Favourites for ultimate EastEnders

TV viewers have named their ultimate EastEnders cast.

Fans of the BBC soap were asked to vote for their favourite characters to mark the show's 20th anniversary this month.

Cindy Beale, played by Michelle Collins, was chosen as the best ever bad girl. Scheming Cindy hired a hitman to kill husband Ian and ended up in jail.

Tiffany Mitchell, played by Martine McCutcheon, was named the soap's best ever babe, beating Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite).

Fans of the show would like to see Angie Watts (Anita Dobson) back behind the bar at the Queen Vic and evil Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns) back to terrorise Little Mo.

Unfortunately for EastEnders bosses, Tiffany, Cindy, Angie and Trevor have all been killed off. But the fantasy cast list compiled by readers of Inside Soap magazine does contain some characters who are still in the show.

Dennis Rickman, aka Nigel Harman, was voted the hunk viewers most want to see in Albert Square, and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) was their favourite barman.

Pauline Fowler (Wendy Richard) was voted best ever misery and Dot Branning (June Brown) was named best ever pensioner.

Kat and Alfie (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) were voted best ever couple, beating Den and Angie Watts and Grant and Tiffany Mitchell.

Viewers even voted for their favourite dog - Wellard triumphed over poodle Roly and Ethel's little Willy.

What do you think? I think they are good choices overall although Alfie and Kat being best couple I don't agree with. They had a great beginning but they were hardly together after that. Den and Angie were the best IMO.

I was just about to say I don't agree with Kat and Alfie being the best couple but I have been beaten too it- otherwise it seems ok though.

Im glad Tiffany got a mentioning- she was brilliant in EE and I wish they could have brought her back from the dead instead of Den!

NOOO. I've never liked Michelle Collins. I don't like the way she speaks or her mannerisms, in anything she has done. I'm not sure who else I would prefer to get this vote though.

and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) was their favourite barman.
Well, it's not like there's many to choose from really is there?(Or have I forgotten about them all)

Yeah Kat and Alfie are not best couple. Den and Angie are and they are the most famous in soap history too.

I thought Wicksy was a better barman than Alfie. There hasnt been that many though. I can remember Lofty as well behind the bar.

I agree with your disagreeing

If the qualifications for a couple was at least 5 years together on the programme, would anyone qualify ?
