Scooter
Am I the only person who thinks Gail is going to have an affair with Scooter. There doesn't seem to be any point to him otherwise.

Oooh no, I hope not!!!
That would be even worse than Sally and Ian! ![]() I think the point to him is to allow Sarah some happiness this year. Although the media/press do keep going on about how nice Gail thinks he is, and I also read recently about how Scooter becomes uncomfortable with Gail chatting to him whilst he's working on Beth's pond so it does sound like they might be working towards some kind of big storyline? Nah, they wouldn't do that to Sarah would they?! Laura xx |

I actually thought about this too, but really its too soon after the whole dramas Sarah went through last year. I know this is a soap and all, but Sarah's had enough trauma and should go a whole year without having yet another trauma that directly involves her.

i think the story is going to bring David out as a rasict, when scooter went for the meal, he was going upstairs, when he nearly stood on the kid (another trauma for the child!!!) he picked her up, and then the shot went trough to the livingroom from the kitchen, and David gave him a "dirty look"
can`t think of anyother story for scooter, he kisses S-L sleeps with S-L then what? |

I think at first Scooter is just going to get the wrong impression about Gail, she'll be trying to make him comfortable and he begins to think she's interested. Other than that, he's here to bring Sarah a bit of happiness and, as we get to know him better, no doubt they'll be more for him to do. He'll gradually get to know the rest of the street and I presume there's other family members/friends that could arrive as well. I quite liked him from first impressions, hasn't done a lot yet, but comes over as a nice bloke still feeling uncomfortable with his new girlfriend's family. At the moment he's getting a typical low key Corrie entrance, which normally works very well.

What ever you think about Scooter and Sara, it will not work out because Coronation Street and Eastenders do not have inter-racial relationships that work (that I know of). They start to bring them in and then show them fail, as if to say that relationships between different races do not work - but we in the real world know differently

I did think that the way he goes on about "I got it off the skip" and "I work on the skips". I wonder if he OWNS the skips, or perhaps his father and that he really is a nice guy, only rich!!

Inter-racial relationships are more common than having a murderer on every corner of a place the size of walford

I agree that most soap couples break up purely because of the high turnover of characters and actors, regardless of race/sexuality. I was trying to think of interracial couples in the soaps, and most of them just ran their course rather than breaking up because of "issues" - Michelle Fowler/Clyde Tavernier, Della & Binnie (gay and interracial!!!), Eric & Dee Pollard, Steve McDonald/Fiona etc

As Cilla is quite obviously from another planet, does that make her relationship with les inter-racial?

Robbie and Nita in Eastenders. They lasted, they were written out but they lasted. Technically.
