Couldn't find any other threads about this... I guess a lot of you guys haven't heard of a band called The 1975? They're my favourite band ever!!!
They have four singles and a number one album. 'Chocolate' also won BBC Radio 1's 'Best Song of the past 5 years' award, and the song was nominated for Best Song in the Teen Awards. Also they were nominated for best band in the Radio 1 Teen Awards as well

Have you heard of them? Do you like them?

I saw them at a free gig in Manchester back in February this year (playing for free outside the Etihad before an FA cup game ) and I thought at the time they were surprisingly good, wasn't expecting it at all.

I've been meaning to check out their album as well so thanks for reminding me by starting this thread, might go and give it a listen now!

I went to see The 1975 at Bristol a few months ago. It was one of the best nights of my life. Before I went in the lead singer Matty was stood right next to the arena outside a pub on his phone. I only realised it was him after I passed him and then got embarrassed and I didn't want to interrupt his phone call so I didn't even speak to him or get a photo... Huge regrets.

February?!?!? They must have been almost completely unknown back then... How many songs did they play?

Btw im pretty sure one of them is a United fan and I know Matty is a Newcastle fan.

Aye they were only playing on a tiny stage just outside the ground, they were introduced as an up and coming local band or something like that and played about 4 songs.

I just happened to be stood around in the general area with an hour to kill before kick off so figured I'd watch them, had no idea who they were and so wasn't expecting much but soon realised they were actually really good, as did most of the people around me. I remember making a point of finding out who they were for future reference.

You should like them, they have a song that shares a name with you

I love them at the moment, I brought their album a couple of months ago, and I haven't got bored of it yet, which is always a good sign

Yes! The album is still my favourite right now as it has been since the 2nd September. Still just as good. Apart from the first listen; you can't beat the first time you listen to a song and love it!

It's kinda weird the way they have pictures of tim Healy and Denise welch on stage at gigs.. Kind seems like he try's to ram his celeb parents in your face.. Blatantly try to trade off their fame..

They don't? I went to see them and there was no pictures of them? Would be a bit weird if there was.
Actually Matty gets annoyed when people bring up his parents in an interview.
