Exactly. Personally I cheered. I've never liked him and that dislike has grown into loathing

Awww what a lovely post . I totally agree with you. I know it may sound cheesy but I don't think it's necessarily just a job for these pros. They genuinely love it. I can't say the same for their American counterpart (Dwts).

Why bring nastiness to a nice tribute thread.

It was Daves time to go and he will be missed

I must admit I did shed a tear.

Like a lot of you I got rather teary too.

What a lovely relationship there was between Dave and Karen, and even though overall he was the worst dancer, I'm really sad to see him leave. Heartfelt speeches from both of them, too.

(I would have actually saved them over Mark based on this week's performance.)

It was also emotional to see Kevin hugging his fiancée at the end.

Glad to see the back of him.

No I didn't shed a tear but I thought Dave was very gracious and genuinely fond of Karen. I also thought Karen was obviously upset, and that it was nice to see Kevin supporting her. I love both Kevin and Karen but had wondered if she was too feisty for him, but they looked right together tonight.

Yes I found myself welling up, Dave comes across as a very nice chap, he has made me laugh and cry over the past weeks.

Hopefully Iveta will stop making Mark look like a fool and next week we will see him dance.

Yeah, I like Dave. I think he's a nice guy but it was his time. It's a shame such a touching send-off was ruined by Goodman, ironic last name that it is.

Dave gave his best, didn’t give in, enjoyed himself, had a worthwhile partnership with Karen and they gave some quite remarkable performances.

A wonderful contestant . Bravo and applause to Mr Hairy Biker Nice Guy for taking part and bringing diversity to bananas and custard and making quality telly. ”

That's the way to leave the competition.
It was a masterclass really.

I take it all the Daveonians will loose interest in the coming shows?

I did cry, thought the words they said to each other was heartfelt. Then when Kevin came on and hugged Them and stayed hugging Karen made me well up even more. My dog looked at me concerned.

She had probably never heard of him before the start of the series and must have known that they did not have a hope of winning but she obviously really enjoyed working with him and had lots of fun.

Yes I cried. Dave is a lovely guy and he should have gone through tonight. Mark's dance (well he hardly moved) was terrible and only Len had the guts to say that Dave should have gone through

I'm afraid not. Very glad to see him go. I didn't find his performances interesting and didn't find him particularly likeable (though not particularly unlikeable either). The right person left and for that I'm grateful.

Yes!!!!

I'm going to miss Karen and Dave, he was the worst dancer ever but he knew that, he gave 100% every single day and his relationship with Karen was adorable

My other half who is a gold medal dancer, leapt up from the settee and yelped with joy whilst waving his arms in the air.

Personally, I could not care less about it, although I will say that Dave did try his best.

They are obviously referring to all the fuss about the bullying/argument between Karen and Ola.

But we don't really know what went on, and Karen does come across as really nice ALL the time on Strictly and ITT. You would think her real personality would show through occasionally if it was all just an act.

Also Kevin is clearly utterly lovely, I don't think anyone can doubt that, and I can't imagine someone that nice being with anyone horrible.

What a lovely post and a lovely thread. Thanks.

As you say, Dave was a terrible dancer, although I threw him a couple of votes most weeks because he's such a thoroughly likeable man. He was never going to win - it was all about how long he would continue to entertain and I guess the joke was wearing thin.

And Karen has been a revelation this series. It's pretty clear that she's had a much nicer time this year, whether because her celebrity partner was nicer or because her fiancé was on the show I don't know - maybe a mixture of both.

So although I didn't shed a tear when Dave said his farewells, I did get a bit misty-eyed when Kevin dashed over to commiserate with Karen and then couldn't stop hugging her. Awww!
