For me, the problem is I don't see a winner there at all. They're a pretty uninteresting bunch.

But we haven't even seen them on the show, so I don't see how you come to that conclusion. What a lot of people don't realise is these people are just normal people, they aren't robots. So personalities do come out and behaviour tendencies, just like most people.

If you base it on just "name", then you are missing the point of this show or a show like CBB.

I am always open to being surprised, and in fact that is what I hope for from IAC more than anything. My starting position is that I don't see anyone there that holds any interest for me - maybe Matthew Wright, but only mildly. If anyone turns out to be a lot more interesting/amusing (I really can't see who would be amusing)/eccentric than they seem, I will be very happy to admit that they have surprised me. Don't you think it looks like slim pickin's, though?

Now that we know more about all the contestants, then Joey isn't the favourite as far as I can see, it's more likely Alfonso.

Joey is an irritating nobody, there only to take the p1ss out of most of the time. If there is some kind of belief it's an act on his part, forget it. He really is not worthy of any meaningful discussion.

It always looks like that every series. But I tend to judge it on what they are like as people and not the name on the show.

In recent years, yes, it mostly has looked like that. There have been some series in the past, though, that have included people whose presence made me want to watch because I knew they would be, or had reason to believe they might well be, intelligent, funny, interesting and/or eccentric. It's been a while since that's been the case, though.

That said, he could turn out to be boring as sin once he's there..”

same here fresh prince was my favourate show as a kid and probably still is now so carlton going in is awesome. really think he can win

But that is just assumption because it hasn't even started yet.

Personally Rebecca Adlington fits the bill for me as a likely winner.

Olympic champion who will give it her all and seems like a lovely person that will win over the viewers.

She fits the mould of many previous female winners!

I think he will annoy people and be picked for every trial. The male Helen Flannigan.

Joey Essex won't win.
He is the most stupid person ever to appear onscreen .
Someone on another forum said his stupid act was acting.
His appearances on Celebrity Juice and Through the Keyhole would indicate otherwise.
If it is acting then he's very good - and why would a very good actor be on TOWIE ?

His stupidity may make him popular to begin with but I would suggest that as he is even more brainless than Helen Flanagan he will actually become quite tiresome .
I'm not sure enough of the public will support someone who you can only laugh at and not with .

The only year they had a surefire winner from when that celeb first entered was Biggins year

That's the thing.
The obvious winners from before the show starts don't necessarily mean they will remain popular.
That only becomes clear when their personality shines through as it did with Stacey Solomon and who would have picked Ashley Roberts to almost be the winner last year before the show started ?

Well yes - we wont know until we see them in action.

But even if she isn't bookies favourite she has the potential to win over the nation. She just fits the bill!

Westlife fanbase is deceptively huge as well I think, so surely Kian has a chance? Between Kian and Joey I'd have thought, can't understand why Kian isn't 2nd favourite.

As previous series have shown us - existing fanbases don't usually count.
Westlife fanbase may be huge but if the guy is an arsehole in real life he'll soon get kicked out

I've not seen her on anything except the Olympics so I wouldn't know.
I assume you have seen her on tv as herself rather than as just the athlete

To be fair , ITV editing can affect the outcome hugely so if they don't show much footage of someone they will generally be out early regardless - as with Mike Read in an earlier series who had pretty much no screen time.

The live through the night footage they aired about a decade ago would be a nice thing to fill the hours of ITV2/3

We have to remember that IACGMOOH will be on just for 3 weeks so for how long will Joey Essex's popularity last depending on his attitude/behaviour towards his team-mates throughout the current show remains to be seen.

I don't believe Joey will reach for the final as I suspect he'll be this year's male Helen Flanagan as another FM pointed out here if Matthew Wright gets voted out early.

Some are saying Joey's stupidity is an act. But I'm not sure that is the case. If it is then he has been acting all his life – he has one GCSE, and that was a D in woodwork (that might come in useful in the jungle actually )

A lot of the people criticising Joey have never even watched an episode of TOWIE. They're just making assumptions. He's just a 23 year old guy on a TV show, he's pretty harmless. I see no need to call him names – though I suspect some of it may stem from jealousy that he has made a fortune from basically nothing.

Joey is the most popular member of TOWIE by far. So I can see why he is favourite. Having said that, my personal fave is Lucy, I'm also interested in how Amy will come across.

To me Joey, Mo and Kian are no favourites of mine, everyone has a different taste in people, I like (at the moment) Lucy, Rebecca and Amy, and am I only one that disliked Biggins

He's only known to people who watch TOWIE. Therefore, I haven't a clue who he is.
