I'm not an expert but I think he danced his cha cha very well, I think he more than held his own with Anya who as someone pointed out on another thread didn't 'dance down' for him in that dance, I think he would have done a good salsa if he hadn't been injured too. Patrick's cha cha along with his American smooth are two of my favourite dances this series.
If he keeps on improving and giving good performances then I'd be very happy to see him win - I love his partnership with Anya who I think has been a great addition to the pro line up.
However, unfortunately I don't think he'll win either, but I hope he gets to the finals or semis. I assume he gets some votes from those who are familiar with watching him in 'Casualty' but I'm not sure it's enough to compete with the fan bases of the other celebs and I still think TPTB want a female winner.
Like others have written, Patrick's chances depending on the public voting, assuming no major mishap during performance. Patrick has a naturalness in his latin dances that only Natalie matches. He is ragged around the edges in his ballroom but from the few moments in hold during last week's AS that seems to have improved. If he continues improving then he's a contender dance-wise and it would be great if he made it to the final. If he was somewhere in the top 3 I'd be very happy for him - and Anya.
He's far and way the best male dancer and is just gettng better and better.
Unfortunately he is also extremely shy, uncomfortable with the whole ghastly, ITT sofa interviews by the hyperventilating Zoe and the fake OTT gurning at the camera he is supposed to do.

Sadly the public love the OTT hype and the BIG personalities so they won't root for him.

I'd be very happy with a Patrick win. Have voted for him a few times and rewatched some of his dances ( a ssure sign I like someone). He seems like a decent bloke too.

I agree completely with all the points you make. I would only add that, so far, he hasn't had that indefineable "Wow" factor in any of his dances. However, neither had Mark Ramprakash at this relatively early stage in the show, so who knows?
Thought he would make a real impact at the start and he did so well in the first group dance. But then he sort of fell off my radar and, as others have said, he comes over as a bit bland for my personal taste. Yes, he's emerged in the past couple of weeks but I'm not on the same page as Craig with designating him the 'best male dancer' in the competition. I think Ashley has the edge - and probably the demographic behind him.

Mark had the wow from the get go! By this stage, he had done an impressive first week cha, a moody tango in the third week, an excellent Paso in week 4 and that unforgettable salsa in week 5, so by this stage he had stacked more impressive and memorable dances than any of this year's class have managed..for me.

If a male makes it to the final this year then I hope it's Patrick unless Ashley takes off like a rocket. If it's Ben who makes it then he will have got there as a result of people voting with whatever is between their legs

Sadly I agree with young - rather like the Gatsby vote of rich girls don't marry poor boys - SCD voters don't seem to love middle aged black guys and I've noticed because several of them seem to go out before their time I'm almost resigned to it with Patrick. I've a feeling he mght be the first of the real contenders to go and the first real shock. That said he's topped the leaderboard deservedly and he ought to be very proud of himself for that.
I'd happily go for a drink with most of the celebs from SCD this year. Last year I couldn't be bothered with the tour and this year I'm looking forrward to it so that says something about the rising of the bar this year.

He should be in the finale or semi but I doubt he will be . In fact, after Blackpool, I give him 1 more week maximum . I dont think that he has the fanbase. Out of all the men celebrities left, I think that he has the smallest fanbase

I agree. I'd be very happy if Patrick won. I love his smile when he dances.
He is very good but I'm afraid that he will just fade into the background for many as he is just a normal human being and not an attention seeking drama queen like a lot of the others!
