So apparently it's been confirmed that Rebecca Ferguson & James Arthur are performing on X Factor December 1st.
That's Rebecca wiping the floor with Leona in the first week sales then

What's the deal with Rebecca? Her voice isn't great, she really is BORING and she's not with Simons label so why are they promoting her? James's album sales have been a bit awkward also, maybe he shouldn't have been so arrogant!

and James is predictable and boring too imo. He always sings in the same tone. Barely understandable

I agree with both of you, I can't understand SYCO's plan for this. I know she is performing on December 8th and everything but I'm dreading the first week sales for this album. People say about it not just dropping after the first week but it wouldn't as by the time Christmas, With Love is in its second week, people will be buying Christmas albums like mad. I think we're just going to have to ignore the first week sales and focus on the impact the week after X Factor tbh.

but if she has tv/radio promo planned before or in the week of Dec 1st then she'll have decent first week sales, right? And the XF the week after will just boost it. That's how I think it will go.

Can't we see the amount of sales for pre order somehow?

Anyway I am not worrying about first week sales, chances are she'll have other promo lined up elsehwere that week.

Why dosen't she just push the Album back a week she's performing on X Factor.

I don't know how it will go to be honest, I'm preparing for the worst & just looking forward to the December 8th effect. You see someone like Jessie J who, this year, had a lot of radio play, two top 3 singles, a lot of promo etc and flopped.
To be fair Christmas albums haven't got the usual pressure of normal album first week sales.

I like Leona's new single One More Sleep and hope her album is very successful.

It's no shock really. I think I already mentioned that Rebecca will likely perform, when we learnt that Leona wasn't performing.

Apologies Manderley, I feel bad following your polite response. I don't mean to be insulting, I was making a point about the people who call Leona boring, Rebecca barely even squeaks. I guess the other statement regarding her voice is just my opinion.

I don't think that either Rebecca or Leona are boring, they are both just classy ladies.

Getting radio play, especially being a christmas song is way more important than chart positions or first week sales. or X factor performance timings

If she can get a radio hit with this then that will be the big win as it can then get re-cycled every year.

December 8th is perfect timing for the 'big one' as it's not too early ( 1st is just a tad too early for a Christmas song performance ) and fits in with people starting to get into the real swing of the Christmas holiday season.

No doubt there will be other promotion on release week anyway.

Because that would be crazy, that would mean she would only have just over two weeks to sell this album.

X Factor isn't everything, I am sure they will have other promo lined up that week. Maybe that is when she will be doing shows like This Morning etc.

on radio2 today they were mentioning the bookies and saying what the odds were for a few artists getting numero 1 at xmas as a segue into something or somebody they were about to interview but they failed to mention among there tiny little list one person !!

I have nothing against Rebecca, but her new song is honestly one of the most poorly written songs I've ever heard in my life. The chorus is literally "I hope" x1000000000....
I think she can do better tbh.

I love Rebecca and I don't like all this Rebecca hating, I love 'I Hope'. Although obviously Leona is my favorite ever singer so I'm a little bit dissapointed shes not performing then, but hopefully she can perform on XFUSA that weekend and promote in america?
