Well that's one thing to be grateful for at least.

BIB: How do you know?

Sorry, the form of words just made me chuckle.

I think he certainly could dance if he were taught to do so.

But Iveta and Karen don't seem to have knocked themselves out with dance instruction. It's been all costumes and choreography. Fine. But not at the expense of teaching them what to do with their FEET.

sorry, have to cancel my remark as it could be misunderstood.
I am concerned about the strain that Strictly is putting on both knees: as any footballer would tell you, they are not to be mucked around with..

Well, it was an attempt at humour, with a grain of truth, (I'm not into smilies).

Mark seems to be a strange mixture of someone who can move well and therefore dance well, but has great difficulty learning technique.

In his CCC he did do some CCC steps but did them badly.

He's a great actor and Iveta has used his plus points to put together the Tango, 'Salsa', CCC and the Waltz which I think the choreography was good for but the underlying problem was there.

After 6 weeks, the judges are being allowed to emphasise faults in some of the celebs to start manipulating the 5 the PTB want in the semi-final. Mark isn't one of the 5.

Most people seem to agree that it was pretty bad so I can't understand why Craig marked it higher than Ben and Kristina's jive. He gave Ben a 4 and Mark a 5. At least Ben did some dancing even if it wasn't great. I don't know what Craig saw in Mark's dance that was better than Ben's.

Much as I have enjoyed most of his routines, I think the story and character this week was ill judged. Rumba needs fluidity and any attempt at humour, itself ill- advised IMO, at best should have been pathos; the Goldfinget character afforded neither.

I think the person who queried you thought you were suggesting there was no Bond film called Goldfinger.

The BBC must have wanted to work in the cat, as Goldfinger was also bald and fat, and Iveta could have dressed up as Oddjob.

Here's some trivia: Ian Fleming wrote the original Bonds and also Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Goldfinger was played by Gert Frobe who also played Baron Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Cubby Brocolli produced CCBB as well as the Bond films. Incestuous or what?

Still an odd move by the BBC as Goldfinger and Blofeld have diddly squat to do with each other.

Agree with all you say, but Goldfinger wasn't even bald so the diddly squat comment is even more appropriate. I really do think this bizarre idea helped to put him in the bottom two.

That was ghastly.

Even worse than the ChaCha-less, sub Hammer spoof ChaCha and the Paso-less, sub Saturday Night Fever Spoof Paso, there was no movement at all despite what Craig laughably said.

There's only so far doing spoofs of other dances will get you. Surely.

I think you have made it clear in the past that you dont like Mark but he is quite popular on here. I agree his rumba wasnt very good but he can dance as was proved when he did a waltz a couple of weeks ago.

I've just watched the results show this morning - it's an interesting perspective when you already know the outcome and have read the comments on DS.

The rumba was always going to be a nightmare dance for poor Mark. If he played it straight, he was going to look like an old lech so I can see where Iveta was coming from, trying to give him a character to work with.

As of him not dancing much, well, that's par for the course for most of the male rumbas, but at least his arms (if not his hands!) were very fluid and expressive.

Dave on the other hand just walked/stomped the whole way through his paso. I saw no dancing ability there whatsoever, so I think the DO decision was the right one.

Hopefully Mark can put this behind him and move on. He's still one of my favourites.

I also REALLY didn't like what Iveta was wearing, I felt that was pretty shameful pandering.

I think he was just paralysed by embarrassment at having to do that stuff.

I think you have hit the nail on the head there. Even for an actor it must have felt most uncomfortable. Lets face it he never does sexy in any of his roles. Nobody likes to watch a middle aged big guy do that sort of thing. Poor Mark.
