Scooter arrived with a garden pond for the Platt's garden. Gail pulled Sarah to one side to ask whether she has thought about safety, and sarah got the wrong end of the stick and said they'd use protection because she wouldn't want to be getting pregnant again.

I bet Gails face was priceless then?!

Possibly the crucial bit you missed out there was that after both looking surprised at the gift of the pond, Sarah asked Gail if it was OK if she stayed at Scooter's that night...then they go in the kitchen etc. etc. So, since Sarah had just mentioned staying over, she had that on her mind while Gail was still thinking about the pond.

I bet that Candice is green with envy knowing that Sarah is being driven about in a Skip lorry.
