Too many gaps tonight.

If he is, he'll be giving his judging opinions to Wilnelia, telling her "jokes" and saying how much better the show is without him - that last part is fantasy.

Ah, so legends are only actors/actresses or singers??????

50+ years in show business, presenting the biggest show on Saturday night TV in his mid-eighties, not many can profess to that!

He's a true legend of TV, and I'm not sure why so many of you are so hung up on it. Ageism, probably.

Why do those who are losing the argument about whether or not Bruce is past it, a legend, e.t.c. always resort to claims of ageism?

Why? He cant cope doing one show a week. He needs to retire and let someone else do the job.

Why the BBC pay him huge amounts of money to do one show a week and then he not turn up cos he's tired is beyond me

What is the reason then? Most seem to link to ageism.

Not at all. I give you the legendary David Attenborough.

Age 87.

Tess is better than Brucie in the main presenter role - much slicker. Claudia is better than tess in her usual role - more natural. Can we have this combo every week please?

Ageism is wanting to get rid of someone purely because they're old. The reason most want him to retire is that they get fed up with fluffed lines, rambling, unfunny "jokes", inane interruptions to judges comments, bad temper, insults that are presumably supposed to be funny and not admitting that you can't do the job properly. None of those are directly linked to age.

The show moves along much, much better on weeks when Brucie is not there, it really does!

I really enjoyed the show this week. It could have something to do with not having to see or hear Mr. Forsyth still missing his lines even with an autocue, and coming up with comments that just aren't funny.

Poor Bruce just can't win. People complain when he's presenting. When he has a week off they complain that it's terrible he's not there and he should be doing all of them. for goodness sake, if you don't like him them when he is off pleeeeease give the rest of us a break from the whingeing!

Personally speaking I think it's a much better show when he's not there. I don't wish the man ill, I just wish he wasn't on the show at all. I watch it in spite of his awful, naff presence.

He's a very wealthy old man who doesn't need the money.

It is the British public who deserve the sympathy for having to put up with the rubbish that he spouts every week.

Who has complained about him not being there and he should be doing all of them? All the posts I've read are happy he's not there, but do complain at the amount he's being paid for doing an incomplete job. If he can't do the whole series, he shouldn't do any of it.

It was lovely to be able to watch the whole show live.
Have more time off Bruce!

We have as much right to complain about the old fool as his deluded followers have to sing his praises.

I like him and he isn't going to be around forever so we should enjoy him while we can, and who knows whoever replaces him could be worse and we will be crying "come back Brucie" or maybe not

The show was far better without Bruce last night.
