Yeah. White Collar for sure. Perhaps Major Crimes and The Closer. Scandal and Revenge as well.

I've just found this on Sky Demand. I'm on season 1 episode 2 at the moment.

From the shows on your op you might like Longmire.

Thanks ChrisE, I like the look of Longmire, so I'll give it a whirl. Just finished Ray Donovan S1….the TV equivalent of crack! LOL

Is there some reason you've eschewed Breaking Bad so far?

Hi Simon

I did try Breaking Bad…..only 1 or 2 episodes. It didn't immediately hook me and I do realise I am in the minority. Perhaps I will give it another try…….

The first season is only 6 episodes and most shows take more than 2 episodes to develop. It sounds like you didn't give it a fair go. You could quite easily watch the whole first season in just 3/4 hours.

How did we get 13 posts into this response and no one, as yet, has mentioned The West Wing. (Okay, I just mentioned it.)

Seriously, good series.

I can't see the connecting thread in the series you listed, so I'm just going to throw things out there that I've enjoyed, even if the particular show didn't last more than a season or went down hill later.

Gilmore Girls (which includes Matt Czuchry from The Good Wife from Season 5 onward, playing Rory's boyfriend, Logan)
Veronica Mars, especially Season 1
Lois and Clark, The New Adventures of Superman, especially Season 1
Chuck
Keen Eddie (which ran only 13 episodes and was set in U.K.)
Pushing Daisies
Lonesome Dove ( with Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall, not a series but a miniseries but still excellent)
Wiseguy, especially first couple of seasons
Moonlighting, especially Season 1

The Americans (there's only been one series so far so wouldn't be too hard to catch up on)
Haven
Warehouse 13

Yes, definitely give The Americans a try. It is a cracking show with the added bonus of Margo Martindale (Mags in Justified) at her villainous best.

Well, I hooked from the start

I've never known a show like it. So many wonderful characters, and so many excellent actors portraying them. I can't recommend it highly enough

laydit, I too did not like Breaking Bad. You're not alone.

The Bridge - The US version of the Danish show Bron is a rarity in that it has genuinely improved a good premise. Setting the location on the US/Mexico border, the greater cultural shock between the two countries makes for a richer environment and, I believe, has greater potential for future stories.

Giving Charlotte her own storyline was a big improvement. She never had a purpose in the original and the writers eventually swept her under the rug, seeming to hope the audience would forget she ever existed. In the original show Stefan and Daniel were at least properly "written out," but I think the US producers were wise to keep them around to be in the next season.

Trsut me - brilliantly gripping television and criminally underrated.

Once Upon A Time

when my brother told me about it I was like oh right, three months later he made me sit down and watch the first episode and then with a matter of weeks I had watched the first two series.
