My best chats with Matt have been when he's had a few drinks!

Just saw a tweet from someone on the same flight to London as Matt - I thought he may have stayed over an extra night, as James Walsh is doing a gig in Dublin tonight.

Wonder if he has anything else lined up before Xmas - I keep thinking his diary is a bit empty, and then something like The Voice pops up.

Bless him - he didn't seem as drunk there as I thought he was, based on tweets I saw.

The lad who posted that said when he'd got to McD's he ran for a taxi, so he mustn't have that sozzled.

I saw that too - he wasn't exactly sober, but he was hardly wasted.

I spent a few hours at the works Xmas do with people who were really plastered last week - he's nowhere near that level there.

I wonder what the attraction is with Kensal Rise Nandos, he's never away from the place.

Guess it wasn't him!

He's spot on about X Factor, they don't want to acknowledge his existence, why should he watch it or keep talking about it?

Really enjoyed this! Beautiful rendition of River. Great to hear him say that he has chosen to ignore a lot of what they taught him on the XF Thats my boy! Keep it real

Disappointed with HMH as next single, worst track on the album for me.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Must admit Hit My Heart wouldn't have been my choice of single either, but I do like it and it does come out quite highly in favourite song polls. Whether sensible or not I would have loved Porcelain or In Chains - just because I really want to see him sing either of those live on tv. Although I guess there's no guarantee that will even happen with HMH. Can't imagine what the video's going to be like for HMH - it's the type of song that suggests there should be lots of people in the video to me - and be quite bright and busy, but will be interesting to see what they come up with. Wonder if Nick will do it again.

Wished he'd keep his eyes open more though, shame not to look into those baby blues

I would love In Chains to be a single, I really think it would introduce a lot of people, outside of his fanbase, to the other non pop side of Matt Cardle. It is a really strong song - but I can only assume that the guys who promote his singles to radio have told him it would have less chance of airplay than tracks like HMH. As the next single has to promote the tour, he can't risk doing a track like In Chains, only to find it didn't get playlisted at all.

I agree with your vision of the video - it's quite a "busy" song.

Well, he was singing on the radio, so I guess it didn't really matter on this occasion.

Personally I would take doing what comes naturally to him over *Performance skills" anyday. If he is more comfortable singing with his eyes closed then he should do it. But then thats just me, and Im not interested in his Baby Blues

HMH starts really well with that slightly haunting Florence and the machine style backing vocal, then the funky bit of drumming, but it all goes a bit 70s eurovision song contest entry in the chorus. I can actually see a swarthy estonian dancer with a frilly shirt and a whip! Its really not great lyrically either IMO.

ALTL still has a 70s feel to it but its done soooooo much better!
TTIO would have been perfect, and would really have helped him to crossover from "Housewives Favourite" to cool and contemporary musician.

But what do I know........ I wish him the best of luck with it anyway.
