How do we make a complaint?

Hi

I'm new-ish here and not the most tech savvy person but I really want to send a complaint about the amount of spoilers on the board this morning but stopped myself adding to one of them as apparently that bumps it back up the page? I didn't want to increase the prominence given to it but want to register how annoyed I am about spoilers being posted as post titles.

I love coming on here at the weekend and reading everyone's thoughts about the dances and the music and the celebs and to vote in the poll but logging on just now has ruined the results show for me.

Any advice on sending a complaint would be great - SCD is only on for a few months and silly posts like the handful on this morning really spoil the fun.

Thanks, rant over!

Where the postername is there is an exclamation mark with alert next to it.

1) alert the offending post by pressing the alert button
2) go into Rules at the top and there's a drop down menu where you can send a message to the Forum support. They seem to be asleep this morning however as I know a lot of people have been alerting and complaining and messaging already this morning.
Good luck

And I seem to be repeating this morning a lot, sorry!

Hi,

You report the abuse by using the button to the left of the post.

But if it is any consolation the Official Spoiler thread is full of FMs seething that someone should be so inconsiderate. Those of us who participate weekly in the spoiler thread, keep it there - and there alone.

Many, many of us have reported Colgirls antics to the Mods this morning, and we can't undertsand why the threads have not been removed.

I quite agree with you. To make a complaint without posting in the thread just click the Alert icon in the box for that poster - it is at the left hand side. Once you have clicked that just post your complaint in the popup box and the mods will get it. That doesn't bump the thread.

Thanks very much! On it now.

You can realy only click the red Alert button in the left hand pane of the first spoiler message to tell the moderators so that they can remove the thread if they think it's appropriate.

Spoiler threads are allowed provided a prominent word SPOILER is at the start of the title and the actual spoiler isn't in the title. That means you don't see the contents of the thread if you don't open it.

On the Official SPOILER thread, there are loads of posters trying to get something done about Colgirls threads, and for them to be removed. We've tried bumping up other threads etc, to no avail.

It's so sad one person has to ruin the party for everyone else...

The best idea is not to post a reply on a spoiler and let it fade away on next page . By replying to other thread it will happen sooner .,

That's what several of us on the Spoiler thread have been doing, to try to get them relegated off page 1. Unfortunately, other people post again, and back it goes to page 1.

Use the 'alert' button you see beside a post; and if it's a clear spoiler from the outset (including the thread title), use the alert button on the very first post in that thread.

A new window will open, and you can explain why you're alerting the moderators to the post/thread. They'll look at it, and maybe remove it.

There was a thread earlier which was a clear spoiler from the title alone; I alerted the mods and now the whole thread is gone. Spoilers at this stage don't bother me, but once we get to Top 6 or so they would; however I u derstand other people want to remain unaware until the show airs.

Another idea would be to avoid here on a Sunday morning - those of us who don't mind spoilers can handle them on Sunday morning and those who wish to remain unaware can come in later to a spoiler-free zone!

You could also make a complaint to the BBC at http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/

It's their ridiculous policy of broadcasting the results nearly a full day later than they should do that makes it possible for people to read spoilers on the internet

I've alerted the mods several times and nothing has happened. At the moment her threads have gone onto page 2 because other posters keep bumping other threads but we shouldn't have needed to do this. Her threads should have been removed immediately (they were started over an hour ago) and she should have been banned until the end of this series at least.

If we keep bumping other threads hopefully her threads will go onto page 3 and no-one else will have their Sunday show ruined.

They need to have the show on Sunday or give the results on Saturday after a break.

So why is it a ridiculous policy? There's very little time for the results show in the Saturday night schedule and putting it on after 9pm would be too late for Strictly's family audience. Getting everyone back to do the results show live on Sunday would be hugely expensive and the BBC budget is such that they don't have the cash to throw away.

They managed perfectly well doing the results live on a Saturday night for many many years. They also managed it with The Voice earlier this year.

This forum, this morning demonstrates why it is ridiculous

How was it different when they did have the results on Saturday then? It was much better, done in half an hour, no filler and genuine tension. The couples lined up on the floor to get more critique..could be very funny, but then they HAD critique.

Because now the dance off exists there isn't time for it. The results show moved to Sunday nights once there was a family drama (Robin Hood, Merlin, DW, Atlantis) and Casualty to fit in. There's no longer time for the results show unless they dump one of those (which they won't) or the dance off (which wouldn't exactly be popular amongst the 'it should be a dance competition' pov - after all, no dance off would likely have seen Abbey out last week).

It's been this way since series 4 or 5.

I hate the results being recorded and shown later - I know te results are out there - so I have to go and find them out! However I would never dream of ruining it for anyone else like someone has done in here this morning

Really didn't want to know last nights result till the show tonight but it was in the title of the first thread I saw. Shame on you Colgirl. Will obviously have to stay off this site on Sunday's from now on.
