Haven't watched Corrie properly in ages but tonight really got me back watching, rather than surfing the net and keeping half an eye on the story.

But a lot of it is practicaly comedy now. Cilla, so enjoyable and she really had me laughing out loud when she added the extra £50 to the ransom. Scooter, Candice and the fish pond funny but totally unbelievable.

The Harris/Webster Sally/Ian storyline does draw me in but excluding Tommy they are played out by some of the poorest characters in the show.

The Charlie/Shelley story is getting a bit the main reason I am sticking with the show at the moment. He repulses me, but then so does she in a way, still I can believe this storyline and it is keeping my interest at the moment.

I thought the Norris/Emily scenes were so touching, I like Norris' character, every now and again they show us a bit of human in him .

She will accidently on purpose tell Martin.

Yes. She said in an interview she asked the producers to put a diet in the script for Shelley because she wanted to lose a bit of weight, and having to do it on screen would give her an incentive to do it off screen!

Absolutely not, but I don't think she was just lecturing Rosie about morals, rather trying to dig herself out of a hole by purposely making Rosie feel like she is the one in the wrong and so it's best not to mention to her dad where she got the condom because he'd be more angry at her for that than the whole sex thing - i.e. Sally is making sure she's got her own back covered by laying it on thick with Rosie.

Same reason as above - she's so worried she'll be found out she's making too much out of it in that way people trying to cover things up can do - they say too much by way of trying to get themselves out of a situation and it's that which makes it all the more suspicious.

Totally aware of what Sally was trying to do (albeit not very well ) but it was just the whole irony of her comment that made me laugh!

I know what you mean! But I guess that was the point.

Enjoyable episodes tonight and great acting from all involved in the funny and the serious scenes.

I thought the Emily/Norris scene was very sweet especially

Untill the word glue was mentioned it was all very surreal and more like Carrie on Corrie.

Cilla is a great Pantomime actress and really plays it for laughs. Problem is that Les is a great Pantomime actor when he is supposed to be playing it serious.

I would like to hear Rosie say, " Mom, I have decided to come clean and tell Dad the truth about your handbag"

Regarding Charlie and Shelley, it just goes on and on and is becoming tedius.

Proves just how daft the rest of them are - how obvious was it she was trying to draw attention to the letter?!

Do we really need proof. The only one with any brains at all is Fizz.

Apologies for being on a verbose streak - however Sally (if she HAD any brains) would have said she had the condom against the day when she needed to give it Rosie just in case ... no more questions. The woman has no brains cos she only thinks "oh yes, back to me!"
And as for Cilla .......... I notice an interview on the itv site in which Wendi Peters says she won't let her Gracie watch these shows in case she thinks her mum might sell her dog - well done that woman!!! Really helps to separate the actress from the character

I laughed out loud at Cilla's line in the pub

Yana (to Les) - Have you ever tried to get in contact with a dead dog?
Cilla - No, but he's chatted Janice up and that's more or less the same thing!

I really enjoyed last nights episodes. Sally digging herself into a hole with Tommy, Norris and Emily - very touching what he did, and a nice reference back to the olden days of Corrie and the memory of Ernest. The dog storyline is mildly amusing, okay, but gives Les Battersby far to much screentime IMHO, although I'm growning strangely fond of Yana. Really warmed to Scooter last night, thought he handled his first big scene very nicely, the winding up of Candice was great, looking forward to seeing more of him, for the first time I thought him and Sarah started to really work as a couple.

Thought they were ok episodes, but that could have been because I was in a mood!

They seriously need to drop the last eppy on a Monday.

Spoiler
Sunita adjusts the scales to make it seem Shelly has reached her target weight but Charlies sees and Shelley doesn't know!!

As for the stuff with Emily, can someone enlighten me who is Ernest, I dont think I watched it back then.
I thought they were talking about the maxine/richard hillman thing.

Ernest was Ernest Bishop her first husband. He was shot during a raid by two men on Mike Baldwin's factory back in the mid seventiesish, can't remember the exact year.
