Abi "boring" but Nicholas "fantastic"?!
I don't get the judges logic. Nicholas stands there every week and sings the songs in Karaoke fashion.
Abi gets called boring and uncharismatic and she actually bothers to change the arrangement and plays Piano and Guitar aswell as being a songwriter. I don't get it. even the Celebrity Panel was tipping her for bottom 2! Why does she deserve bottom 2 when she's the only original artist in the show? I think it's favouritism. |

Exactly it makes absolutely no sense. Abi was beautiful and brilliant tonight! She showed she was versatile but she is clearly being lined up for the chop Janet D style.
Nick is incredibly dull and ordinary yet the show loves him...something is really confusing me about that? The performance tonight was also really awkward compared to Abi's yet he got all sorts of nice comments but Abi got a bit of an unwarranted comment. Her voice was heard over the Big Band Louis! |

Shame people are only just catching onto this in her last week in the competition.

The band were louder than her in the second half of her song - that's Nicole's fault - she was drowned out.

Totally agree. Abi is creative and emotive when she sings.
Nicholas is just dull and dated. |

Abi's originality isn't really in question - it's her quality.
She was drowned out by the band and shown up by her backing singers. |

Nicholas has a beautiful and expressive voice, but is being given dull songs.
Abi has a thin, reed-like voice, which only really works imo when she's doing the delicate flower thing behind a single piano or guitar. She also, quite often, sings out of tune. Having said that, I thought this week was her best performance so far. I think there's at least three candidates more likely to be in the bottom two this week. |

I agree 100%. Abi isn't my favourite in the show but I admire the fact that she is an artist and shows her creativity every week - whilst Nicholas stands there and sings by numbers. They're both ballad singers but i'd take Abi any day of the week as she's more interesting and shows a level of musicianship.

Abi is not original or very talented. She sings in the same weak, whispery tone every performance. She cannot sustain notes longer than 2 seconds before it trails or she goes off key. Her performance tonight was static and devoid of any energy. That's Life is supposed to be a rousing, cheeky anthem about a guy getting back on his feet after being down and out. She sang it with a vacant expression on her face.
Nicholas is an excellent singer actually. Don't hate on him because he's a producer/crowd favourite. His technical skills are among the best of all the contestants AND he actually gets the songs that he is singing about. Dream A Little Dream is almost a lullaby, the melody is very important and he made some really beautiful, clever changes here and there that were distinctive and appropriate to the song. People bang on about Abi's 'musicianship' and 'artistry' but actually Nicholas has shown more creativity in the smooth melodic changes he's made to his songs every week. I'm surprised that so many of the forumers on here who claim to be interested in 'uniqueness' and 'making a song their own' haven't noticed this. Probably not as good at listening for the finer aspects of music as they think they are |

Well I'm a musician, I play piano, saxophone, clarinet and drums. I also write my own stuff. But I can't sing for shit. |

Nicholas isn't excellent by any means. He is dull and has no mind for the music business beyond "Sing this song".
The X Factor is supposed to be about selling records and finding the next big star. Nicholas is just like Joe McElderry and Leon Jackson so why they would want another winner like them, I have no idea. Abi could make a good album. She can write and arrange the songs and I imagine she will sound even better in the studio. Sam Callahan will make the most money, he will win the competition IMO. He has got the look and charisma about him and he attracts to girls just like Olly and 1D. He doesn't need to sing Whitney Houston, he can get by on making some catchy pop songs. Abi and Sam Callahan have the most potential for me. |

You realize that's not due to him but rather the arrangement he was given?
