Chicken advice please re heating?
I bought 2 half price chickens yesterday and only room in freezer for one and had dinner sorted so whacked the other one in slow cooker which finished about 9.00pm last night. I wrapped it in tin foil and stored it in microwave. No room in fridge and kitchen quite cool. I now want to use it tonight but do I need to reheat it thoroughly and would that make it dry? Or would it be ok cold with hot gravy?
Many thanks |

Either, in my opinion. If you do reheat, make sure you do it thoroughly; if you add hot gravy that should counteract any drying out. You could have it cold with hot gravy, I suppose, it is one of my mum's favourites. Used to have to have it as a kid, and I now loathe it.

You could nuke it in the microwave but I would put it in a pan on the hob and heat it in the gravy for a minute or two.

Thanks. I reheated it very high in the oven and am still alive to tell the tale. It was melt in the mouth juicy. First time I have done a chicken in sc and wll def do again but make sure it is timed for dinner!

I've never done a chicken in the SC either, but it sounds good. How did you do it, twingle?
