I have been a fan of the show since series two and lucky enough to now to have been twice, but found myself on Saturday not really bothered if I missed the live show and couldn't really be bothered to watch the sunday show. Ok i check the spoiler so i knew the result but usually watch anyway just to see the reactions and how the dance off performances went. Loved Deborah before she got voted off and enjoying Mark, and Ben is a bit of eye candy but none of the others are really must watch contestants ( Yes I know Natalie is amazingly competent but i find her a bit 'beige' ) beginning to wonder of I'm strictlyed out. Bit bored by the show this year and next week might not bother to watch unless i happen to be in. Anyone else beginning to think the glitter ball is losing its shine?

Exactly! Never thought I'd be saying that but may have to change my user name to 'was so excited'

Yes, I am very bored. I think there's insipid dancing, over-hyped praise and over-scoring maybe in the hope that people will believe that certain dances were good. Ben has been my favourite all along and I find his dancing full of sincere effort, his personality cheery and his character exemplary from what I've seen and read and heard. This is definitely the least enjoyable series for me.

Haha. But to answer your orignal question: no. I am quite excited by the prospect of seeing the dances in Blackpool.

Don't you know OP that only boring people get bored?

Anyway, for what its worth, I watched X-Factor from the start enjoying it a little less with each passing year.
Last year I ditched the opposition and just fell in love with SCD. It is brilliant and I adore every bit of it (I f/forward BF).

Maybe since Strictly is losing its sparkle for you, you could switch programmes and forums.

No.

I think this year is much improved, the costumes, I've actually heard of most of the contestants, the music has been a bit off the wall, but that's nothing new, and I liked especially the last two shows the halloween and the no-faffing specials. I've even caught myself watching a couple of the VTs rather than FF through all of them.

Really enjoying this year with a lot of equally matched dancers.

The fact that any of Natalie, Abbie, Sophie, Susannah, Ashley or Patrick could make the final makes this the most exciting series for a while.

I don't think this series is that exciting and a lot of very average dances have been over-hyped. Routines that would have been marked 6/7 are getting 8s and 9s this year. I'm not actually seeing a lot of improvement from many of them either. Sophie seems to have hit a brick wall and Abbey still seems a bit gawky and awkward.

I agree, and I also agree with the other poster that only boring people say that they are bored. It irritates me when people say they are bored, because I can never understand why they don't so something ELSE !! If you have loads of interests you are never bored.

To be fair, they are saying they are bored with certain things (not any and every thing). Once you get bored with life, you stop living.

Also, some posters might say they are bored as a way of saying they are somehow more superior than others, and could sense something going South while the gulliable mass (i.e. us in general) are still 'in the dark'. The high-horsey-finger-pointy-throwing-head-back-and-laugh-at-the-peasants mentality. Such people should best be left to their own superiority (i.e. ignored).

I got bored by the whole show by about series 7 and now just watch for the odd moment or dance that excites me.

I must be very common cause I am loving the series very much... as I have done since I was properly hooked in series 8....I love all the costumes/songs (may be not all the choices...ooops).I love Brucie and his autocue misses, love Tess and all her dresses, overexcited Zoe and mad Claud....And surprising love all the contestants this year bar (Vanessa & Julien...oops again )....love all the pros (bar Anton...oooops )...but LOVE everything.... I must be very common indeed
But happy to be common..

I agree with you soexcited, but I find I'm always the same the year after a series that I really enjoyed. Kara's year was my favourite, but I didn't make it to the end of the year after, my interest just waned completely.

And it's the same this year, I absolutely loved last year and the quality of dancing. I also loved Louis & Flavia.

The only think keeping me watching is Natalie & Artem, if she had been too poorly to continue, I would have stopped watching.

I really do think, Natalie apart, that this bunch are incredibly average dancers, lovely, lovely people, but very average and just because they're handing out 8s and 9s like Haribos at a toddler's birthday party, doesn't mean I think the standard of dancing is there.

I'm loving this year because there is a sense that any one of about four or five people could actually win it and it is interesting to see what people could come up with and I like the fact that two older contestants (Susannah and Patrick) are displaying high levels of talent and an overweight guy is doing pretty well (I'm resigned to the fact that Mark is not long for this competition but I really hope he goes out on a high) - last year there were two ringers and it was pretty obvious that Louis was going to win from an early stage and it was all young fitties who were good. However my hubbie's best friend says he's bored by this year because of the flat standard and lack of people engaging him. Neither view is necessarily wrong.

My thoughts exactly.

I get a bit bored when it becomes obvious that some bloke who, by some margin, isn't the best dancer (Chambers, Hollins, Smith) is going to win.
Also the comedy turns lasting far too long (i.e. beyond week 1) is tedious.

Yes, I have also been a fan since series 2 and regularly watched each show at least twice but find that this year I am bored. Funnily enough the only one who for me is a must see is Nathalie because her dancing is so exquisite. The most annoying aspect for me is the judges' ridiculous marking.

With SCD overall pretty much not, if I' m honest. I might not be that excited by a particular pairing, theme or dance, but even then I find myself thinking why that is, which as a process adds a bit of interest .

After last year's 'who's going to finish second to Louis' yawn, anything was going to be an improvement.

The only guarantee this year is Natalie will make the final, but I'm not as certain that she will win the final.

I think it's really exciting this year, Sophie, Abbey, Susanna, Patrick and Ashley are all capable of making the final, and all have time to improve enough to win.

What's boring about that

Yep. Too much Bruce and not enough Aliona. Plus I'm getting a bit bored of all the sob stories, VT's and props.

I like that the competition is wide open, it's a lot more interesting than last year (which I stopped watching halfway through because there was no mystery and I found Louis incredibly bland). My only niggle with this year is the mollycoddling of and salivating over Ben which has had me throw the remote control at least twice, and I imagine I shall again this weekend. Other than that I'm entertained every Saturday night and that's all I can ask from the show really.

You can never get enough Aliona it's true. But apart from that I'm enjoying this series
