I think some of it has to do with the fact that today is a bank holiday, so people have more free time to be on Facebook. It's been shared about 900 times so far, meaning it will have reached people it wouldn't do normally - I don't recognize about 99% of the people who have commented on it! It's also been shared widely on Twitter - you never know what will catch people's imagination!
Given the picture in the shower was the last one that got over 10K likes, I think I have an idea about what exactly catches their imaginations.

I agree about timing - bank holiday would have made a huge difference to the number of people who are just idly fiddling with their phones. And sadly, there is little effort involved in looking at a hot photo and pressing "like" - whereas the videos etc require you to stay engaged for more than a few seconds and actually watch and listen for a few minutes - so people just move on. Tbh I do exactly that with other artists.

Having said that, I am getting a little kick out of seeing the likes up to 16.8K now and the shares at nearly 1,100.

20.3K this morning - that's the most likes I have seen on a post on his FB, although I don't know what it was like back in the XF days. Funnily enough, I always consider Twitter his main place for fandom, probably because I prefer Twitter and only look at FB when others are mentioning particular posts there - but on Twitter he tends to get "favourites" in the low hundreds mainly, whereas on FB he can rack up "likes" in the thousands. I wonder if there is anything they could do to really promote his music there - just posting video clips doesn't seem to make much difference.

Fantastic day yesterday, it was nice to have one more to finish up with. The crowd was fairly small but they made enough noise. We were lucky enough to be on the same flight back as him today (not a lot of options it would seem!), not that we were sitting having a chat on the plane over the duty frees but we got a chance to say bye and thanks at the airport.
I asked him about the gig in Cork and if there will be more, as implied by the write up but he didn't even know what I was talking about! He said "Where?" I can't go to any of the planned gigs at the moment so I'm feeling rather dejected now

Well let's hope his manager knows something about it, as I see they are advertising tickets on Twitter.

I guess somethings will never change

Glad to hear you had a great time, a nice end to the Porcelain Tour, did he meet any of the fans before or after the gig.

Matt is in Ireland around that date for Currafest so it sort of makes sense. Cypress Ave is the 10th and the other the 12th.

OK! Magazine ‏@OK_Magazine 2h
Blimey, @matt_cardle_uk looks different: http://okm.ag/1lVQJo2

The story isn't entirely accurate - but it is written positively. I am almost getting used to this positive PR!

OK Mag have also posted the picture on their own FB page - and it is racking up the likes too - which is good as their page has over 644K likes and Matt's picture has had nearly 2K likes in an hour. That is pretty good going considering most of their audience won't be specifically Matt fans - in fact judging by some of the comments, quite a few aren't fans. The comments are mainly positive though.

Brad ‏@bradwalter77 5h
@MelanieCmusic @PossumRecords @matt_cardle_uk will a hard copy be released here in Australia?

Possum Records ‏@PossumRecords 24m
@bradwalter77 @MelanieCmusic @matt_cardle_uk if you are referring to Porcelain the answer is yes

So Possum Records will promote Porcelain as well as LY eventually - might explain why Matt is listed as one of their artists on their website, but Mel isn't.
