Before I heard about KitKat, I always thought K was going to be Key Lime Pie. Did Rowntree's sponsor the new name?

Dont be too hasty if you like sending texts, you can either use hangouts which is utter shite or a broken version of Handcent
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...jb.gosms&hl=en which works just fine. the developers must be laughing their tits off. |

It has just landed for both variants of the Nexus 7. Nexus 4 can't be that far away now.

I thought the point of the nexus devices was you got the update immediately? I'm surprised it's taken this long to be released.

i don't really understand what you mean by 'you got the update immediately' immediately that what? you can't get the update before it's finished. |

Nexus 7's and 10's are now getting the update. However cellular ones aren't .. That includes the nexus 4.
That update is "coming soon" Rumour is the clear view navi buttons and status bar along with the feature to swipe them away isn't coming to the nexus 4. Hope that isn't true. |

very strange comment. you get it as soon as it's available and before others devices.

Does the old trick of clearing the Google Services Framework data not work anymore to force the update?

I have to say it's working for me too. I didn't even know the "hangouts" thing was an issue, as the SMS interface seems very similar to the Nexus 4 to me.

it could be now it could be in 2 weeks, OTA updates always seem very staggered.

With Kitkat apparently designed to work on low end devices, I wonder if it will speed up the original Nexus 7. It's not exactly underpowered but mine certainly does feel laggy.
