarre is just haunting. I've noticed this about Peter Weir's films, the music is always great.
