Hi Guys.

Im looking for a mic i can use for online gaming.

I don't need anything flashy like 5.1 or anything, just a basic online communicator headset.

I have found the Turtle Beach P4C's which look exactly like what I'm after.

So before i decide, is there any like the P4C's that I'm missing and maybe wireless?

You get a free mono headset with the console you can use for chat, and if you want headphones, just plug a pair into the controller.

The mono headset is "In Ear" which i don't like.

So they will be staying in the box.

the free headset is also reported to make pound shop specials look good.

Has it been confirmed that any old 3.5ml Jack headset will work with the controller?

It's a free basic headset to get you started. Will do me fine for now.

If you have the XP500 with the dongle apparently you can use that and they should work from the off

As soon as the fix to allow wireless bluetooth headset compatibility comes around, I'll be dropping some cheddar on the official Pulse headset. Everyone says it's fantastic.

Ok, so i went with the P4C's and there to quiet, and looking at loads of other forums and Amazon reviews, I'm not the only one to think this, so has anybody else tried a bog standard mono chat headset apart from the bundled one?

Would rather have a over ear one.

I'm quite gutted that my official Sony Playstation Stereo headset does't work with the PS4. Mainly because it cost me just under 99 a couple of years back and also because it made gaming so much better with virtual surround sound. COD just isn't the same on TV sound.

Apparently a fix is coming in the new year, but when is anyone's guess.

The included earpiece is crap at best. It's uncomfy, it falls out of my ear and it gives me earache.

I've tried my iPhone headset. That works but makes me sound echoey and puts a whistle in the background for my friends. No use at all.

I'm looking for some in earphones with a mic built in. That's going to be my solution for now until Sony start to finish off the PS4 and make it a complete product.

Found a fantastic solution.

I got a pair of Skullcandy Supreme Sound Smokin' Buds. They're the 'in ear' type with a built in mic in the wire. Intended for use on a phone I suspect, but they work perfectly on the PS4.

The sound quality is great, you get proper stereo sound and they're comfy. What's more they're currently on sale in Tesco at 20 which isn't bad for a decent set of earphones.

I'm missing my Sony Playstation headset, but to be honest these Skullcandys are so good I'm not in such a rush to get my headset working any longer. I can live with these perfectly. I've stopped putting sound through my TV and just put it all through my earphones now. It's great to play COD with the ability to be able to tell where people are nearby to me just by listening again.

You have a link?

I'm also looking out for a pair of headphones, not looking to pay anything silly though but sadly the introduction prices of Turtle Beach PS4 headsets are a rip off.

I was looking at getting a pair of PX21's. Only 29 and work "straight out of the box" on a PS4 but I then found out my TV would need red and white audio out ports which it doesn't have. It does have an optical digital audio out though.

Anybody have any ideas? Looking for a pair of headphones that cover the ear (both ears) Must have a Mic that is PS4 compatible and not at a silly price.

Ok searching all morning and so far Im looking at these

Now the problem is they don't work on the PS4 yet. Sony are patching their headsets in January. So its wait and see at he moment. But wireless and 7.1 at 62.95, not to forget 5% cash back from Top Cash Back seems like a good deal.

Anybody had these on the PS3? Thoughts?

They were in the Tesco store itself. Not seen them on their website, but the in store sale had plenty in stock. Could try google I guess?

Still haven't found anything (Mono chat headset) so still using the one that came with my PS4.

Does the Skull Candy or the Microsoft one from Argos allow just voice chat and not game audio to come though the headset?

Also maybe interested in the Sony Pulse headset to for late night gaming

The skullcandy one works as the Sony one does. You can have just voice chat or set to all audio.

I set mine to full audio as the stereo sound makes cod easier to hear where people are around you. There's a mic built in to the wire on the skullcandy earphones too so it works fine.

I have the official sony wireless headset which used to work on the ps3 and will maybe one day work on the ps4. To be honest I'm just as happy with my skullcandy set now.

no, unfortunatly (well not really as i love them but you know what i mean) i have the PX5's. its the ONLY thing i can criticise the ps4 for atm, i do hope the update the system software at somepoint to allow bluetooth chat. ive connected them to the DS4 and got them working that way but i didnt buy them to have bloomin cables running out of them.

Sony stated they're going to release an update for their own headsets but there's no plans for third party Bluetooth headsets.

Seems Turtle Beach got some heat on the volume issue with the P4C and now released a rubbish video telling you how to set it up!!!!!

Honestly lol.

I think i may try the 7.99 Orb headset from Amazon. Seems to be on par with the bundled ear bud, but with the over ear design which i prefer.

Also will this upcoming PS4 update for headsets, make the official PS3 bluetooth headset work?

Sony stated Bluetooth headsets won't be supported but at the same time they said the official headsets would be. It reads as if the pulse and official stereo headset are the two referred to however, not the Bluetooth one.

I suspect the two USB headsets will eventually work. Not holding out on the Bluetooth one.

If you're getting a headset get a stereo one. The difference compared to a single mono earpiece is incredible and gives you a huge advantage on many games.
