Any word on Natalie?
I feel like I should have heard something but maybe it was just a matter of getting better and nothing major?

![]() Seriously, I hope she is recovering. Am hoping that the symptoms indicate a virus rather than a recurrence of the back problem which could be more long term.

Ideally they could sneak an update into a voiceover if there was news and they wanted to. Won't happen though.
But the producers will want to milk this for all its worth in terms of its publicity value, so I don't expect any news of Natalie's continued presence on the show until towards the end of the week. Thursday would be my guess... ![]() ETA: BIB - totally off-topic, but this phrase is bothering me. I understand the grammatical difference between 'all it is worth' (the apostrophe replacing i) and 'all the worth pertaining to it' (with no apostrophe), but which is the correct phrase? Any Grammar Nazis out there? |

Will probably have to wait until ITT tomorrow to find out any more. Nothing on either Natalie or Artem's twitter.

Assuming the most likely explanation here - that she's merely been managing the symptoms of her back injury rather than resting her back for however long it takes for the injury to heal, and that she has now worsened the injury - I wonder if we might hear shortly that she's been advised by her doctors to retire from the competition, and that the couple eliminated this week will be reinstated.

Any Grammar Nazis out there? I consider myself more a Punctuation Pacifist than a Grammar Nazi, but Mr. Duckfeet, who is a Copy Editor, tells me that the phrase has the latter (i.e. possessive) meaning in this context and thus does not require an apostrophe. ![]() Also - very best wishes to Natalie - she would be sorely missed if she was forced to withdraw from the competition! |

They would be unlikely to go back and reinstate anyone (logistically, it could be difficult for both parties as well). More likely in that circumstance they would decide on no elimination in a following week.

They have either a double elimination in the semis (if all couples remain) or have a second semi final on finals night. If someone drops out then there is just a three couple final. |

If Natalie is indeed forced to withdraw, the standard of those who remain is such that the series will be in desperate need of some sort of injection. The controversy of a reinstatement might help. |

If Natalie has to withdraw I imagine it will have a drastic impact on the viewingffigures. I do hope she's OK and puts her health first.

I kept checking their twitters for update but no luck. I really hope she's taking these few days to rest up and will be all better for rehearsals and to perform next week. The show would seriously lack that amazing competitive dancing if she were to be forced out.
Of course I want her to recover as health should always come first.

I don't think it would make one iota of difference to the viewing figures.

They had plenty of time between the rehearsals and the main show to consider what Tess and Artem should say. I personally would have expected them to at least reassure us that the problem was NOT thought to be related to the back injury ..... |

For my money that was the most woefully sub-standard set of Week 7 routines since I've been watching Strictly. I'd have given Patrick an 8, and everybody else less than 8. Susanna's Waltz in particular was atrociously overmarked.

The latest from the BBC site says at 15:58 today
"Strictly Come Dancing contestant Natalie Gumede has been ordered to rest after being taken to hospital following a fainting episode during rehearsals. A Strictly spokesman said the former Coronation Street actress, 29, would see a doctor on Monday." Unless she makes a miraculous recovery, it isn't looking good that she will continue, cos she is losing a lot of rehearsal time. |

I just assumed she would do the Jive rather than learn something brand new and forego all the training shes worked hard at? Anyone? .
