I had seen Matt on X factor, loved him on it and bought his Letters album but kind of lost track of what he was doing after that. Then last October I read that he was coming to the Queens Hall in Edinburgh so bought tickets. I started checking out on You Tube what to expect and was totally amazed by not only the brilliant songs but by his out of this world voice! (must admit i cried at a few songs as the words are just so beautiful and heartfelt) Right away I was on I Tunes buying both The Fire and Porcelain. All three albums from then on were on replay at home and in the car and mostly still are as they are songs you just never get tired of

Seeing him live this month just blew me away, he was mesmerising and just got better with each song, the band were fantastic and bonus, matt was in a kilt!!......but hey I am preaching to the choir here! haha

I wish I had been able to go to a few more dates on the tour but unfortunatley it just wasn't possible. Now I have seen him live i can't wait till next time as once is just not enough, roll on Ayr next month!

Anyway the point of this post is to thank everyone on here for their contribution to the thread, particularly those who took the time to post detailed reports on the concerts they went to as well as pics and especially videos. As Edinburgh was quite early in the tour it was fantastic to read others experiences as it brought it all to life and was like i was there too re-living the whole thing so a huge thank you all for that

My one regret? Not doing the VIP experience, I so so wish I had gone for it.....next time though, definitely next time! x”

Hello - always nice to see a new poster. Please feel free to join in the banter here - it's the only way to keep the thread interesting.

London. Boy was I a bag of excited nerves for this! Great pub meet up, spotted many a familiar face coming in which set me off dashing down the pub to greet (ok, hugs a plenty you know what I'm like) . The chap buying drinks for the table was rather a surprise, most kind of him indeed - he seemed rather taken with our general good humour & obvious delight at seeing each other again (nearly a year for me). I did enjoy the gig venue having never been there before, a good layout of seated & standing areas with a bar at the back. Nice acoustics. I must admit the whole place just simply burst when Matt walked on stage, my seat never saw my backside in it again! Mel C surprised me. I do love an acoustic set and really enjoyed her own two songs. She really knows what she's doing on that stage and I respect any woman who can not only walk but dance gracefully in those high heels! The teasing banter with Matt is fun, she really does take the mickey note, click click dance heel moves (bless him). During the Happy Birthday to his dad some helpful guy seated along the same row stood up and was pointed him out for everyone, lol Porcelain, just stunning live - got something in my eyes and glorious Letters, never ever get tired of that song!

Warwick. A rush to get there then we had trouble finding a car parking space that we could get the car into, and once into - we could actually open the door to get out! Seriously small spaces, I'd advise a mini or a gwiz to be sure, lol. This resulted in us (my OH was with me) catching the end of Azu unfortunately and we waited until he had concluded before finding our seats. I'd booked blind just asking for mid centre front and thats exactly what I got! Tbh I found it a bit intimidating just being sooo close - OH said he felt like an xf judge, lol. Still my camera liked the proximity - I've posted a few photos over on twitter (I don't know how to get them across to here). It was a sit or stand question being very aware of proximity and those behind so I quirmed in my seat for a good few songs until I think it was It's only Love which started off with such a loud twang on the guitar as if to say "wake up" guys! And then most stood up to dance. It really did change the vibe of the gig I feel, relief all round including the guys on stage too Not Over You each gig this was beautifully sung

Telford. Added at the last minute for me so seated towards the back. Terrible traffic conditions saw problems for some en route, Nathen was nipping back and forth trying to catch his VIP guests - some only just made it! Azu as always was soo sweet and added Bridge over troubled waters to his set with Paul on keys. It's one of my fav songs, the hairs stood up on the back of my neck throughout. When Matt came on the faithful in the front section where immediately up but the majority stayed seated, certainly around me. As seen on the videos he did get a tad emotional towards the end, guitar promptly taken off but not quite thrown on the floor before leaving stage for the final time and tour end. To my knowledge he didn't appear afterwards outside. Whilst a few of us gathered in the now closed (????) bar area we literally bumped into Richard, Tom and Lorenzo coming through the door in search of a cold pint. Richard, bless stayed for a chat but the other two had more important issues on their minds, lol! From later pictures I saw that they did indeed find a pint! We found a little pub to quench our dry throats having been directed to a "suitable one" for us - this turned out to be a 1970 time warp of a place, karaoke and regulars staring at the strangers - I won't mention the rotating disco ball lights weaving around the walls making one feel sick, lol. Still it was a nice end for me. Faithless the fans singing this back loud and clear, a beautiful moment

The BAND What a talented bunch of true musicians !! I LOVE the live arrangements

Questions for next tour. Seats or standing and how many venues? For me I think it needs to be both with the band, standing for those who wish to but with seating available for those who physically can't stand for a whole gig or don't want too. It would be a shame to cut these folks out I feel, I noticed many who just simply liked to stay seated but still thoroughly enjoyed the gig Venue wise well I think doing soo many was jolly hard work for all concerned including those delicate pipes of his which got a real full work out every gig, never mind the physical exertion required. VIP Well I didn't take one of these but I saw folks going back for a second or even third one. The word "special" was frequently used so all in all I think it worked really well and was a good way of controlling an escalating problem after each gig.

