So Matt has a new twitter account - but it looks exactly the same as the old one - and he is still following me! Wonder why this was necessary?

ETA new account name @mattcardle

And @Matt_Cardle_UK account is now empty!

I guess they maybe just wanted to simplify the twitter name - make it easier for people to find him, the underscores make it a bit long-winded I suppose.

They acquired the @mattcardle twitter name a few weeks back, so I guess when they were ready they first of all changed that to @mattcardle_uk_ which freed the name up for Matt just to change his name to the new one, which means nothing but the name changed, and then when they'd done that they created a new account for @matt_cardle_uk so they've still got control of that name too - although apart from the tweet directing people to @mattcardle I guess it will be dormant. Must have been a little bit nerve wracking doing it in case something went wrong.

Morning

Re twitter change - I think it makes sense to get rid of those underscores but I also recall past issues with the follow counter (& a certain other problem a few months ago). A smooth transition overnight it appears, good of Nathan to confirm.

I desp wanted to return to the Festival yesterday bit things where against me - it's one for next years list (must dye my hair more various bright colour & get a fairy dress).

After Matts set I can't recall anyone else on that rather big stage before Steve H who drew a massive crowd - what a nice guy he is, they were all up there (3 of them) just enjoying music, having a jam session & crowd banter. I know what you mean though CRABBIE re having a later time slot. I'm very much a bit of a people watcher, I like to see folks reactions which in Matts case can rather take one by surprise. Many only have that XF connection so probably expect that type of song/production to a backing tape. All ages were in that crowd, apart from the fans we already know.

That's my live music gig list diary now empty - I must find something !!

My reaction to FT took me completely by surprise too, I was only half watching tbh. And yes, he does makes me listen to the words of songs that I hadn't really taken much notice of before EG Britney I think music should make you feel something, be it happy (I've been trying to work out why this happens, is it the rhythm , the beat, the tone of the voice?) sad, produce tears or just get under your skin

The acts for the South Tyneside Festival have been announced, and Matt's not one of the acts.

Morning

I've just seen a crowd photo from the Accoustic Festival and true to form, I'm hiding in it

Whilst finally sat down last eve with a final cuppa tea I was absently watching a programme about British Airways and guess who popped up on it - Matt & Mel singing Loving You live . It was from the new plane/service launch last year.

I saw a lot of people tweeting about that last night - I wonder if Matt was aware the clip would be included, and if so, why didn't he tweet something about there being a fleeting glimpse on said programme. There's a lot of us super fans who would watch a programme just to catch that glimpse.

Mel can usually be relied upon for such things and she didn't say anything, so they probably didn't know...

And another booking

He's here, there & everywhere

As a side note, it seems Leona has left Sony. I can't blame her one bit - still soooo glad Matt parted ways with them.

He's one of the roadies, isn't he ? Don't know any names, apart from Mr Merch

They said it was back stage on Porcelain Tour.

No, nearly three weeks between the events - I find this calendar very handy for keeping track of what he's doing and where

I think we are going to have to get used to it. This is the first extended period in 3 years that he isn't either recording/promoting an album or touring - so there aren't any random tweets by people who are working with him, or spotting him near studios etc. Inbetween some random (but very welcome) TV appearances and some upcoming festivals, it seems as if he taking life nice and easy, and who can blame him. He has given a lot of himself, and now he is taking things easy.

Maybe we should have some posts of YTs people like. Here's one I like and haven't watched for a long time, but it came up on shuffle on my iPod today and I had forgotten how lovely his version is (and how good he looks in a waistcoat )

Thats a great idea Crabbie, really loved this one, although I didn't care too much for the original.

It sure does - I feel sick just imagining what it would be like, if that happened to one of my kids.

So here is my favourite performance of Porcelain at SBE. Since the tour I have completely fallen in love with this song - it was good on the album, but seeing it live has just taken it up a level for me. I watch this performance most days now.
