Nicholas and Sam B worth a punt
Currently trading at 20 and 24 respectively to be bottom 2 (on Betfair).
Ella v James springs to mind One of these could be bottom 2. Nicholas was forgettable tonight |

Worth it if you're up for wasting your money.

Neither is the worst singer, but neither was Ella or James last year |

Not both, but surely one might be bottom 2?

I don't vote, so the money I save on that, I like to gamble. Think they are overpriced.

Sam and Nicholas are no Ella and James, though.

No ways, Sam B definitely NOT.
However, Nick I have a feeling he is losing support - only because he's giving very forgettable and neutral performances, especially this week when the theme was meant to make him shine? Something which Hannah and Tamera did on the weeks of their B2 appearances (personally thought Skyfall and Wishing on a Star were amazing but can see why mainstream audiences wouldn't like them). |

Maybe not in style of singing, but in terms of "shock to see then in bottom 2", yes they are

Shock? Maybe. But in terms of it actually being a possibility? No. Not at all.
I'm not saying bottom 2 combo, but one could be bottom 2 |

Abi is hot favourite to go tomorrow but as its clear that her and Sam C are in the firing line to go, their supporters vote extra hard to try to keep them in. The acts that are clearly very good may just suffer from people thinking that they don't need their vote because they are bound to be safe. This is pretty much what happened to Tamera last week so I don't expect to see her back in the bottom two.
The ones who I think could be bottom two are rough copy. Despite the judges praise, I don't think they've been brilliant since week 1 and I wonder if they have enough appeal to the type of people who are likely to make up the majority of the voters. Of course, they'd probably be saved unless they were against Sam b or Tamera. |

Your reasoning for not a possibility at all?
I'm not saying bottom 2 combo, but one could be bottom 2 Both very unlike James and Ella who (especially in Ella's case) had been losing momentum before their bottom 2 appearance and didn't tick anywhere near as many boxes as the Nicholas does. Look at Leon, Joe, Marcus, Jahmene, Ray and Eoghan: what do they all have in common with Nicholas? (Hint: I've already mentioned them in this post). |

Because it's very likely that both are storming the votes. Nicholas because he's just the perfect type of contestant for the average X Factor voter (young, cute, likeable, inoffensive, good singer etc) and Sam because she's gaining more and more momentum as the show is going on. She's also the type of contestant that usually makes to to around 4th (Nikki, Tesco Mary et al), but she actually has an added edge which may be enough for her to win.

Case of "he's safe, he doesn't need votes" Plus nick was forgettable today. Grannies might not be as active in the vote today. |

If there is no possibility, want to give me odds of 1000 on Betfair of either being bottom 2 then?

They were all incredibly ordinary actually. Except Joe (who an interesting tone) and Jahmene (who's vocals were madly good). But that's it, the public just loves an ordinary toneless vocal - that is the brute truth of it. Also Ray and Marcus were not as big in the votes as any of the rest of them.
Neither of them were in the bottom two, all of them bar Eoghan made the top 2 and two of them even won. Nicholas can rest easy tonight. |

That screaming mess that was his version of Imagine rather undermines that argument. The rest of his performances were not much better.

There is absolutely NO way Sam B will be bottom 2. Nicholas, however, maybe.

I actually had Nicholas and Sam B as definite top 3 acts and I would be surprised if either is bottom two tomorrow. Nicholas, despite being seen as 'boring' by some, is actually the best singer in the competition. Boring or not, he is pitch perfect.

I also think Nicholas is a good singer
But as the show has proven in the past, those you expect to sail through can sometimes slip into bottom 2 territory |
