Sony KD28DL11 standby light flashing
I have had this happen before but never caught the amount of flashes.
My standby light flashed red 5 times when I turned it on this afternoon. I know this is an error of some kind but does anyone know what it means? Thank you |

Hi Heather
I've also had this but not sure why. Also when this happens, the picture fails to come on on the TV and has to be turned off and on again. My only thought is it could be to do with auto updates for the DTT? It only happens occasionally though... |

I have seen 5 flashes a lot of times especially on the Sony LS36 models, picked a tv up once from a customers house where it was off and flashing and when it was brought back to the workshop it worked perfectly

5 FLASH = IKR ERROR.
Seems like a some timing problem with the power supply. That is the reason it's not always there... But it will not harm the TV in anyway. |

I have terrible reception problems ecen after upgrading the aerial. Switching channels often fixes it. Could this be related to the light flashing?

Heather, I see we're both from West Yorks and having the same problems. I often find that suddenly the signal will not be found and then returns suddenly after changing from one channel to another. Have thought the two problems may be connected but not sure. You didn't buy your TV from Empire by any chance?

Hmm, so no link with who it was purchased from. I must admit its put me off buying Sony again even though I've never had problems with the brand in the past. I've emailed Sony Support and will post any response received from them...
