I've never really liked Gary but that was hilarious.

Yea that was my favourite moment of the night, doesn't even have to say anything, effortlessly scathing.

Sam DID clock on. He understood that Gary was being patronising. He was probably told by Louis that if Gary hasn't got anything good to say, he won't say anything

It was just so much better seeing the idiot thinking he was praising him!

Gary probably knows that if he outright criticizes Sam's performance he will be more likely to get votes.

Poor Sam. He's lucky he's good looking cause he can't sing and he's obviously quite dense.

Kind of a shame Gary couldn't be bothered to critique him properly. Not the biggest fan of Sam C but I think he at least deserved some constructive criticism!

I don't think rudeness is anything to applaud.
I have no desire to see Sam stay and would gladly see him leave tomorrow, but I am fed up with Gary's treatment of contestants he doesn't deem "worthy". His comments about "well done for enjoying it" and this were just patronising and rude. There's no need to try and humiliate the acts. Ugh. Even when Simon would be over the top rude and nasty you at least never felt like he was speaking with a superiority complex. |

He critiqued him last week and it caused a bounce.
If a member of the public is sitting watching and doesn't feel that Sam is the worst act left is senile |

I just hate hate how people, like the OP, find this "shtick" appealing. They shouldn't. I will never find humiliation entertaining.

If he doesn't critique him, he's humiliated. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. This is why people can't take comments like these seriously. Gary didn't even push the issue, it was Dermot and Carolyne who made a big thing of him not saying anything. |
