Zoe mentioned the discussions on the forums about traditional music, so the producers are aware of it.

I'm sure all most people want is for them not to ignore it completely but at least give us a 60%/40% split between modern/traditional . Or even 70/30 or 80/20 .

Surely 4 songs out of 12 could be traditional .

I know! I got quite a shock when she mentioned to Brendan, who had just said on ITT last night, that he did not like using modern music and wanted to dance the Quickstep to traditional music, and Zoe replied that it was a hot topic on the forums at the moment!
So I take back what I said earlier in this thread about them not caring. I must learn that just because you don't get a reply on Twitter it doesn't mean the person didn't actually read the tweet you sent!

Good to know they are taking notice, and it's sad when celebs and pros aren't happy with the music they are given, as Mark said he and Ivetta weren't with Goldfinger for their Rhumba last week. It's obvious that the Pros don't choose all their music and are just 'given' tracks sometimes.
How can a celeb grasp the style of a dance or the Pro be inspired to choreograph their best if they're not sympatico with the music?

At least some of the choices this week seem much more suitable - maybe cos it's Blackpool? - and hopefully we'll see some great dancing!

The last people to whom the producer will listen over the choice of music, have got to be the professionals.

All SCD needs is some balance in the music and at the moment its predominantly, if not all modern .

It's an absolute disgrace to have Latin dances and not to have any Latin music .”

I agree -

Some that spring to my mind are;
"The More I See You" by Chris Montez ( for Cha-Cha-Cha)
" Casino Royale" by Herb Alpert ( fast Cha-Cha-Cha)
" You'll Never Get To Heaven " by Dionne Warwick ( Rhumba)

and, considering we hear so many repeats of songs used before on Halloween week, they've really missed a trick by not including "Spooky" by Dusty Springfield for a rhumba. That song was written for rhumba.”

Unfortunately it was kinda of wasted on Nancy Dell'usional a couple of series back - don't worry though it's time will probably come again.

Spooky by Dusty Springfield mentioned earlier has a rumba beat, so has And I Love Her by The Beatles. Traditional or modern songs are fine, as long as the beat and tempo are correct for the dance. Brendan and Sophie are doing a QS to Lady Is A Tramp this week which is perfect, Patrick a samba to Copacobana so all is not lost ”

BiB; I absolutely agree with this,Shonuff.
It's something whoever is responsible for music choices on SCD have completely disregarded from the start.
In fact I would say it's the dance which has the most inappropriate music of all of them on Strictly.

I mentioned in my previous post ( when I was talking about 60s lounge music) "You'll Never Get To Heaven" by Dionne Warwick. Well, having now relistened to her version it isn't really the right rhythm and tempo, but this one by The Stylistics is perfect.

I can never fathom the music on SCD we have music at the studio that is the latest chart stuff but done in strict tempo (mainly for kids classes) and they are fine surely if the band on these cd's can do it Strictly can? a mixture of modern music suitable to be played at the correct tempo and old dance classics given a modern twist at the right tempo would be better all round for audiences and dancers
