Fiona
Fiona may not be the 'best' dancer there, but she is far from the worst. I felt tonight was possibly her best dance and she is improving. I felt she was convincing in her dance tonight. May not have been a mind blowing dance, but it was good.
This week and last week I felt she has been criticized and marked unfairly. Last week they were calling issues that just didn't exist. This week a similar thing. Thoughts? |

I think she is doing really well. However, I feel some of the judges feel she should be doing better. She is the best that Anton has had in a very long time and tonight bless him he muddled it up. I wonder which of the judges would have said about it before Fiona shouted it out. Poor Anton his latin is not his best and then he fluffs it
Feel sorry for him as he is my favourite.

Both Fiona and Ben looked about a 7 tonight and Craig is always likely to mark down from that. They both performed pleasant and enjoyable dances but neither actually looked good enough to be an 8.

I think Fiona is OK, but her days are numbered I fear.

Wardrobe and hair let her down last night
Her dress was shocking and she looked like Pat Butcher. She looked prettier on the VT when she was wearing no make up and her hair was messy!

I can't quite figure out the judges on Fiona. Last night they were basically saying she got things right and was making the right moves at the right times with the right shapes, was telling a good story, and did better than her partner. But that despite all that they didn't really like it, and I think struggled to constructively explain what it is that she's missing.
My suspicion is that it's simply the energy level and 'attack' of the dance. Whether from age or attitude or Anton, whilst I'm sure she's not "going through the motions" there is just somehow a lack of liveliness about the dances. Or is it charisma? Either way, I think it's meaning she's getting marked down more than the technical quality of her dancing is deserving and the fact it's not being explained well to her will probably stop her doing anything about it, even if she or Anton could. Shame, as I do enjoy watching Anton, both for the good and the bad! |

Nicely said and I agree.I think it is Anton's fans that are saving them.... obviously not dance fans....

It was appalling, and that fringe between her legs was just... Such a shame, because she normally looks amazing (we are, ahem, of an age and she puts me to shame). Quote:
Did seem a very odd dress to wear for most of the dance, not at all the usual flattering ones she normally gets. I suspect the cape should have come off at the end which is where Anton messed up.
I was distinctly underwhelmed by Fiona's paso, but given the above circumstances of Anton, Wardrobe and Hair all conspiring against her, she did a cracking job. |
