Yes. That's why I think that the (semi) finals should have no professionals with celebs dancing with other celebs.

Or maybe an off shoot show with past winners.

Maybe even ITV could do it with past finalists of dancing shows.

It would freshen things up if your idea were included for a single dance for an extra challenge at the semi-final or final stage. I wouldn't mind at all if it replaced the showdance. It could be a wonderful car crash

or just plain wonderful. But it's asking a lot of the celebrities to have learned and internalised the basics so well as to freely interpret music themselves. We could end up with a lot of modern-looking poppy steps in place of recognisable dances. (And then were Pasha still in the comp, I'd resent like hell seeing him sit on, instead of shaking, his patootie.)

It would be a telling challenge though

There;s little in it on the record. Patrick has had teh higher score one week more.. But Ashley is still ahead in overall points scored. The only basis for Craig's claim is that Patrick has the current momentum after two favourable dances for him and points being thrown at him for the last two weeks - including a ten for almost dropping his partner .Its just not a credible conclusion. Ashley, however, also has momentum upwards and hasn't fallen below 30 since week 2. Both have some decent dances left to make an impression with - Patrick should suit the Charleston, and Ola won with one.

Scores are. rightly, only part of the story. The audience doesn't score, we vote and do so on how a celeb has made us feel during and after a performance. It's an immediate thing which is why, during earlier shows especially, our 'favourites' change week on week.

The judges are always a little down on contestants who don't put in the hours - and they have no mercy, not considering 'day job' schedules to be an excuse. The fact that the older of the two men is undoubtedly the most improved of all the contestants is probably why he seems a little on the 'teacher's pet' side (as opposed to it being the corporation he works for), but wanting to see improvement is one thing both judges and audience have in common.

This needn't be an either/or fan war. Statistically, neither men have a chance of winning. Patrick because he is outside the winning age range and Ashley, well I don't think anyone who can only manage a dozen hours training a week has ever lifted the trophy? Enjoy them while we can, I say.

Patrick seems to got into his stride.
His AS last week was pure dancing joy - wonderful and uplifting.

Good points from Sid and DiamondBetty with which I concur. Patrick has more sympathy for dancing than Ashley and is steadily bringing his personality to the fore. I couldn't agree more about Anya and her choreography.

I hadn't noticed that Patrick looked proud but that must go hand in hand with increased confidence and newly discovered enthusiasm.

I would love Patrick and Anya to make the final. They along with Susanna and Kevin and Natalie and Artem would be my dream finalists with Mark and Iveta finishing in fourth place. I prefer Mark to Susanna but I love Kevin! I know I'm probably dreaming ...

I think technically Patrick is the best make dancer but he doesn't touch my heart when he dances so I'm finding it hard to care about him. I guess the producers will hope to have one male dancer in the final and at this stage Patrick seems to be the best candidate.

I agree I like him very much and it would be great if a 50 year old man won - it won't happen but it would be great. I had him down as my this is the one who will have me throwing things at the tv if when he's evicted - I hope to be proved wrong.

Hard to tell if he's a better dancer than Ashley - both are good.

I did feel Craig slipped up a bit there and you could tell Ash didn't like it. However not as badly as Len.

It's interesting because hubbie felt that Anya made no attempt to dance down to Patrick's level during their ccc - and he said he noticed how good she was rather than him. However it could be regarded as a compliment on Anya's part that she had enough confidence in Patrick's ability to hold his own that she felt she didn't need to downgrade her own performance.

Sorry I just cannot take to Patrick at all and have no interest in seeing him dance. Ashley and Ben have so much more personality about them and a real likeability - something Patrick is devoid of.

Would really not like to see him win
