It definitely read as a press release to me. It could of course be Will behind the contact with the press even from the other side of the world. I'd like to think that any split was down to tough love. The 28 day thing sounds a bit short too. I hope he doesn't go back too soon. It must be really difficult to go from working full on for over 3 years to suddenly having very little to do.”

The 28 day part is in-patient, there is probably ongoing out-patient treatment afterwards.

I don't know much about these treatment plans, is he allowed to leave the building at all or is there now for four solid weeks? I assume he's allowed visitors.

I think he wil be there for four solid weeks and i am assuming he needs to cut himself off from everything that triggers his beheviour in the first place.
Not sure about visitors .

When my ex was in rehab he was allowed visitors. He was also allowed to leave for short periods though there was a curfew. However, I believe it's different per place and/or per individual and what is thought to be right for them.

Hope your ex is in a better place now and their recovery went well. Also, I hope you came through it unscathed, both my ex-husbands had addicted personalities and it can be hard work for those close to hand.

Again I wish Matt all the best. Eventually got tour tickets, but would prefer him to get well then go out on the road and end up back to square one. Hopefully the friendship between Matt and Will remains intact, whatever path they choose to go. Both give and gave so much to the fans, at personal cost.

If he has to cancel his tour because he isn't ready, then I will gladly forgo the cost of tickets I have already bought. But as part of the press blurb mentioned that he was trying to get well so he is ready to tour, then hopefully that won't be the case. But if he needs time, then I, for one, am willing him to take it.

I have no experience of rehab in any form, but if 28 days with no contact with the outside world is what is needed, then I hope he stays put.

Dunno about anyone else, but I didn't sleep much last night. I woke up with a few tears in my eyes.

No, tossed and turned all night, OH said I was muttering on about Matt Cardle in my sleep. Been wonderig what this kind of therapy would include.

Thanks, that makes sense. I'm just wondering because Matt is very much a social, go out person. This will be a big change for him.

I'm sure tickets will be refunded if it comes to that! The tour is a while off yet though so hopefully it will go ahead. I won't start booking travel yet though.

As I predicted a few months ago, Matt's duet with Melanie C, Loving You, is indeed my favourite song of 2013. It may well be my fave song for 7 years, and has overtaken Laura White's You Should Have Known to be my fave X-Factor performer song of all-time!

My thanks to Matt and the production team for finding such a worthwhile song to sing!

Really lovely, still thinking of his fans. I did wonder if he was seeing all the messages of encouragement for him. Nice to know he has.
When the text came through, the song Firework was on the TV, spooky ! !
Although it's probably his only cover I never listen to, the lyrics are quiet apt at the moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p_wNe9OtG8

Just taking a break from the party to wish you all a Happy New Year xxxx

That note from Matt ........... how lovely indeed that he's seeing all the support thats been flooding in via Cyberland. He's taken that first big step now it's each day at a time. I've been reading the posts but didn't really know what to say, we had all seen indicators that something wasn't quite right so now it needs to take as long as it takes, be it 3, 6 or 12 months. It must be hard to witness someone you care for obviously spinning out of control but refusing to see the true picture, very, very difficult for all involved - I really hope that certain friendships can be put back together again.

Take care guys xx

A message promoting the tour has appeared on Matt's Facebook tonight - so someone is working on his behalf.

At last! I couldn't post on here. It wouldn't recognise my password . God I so gutted about Matt! I mean I'm surprised and shocked but I'm not if that makes sense? Although I really thought it would be the bevvy that got him. I agree about the addictive personality. He's pretty much all or nothing isn't he. Anyway he's a brave boy facing up and taking the steps to sort it. God only knows what's gone on with him and Will . It's all so confusing. Anyway I'm thinking about him...

Oh and happy N' Year to one and all
