I don't know if it was just my disappointment as I was very much looking forward to the jive, but I was distinctly underwhelmed by the dances this evening. I wouldn't go so far as to say it wasn't worth watching, but it did lose some of its shine for me.

I was referring to the way it was presented. All they needed to say was that she had been taken ill and was not dancing, and leave it at that. Not have a long overwrought VT of her crying and being taken off in a wheelchair and an interview with the medic.
Her dancing or not isn't an issue. The show making a big thing of it just, IMO, gives the haters more fuel for their fire.”

I don't agree, Kat. There is a perception that 'fainting' is what overwrought Victorian ladies do when their corsets are too tight, so it is right and proper that Strictly should report that Natalie was not dancing on medical advice. Indeed, it was Artem who added the fact that she was being monitored in hospital - Tess didn't mention that important fact.
Frankly, if haters are going to moan that Natalie is making a mountain out of a molehill, all the more reason to stress that it was a doctor's decision, not hers.
