It's character/esteem building dealing successfully with wind-up merchants and helps develop your own innate ignore function.

That's what I did last year but am fed up with all the bird droppings at the moment!

PS what does your name mean (if it has a meaning)? And you really don't want to know how I try to pronounce it in my head… probably all wrong. Gimme a clue, please

Sometimes with Teflon Rhinos it is safer for my blood pressure to ignore them. Especially when they talk like pointless innocent fluffy bunnies.

Thirty posts and not a mention of SCD.

Have I entered a parallel universe?

I have half a dozen or so on ignore. This is supposed to help my blood pressure, but I find my 'satiable cursiosity bubbling up and urging me to un-ignore so I can see what I would have got all het up about in the first place.

I wish I had the serenity of Pet Monkey, but I don't, so I remain in blissful ignorance...

Got there before me. Was only thinking the other day that nobody asked anymore and put it down to google translate.

Phonetically I guess it's Us-brid-uh-thounce (th as in this or that)

Hopefully not. It's a very useful thread to help promote pleasurable use of the forum, which is for many of us an integral part of watching Strictly Come Dancing.

Unsure about confusion - I thought the thread title was quite clear.

Google translate even pronounces the words for you. But some are better than others...

Thank you, I wanted to block someone for ages, but being a numpty could not figure it out on DS. Now I have ignored them the board looks much better.

I've been on DS for quite a few years now and I've never put anyone on ignore and I've had many a ding-dong on here that's for sure.

I read the threads I am interested in and if anyone says anything nasty I sometimes tell them or I just move onto to the next post.

I think I have developed a thick skin over the years. I suspect a few posters have me on ignore though

Thank you, and thank you to SCD-O too. I knew I was saying it wrong. I had lots of 'ee' noises in there somehow. It's a very good name

Yup, me too. I have been on for several years now, and up until this year, only ignored three folks. This last two weeks, I've added a significant number to the Ignore list as nasty and vile I get enough of during the day job. Not sure why this year is getting particularly nasty, just not willing to read it anymore.

I think the count is about 38 now, it is at times like this that if there were any slight temptations to try and join a pack being the hare or fox sounds much more preferable even though there is pain to suffer.

Or join the anti-hunting, veggie, wind farm lobby over here

I'm trying to be a veggie, but any anti hunting lobby here must be very well hidden as I haven't come across it yet, the folly of windfarms however seems obvious to me, although I haven't seen any turbine props on Strictly yet.

I love wind farms. They're surreal and strangely peaceful in the landscape. I think they should add some solar panels to the sails for good measure. What can go wrong?

I thought you were veggie? You put me onto Linda McCartney veggie sausages, which are clearly the Natalie of veggie sausages.

Don't get me going on wind farms! Those that want to force them upon usin the countryside, often call them "windmills."
A huge ugly wind turbine could not look anything less like a windmill.

Wind farms may be strangely peaceful in the lanscape from a distance but they don't tell you about the incesent humming sound or the strobe effect the blades cause on a sunny day when slightly closer, and the number of wind turbines that get blown over when the wind is to strong lol.

The Linda McCartny veggie sausages are amazing, I remember now giving you that introduction, I'm getting into corn veggie burgers too, but I can't quite cut out the eggs yet which is my bad.

I wonder if there are any vegetarians on Strictly Come Dancing? Please remember that this thread idea was not mine lol

But Pet I did give it away embedded in a post in another thread.

spirit of the dance

Maybe something like

espreed uh downs

EDIT

Ah. I see ysbryd y ddawns and SCD-O have replied already with

Us-brid-uh-thounce

So I'm not too far off but YYD has written it much better - I'm not Welsh you see but I have a language fetish.

I thought that the second "y" in "ysbryd" was a longer sound. But YYD is spot on as she should know

I love wind farms. I think these windmills are really elegant and beautiful. Wonderful lines

I love her veggie sausages and the burgers with mozarella. I also love wind farms as long as they don't put one in my back garden

I'm sorry you don't like them (and understand that they are divisive) and I certainly don't want to 'get you going' now you've warned me, but this generation has to find alternative safe energy. Wind, wave, sun... Harmless gifts from the planet. And have we properly investigated poo?

Maybe there's something that can be done with their design to get rid of the hum and the strobing, Terry. There certainly should be scarecrow-type warnings to stop birds flying into them. Or maybe they're in the wrong locations. Maybe their sail-like appearance works better aesthetically at sea

Poo Power sounds like the way forward to me.
