Or (I want this too much. It'll never happen) Animal Week: we could have Louis Prima, oo be doo, I wanna be like you-oo-oo (again), totemic dances , There are loads of songs that mention animals. It'd be different.

I think it was wazzyboy on another thread who suggested themes by decade -- a terrific idea.”

Something like this but a full routine maybe.... Karen, Kev and Aljaz with others on BTF

The same dance from another angle with other dancers with Robin

Oh bugger, it exists already. Back to the drawing board. (Well found Pashoo, well found Jan)

Jacques Cousteau week with snorkels, lots of sea references; delicate floaty choreography, and dresses in blue, silver and speckled jewels -- and full flipper/aqualung kit for Mark and Iveta. Weeeee all live in a Yellow Submarine; Puff the Magic Dragon; Beyond the Sea; the Drunken Sailor...

Snorkels? I thought Harry, Chelsee, Aliona and Pasha had already done this theme? Sports relief I believe?

Ooh, thank you for finding the Karen Hauer version of the blindfold rumba. I was looking for it this afternoon without success. I love it, while at the same time thinking it's a bit Fifty Shades of Rumba.

Glad to hear about Vincent because it means I don't have to start watching IACGMOOH!

We rarely moan about the band or or the singers tbh.

Will check out the YT links when I'm not posting from my phone.

Theme weeks by decade have been good on DWTS , although if it's a mixture I like it when the couples draw lots for the year.

I'm not really a fan of the rumba or contemporary stuff but they're obviously a talented bunch.

Maybe if I watched more of this sort of thing I might get into it; not sure.

BTW... Thanks for the other clips as well SCD-O... and while we are doing that I will slip in my most favourite routine of all time... .... Quite a few people have performed it on BTF but for obvious reasons this has been the most emotive version for me...

Favourite couple: Sophie & Brendan - have given up on the idea of them winning but I haven't given up on them as a couple.

Favourite celeb (overall): I just think there's something unique and very watchable about Sophie. Plus that Charleston was so unexpectedly brilliant, it'll be the dance I associate with this series regardless of the outcome.

Favourite pro : Iveta (in Vincent and Natalie's absence). She's been really creative whilst not avoiding teaching her partner to actually dance proper steps. And she can laugh at herself.

Favourite celeb (this week): Sophie, always

Favourite couple (this week): Patrick & Anya. They shone and are now my second favourites.

Least Favourite : Abbey & Aljaz. There are some people you don't take to as much as others. I just find Abbey a bit vapid, a bit needy, a bit immature. She's a good dancer though, has great chemistry with Aljaz and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they won.

Least Favourite celeb (this week): As above.

Least Favourite pro (overall): James.

Least Favourite couple (this week): Fiona & Anton. There was nothing particularly exciting or memorable about their Paso. It passed me by.

Okay, you managed to trick me to watch that rumba again.

She WAS moaning.

Okay, maybe I am just getting a little crazy here as it's past my bedtime.

Check this out! Robin and Kevi's bionic bum!

Hey, could this be?!

Ali Bastian, the very Ali Bastian who took part in the SCD with Brian Fortuna, actually danced the Proud Mary jive with Robin and Kevi???

What do you think???

Looks like her (in the middle, short blond hair), isn't it?

Also, i remembered Natalie and Artem did some of those 'Tina Turner' moves in their jive too! Makes me pine for her jive even more now...

lol.... the caption of the clip clearly says so SCD-O...

Did you not know she did BTF with Brian Fortuna in 2010??

Don't worry....I am pretty sure we will see Nartem's jive in the final... probably as part of her favourite dance ....

ETA.... Hope BTF does a national tour next year and comes here

I'm pretty sure she was in Burn The Floor for a while when she was still in a relationship with Brian Fortuna.

That was pretty good, I don't remember her being half as exciting when she was actually on Strictly. But then I didn't make it to the end of series 7.

I'll join you in mourning the Natalie jive that never was.

I know the caption says Ali Bastian. It looks like her, but like girlcrisis I don't remember her being this HOT and free in her latin dances. She was often quite timid (for the lack of a better word!) with Brian Fortuna. The only dance I remembered in her SCD days were her VW!

I think it was probably the competition situation where she appeared timid.... But she has always been a beauty and 'quietly' sexy without being in your face... which seems to be some people's definition of sexy... ...I liked her that year on SCD although I was gutted when Jade had to pull out... ... I guess on BTF its different.... she must have loved dancing enough to join and have a ball... I just so wish I had seen BTF then or since... Next year I will definitely make an effort if they actually do a tour...

ETA.... How could you forget that amazing salsa she did??... One of my all time favourite salsas ...
