Absolutely Love Luke
I think he's really good. The ones who seem to be the favourites, Tamera and Sam Bailey, are in my opinion poor imitations of Beyonce or else really shouty. I love that Luke is a musician and I also really like his voice. I also think he's probably the most diverse act. Was shocked at how well he did at disco and big band. Also, his confidence had improved like crazy. He really owns the stage and has the best stage presence out of them all. I'd love him to do well. I fear though that they've got their plan for who they want to win and he's not it. I'm going to vote for him though. I think he's really good.

Personally I think they should do away with the themes every week and just let them sing whatever they want. I just think it's ridiculous that they're criticising people like Luke and Abi for not being able to do big band. It's so stupid, big band is so far away from what their normal style is. People like Luke and Abi probably won't get a chance to show half of what they're capable of during this competition. In the real world, there are very, very few artists who are capable of being able to be as versatile as X Factor acts are expected to be. It's ridiculous. Let them perform what they want each week so that we can see the sort of artist they would be if they won.

So do I, he made the best of a difficult genre for him.
Though I agree with Gary he was behind the beat but then it not his scene. |

We need soul, jazz, dance or just let them be themselves. |

Luke was my least favourite in the beginning and the contestant who I thought least deserved his place in the live shows.
But after a shaky start, he started to do well and I thought there was something to him. I think Moondance was a gift of a song for him and expected him to sail through with it, but I was wrong - he made a horrible job of it. The comment about him being with the beat rather than behind it was spot on and made the performance sound very amateur - the concept should be pretty simple to a real musician and I am left wondering once again about his ability and aptitude as a musician. Having Louis as mentor is probably a disadvantage here for him - I'm pretty sure Gary or Nicole would have put him straight. But surely they get more help during the week from other musical bods and not just their mentors? |

Not his best night by any means but he at least makes an effort to do more than sing the notes, unlike the other young ones, he seems to have mastered the ability to put some emotion into a performance, I think it separates him from nicholas for me, and whilst nick is a technically better singer, even tonight I thought Luke was the more pleasant one to listen to. I hate singing by numbers.
As I said in the live thread, I saw Van Morrison sing that song in ronnie scott's in 1971, he's not the best vocalist in the world himself, but hes a great performer. Luke's not at that level obviously, but he is a performer, I hope he gets through this week. |

I have all enjoyed all of his performances and think he is really developing. Seems a very pleasant, thoughtful lad too.

. He doesn't sing by numbers, he has stage presence and his performance style is very dynamic. He's the only one I look forward to! |