Another studio album is being talked about, many want a live one too. I'm just very grateful that we have had a fabulous tour and now I just want him to take a break to recharge.”

Thanks for your report - been a busy few weeks, but it's going to get quiet for a while I suspect. He deserves a rest though - I wonder if he will go on a proper holiday in May, there is a gap in his diary between the Isle of Man gig and Uttoxeter.

That's a great picture at the skate park, and I have seen several people on Twitter suggest it should be his new profile picture. I would like that too - tbh I really don't like the picture he is using currently.

I really hope he does tbh. As for Uttoxeter, I'm going to get a day ticket OH wants to come along too. It's a nice site tho I haven't attended a festival there.

Cheers SSS too - a few pondering thoughts I needed to vent

Re seated v standing gigs. For me it will depend on the type of tour he does. If it is acoustic, then I think seated works well. But having done Bristol a few days after SBE, then I have to say for me that with the band it really ought to be standing. SBE was fantastic because there was a lot of hardcore fans determined to make it a great night. Everyone stood as soon as he came out and didn't sit for the rest of the night. So it might as well have been standing. But beautiful old venue as it was, I was still aware that I was in an old fashioned theatre. The O2 in Bristol just felt far more suitable for a gig with a band - there was a great atmosphere, even though I think there were far fewer hardcore fans.

In terms of how many gigs - he should do a lot of dates in Wales and the West ( ) other than that I have no real opinion.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, lol but yes, all determined to make it a great gig which the band & Matt soaked up I haven't been to Bristol but presume it was more modern from your comments? Seated does work well for acoustic tho I still figit to anything with a beat attached.

Anyhows, that's me off now. Night hon x

Thanks! Wonder if they are any good - and did they make it onto the TV auditions, as that's a pretty good number of followers for an unsigned band.

Well the tour is over but once again Matt and band have proved once again how awesome they are LIVE

Every song on the setlist was brilliant but i did particularly enjoy In Chains, Porcelain, This Trouble is Ours, Faithless and Letters (Goosebumpingly amazing vocals) and Matt and Mel C in Shepherds Bush was really good fun One song that really transformed as compared to the album version was WYWMG with the funky instrumental!

Looking ahead after the IOM gig on the 5th of May his next scheduled appearance is on the 25th of May at the "Burns Festival" Ayr so a good couple of weeks to possibly have some sort of break?

May 30th Acoustic Festival, Uttoxeter.
June 7th-8th Sportsbeat Fest, Gloucester.
June 14th Cumbria Pride, Carlisle.
July 4th 8 Day weekend, Saffron Waldon.
July 26th-27th Sausage and Beer Festival, Jimmys Farm Suffolk.

I like the idea of a "LIVE" CD/DVD to be released toward the end of the year as opposed to a brand new studio album!! A mixture of band and acoustic tracks and even some "covers" as a bonus CD would be great Clearly producing a "live" or "covers" album will be a lot easier than writing/recording/producing and everything else it takes to put out a 4th studio album?

Thank you all for the wonderful and warm welcome, I'm looking forward to posting more often on this thread

Are you from Scotland eldracttam? I was at the Edinburgh one with my daughter too (all she had heard in the car and house for months was Matt's CD's so was totally 'cardled' by then and was so excited to get to come along as my sister had to work at the last minute!)
I did debate before buying the tickets about getting seated or standing ones but in the end went for seated just from a comfort point of view and the fact they were reserved so it didn't matter what time we got there. We were upstairs right on the back row and ended up dancing to most of the songs anyway! (was nice to have a wee seat for the accoustic songs though).
I liked the Queen's Hall as a venue as its nice and intimate and the accoustics were great for carrying Matt's gorgeous voice. I loved all the songs but my favourite of the night was Letters, it definitely gave me goosebumps!
I think the Edinburgh crowd were maybe a wee but slow to get warmed up but once we did there was no stopping us, I certainly had a bit of a sore throat the next day due to all the singing He certainly rocked Edinburgh that night and I left there on such a high and wondering if I could make it Glasgow the next night for a second helping lol Unfortunately I had other commitments.

I love the idea of gig buddies and all meeting up before / after the show I hope to be able to join in for the next one.

Another great report piebaldlady, loved it!

Getting last but not working tomorrow so am off to view some videos on You Tube from Potters Resort

Judging by Twitter, there aren't many fans who aren't willing him to take a holiday - I think the general consensus is that he really needs to disappear and chill for a while. That does look like a nice empty diary gap - May could be a quiet month for cardling.

CARDLE CONFIRMED FOR OZ: You might remember last year that former UK 'X Factor' winner Matt Cardle teamed up w... http://bit.ly/1kcFzH0

Of course we could spend some of that quiet May keeping an eye on what is happening in Oz. Nice that the article says:

"Media interest in it is apparently already rather strong and it could be this track that sees Mister Cardle finally start to cut through in the local market."
