Last night was probably the best gig of Matt's I've ever been too, at least it feels like it was this close to it!. Right from the off there were good vibes, loads of VIPs, healthy queue - which got lots healthier very quickly. The venue itself was a fair size, bigger than The Fire launch in Birmingham last year, and was pretty full by the time Azu came on. Me and Chosen got good places considering we'd gone for quite a nice relaxing meal instead of hardcore queuing, so win, win really. Azu was very good again, he suits a Matt crowd I think, he's enthusiastic and charming and has some good songs, you can't help but warm to him. We spoke to him afterwards and he said Matt fans enthusiasm for him and tweets and stuff to Matt asking him to have him as support again went a long way to Matt inviting him back again.

Think we lucked out again as Matt seemed to come on a bit earlier that at other gigs, apart from Glasgow, so no complaints about that, even though the person behind me was having a right old grumble about how long it was taking. By this time the venue was heaving, can't imagine they could have squeezed many more in and the atmosphere was buzzing. The set list hadn't changed at all. People sang full pelt from Your Kind of Love right through to Loving You. Loads of dancing and arm waving and clapping. Matt clearly fed off the audience and went for a few notes he might not have done without the audience egging him on - at least that's what if felt like. The whole show was a highlight really. Got goosebumps again in Faithless with everyone singing along. He did introduce the band this time which is tighter than ever. Have I mentioned that I really love Lorenzo? Cos I really do. Think he is an enormous asset to Matt, there were a few blokes around me and I could see them watching Lorenzo, hard not to be impressed with him, and the band as a whole

Matt did dedicate Porcelain to his time in January and to his friend again, but he seemed to have more of a handle on his emotions this time, at least on his tears. It was beautiful as ever but by the end where it really builds and builds and the vocal kicks in, he seemed to be singing more defiantly than anything. Major goosebumps.

Loving You absolutely rocked the place, and all too soon it was over again . There was merchandise for sale at the back and I wanted to grab a programme - but there was a huge throng of people around it, waited for ages for it to die down. That was great to see

I couldn't stretch to VIP so I've bunged in Oxford tonight as an extra treat, but I'm going quite late so will probably be at the back. Will be interesting to see it from a different perspective .

Only took one video - In Chains http://youtu.be/iQ7hPTgmlKM

And some pics

Forgot to mention he took his shirt off about two-thirds the way through, to reveal a vest and a bit of nipple exposure. Have to say was never a fan of the vest but I'm really growing to appreciate the ones he's worn on this tour

I was just nipping in to shout feed back people & there it was . Thanks hon, twitter was a buzz last eve & again today! I waved as I drove past Birmingham last night. Yet again, wonderful photos & I'm staying clear of the vids now. I quite agree about Porcelain though, sing it from a determined point of view, pushing over those rock boulders that life in general throws in your way from time to time.

You would have loved it Pie!

I forgot to say Azu came out during Matt's set and was down by the side of the stage behind the barrier singing and dancing his heart out If I'd have been closer I'd have taken a sneaky video - was great to see

Oh and It's Only Love was really, really brilliant - such a great crowd song

Aww, I'm sure I would but a clash of dates put paid to attending. Never mind. Lol at Azu getting on down, bless him. Still nearer to London date wise

Not sure that Facebook link for Bath deal is working. I got tempted and put two tix in but it wanted to charge £45 still so I bailed. Probably just as well because I have London the following day and it would all have been a bit rushed.

I wouldn't say it was for me but I can see why he'd feel that way because of the crowd.

Yep, it's odd because ticket options goes up in two's instead of the usual one's so there must be a glitch somewhere and it's only available til 5.

An interesting perspective. He's the cool looking chap with the eye-liner we were chatting to in the queue at Scala.

That's good. I'm just about to leave. I don't know why but I thought Bournemouth might be a bit quiet.
