Got the update on my Nexus 10 yesterday in the UK

Just received an update to Android 4.4.4 on my Google Nexus 7 W-Fi, 2013. Looks like it's a security and bug fix update. Anyone else get the same on theirs?

Also with Google I/O conference taking place right now the next Android version will be Android L (Lollipop/5.0). Final name and version number yet to be confirmed.

Yep, mine rolled over yesterday to the latest 4.4.4.

Interestingly it looks like the Nexus 7 2013 - in Google's eyes, a "developer device" - is shortly going to be able to download a developer preview of the latest L version of Android...... If that happens without silly restrictions (like limited to US only or whatever) then I think I'll definitely be giving it a spin!

Really? How soon will that be? Sounds interesting.

According to Android Police, tomorrow "morning". ("Morning" presumably meaning morning in San Francisco, in which case late afternoon / early evening here).

Looks like Android L will be rolled out to all Nexus devices in a couple of months time OTA.

The last 2 updates have been a disaster for iPlayer users, including I'm afraid Google's reputataion for a fix for it.They may not be totally at fault that's a given, but in the eyes of some...
Searching around I see Plex users having problems that started with 4.4.3. also.

It was a quick fix by Plex, including for the L preview.

Not so quick a fix looking at all 9 pages of the original thread starting early June:

https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/top...-nexusgpe-443/

Similar problem, and duration as the Nexus/iPlayer issue.

Would any of those work for the i player stuttering issue ?

Although according to the author of this article not all nexus devices will be eligible for Android L - including the 2012 version of the nexus 7.

November? Really? It's supposedly to be released in 6 weeks time, so i was thinking we'd have it by the end of October. Also to be noted by then is we'll also have the announcement of the new Google Nexus 9 made by HTC apparently. Strongly rumoured.

not quite. they've just taken a hard limit of 18 months and suggested that anything older than that won't get L and anything newer than that will. That's not how it works.

Android 5.0 Lollipop update will arrive for Nexus 7 Wi-Fi and Nexus 10 Wi-Fi models starting 3rd November. Those with LTE devices will be updated by the end of November.
