Disco Discharge
In the Scope shop I found for sale 16 double CD sets of the Disco Discharge compilations. I have never heard of them before but for £12 the lot in as new condition I gave them a punt. Well I'm really impressed. Extended versions of 70's and 80's dance tracks all with sleeve notes.
I'm surprised I missed these first time around. Were they special order or something? Anyone else got these sets? Got 'Digging Deeper' playing now. |

Saturate your ears! I think the same label now promotes Disco Recharge - which puts out original hard to find classics with alt/extended remixes etc.

the main label behind this called "harmless" did LOADS of great compilations of rare stuff like that. there is another similar label called BBE (barely breaking even) that started around the same time and did similar great releases. it's worth checking out those two labels

Thanks for the input. I remember there was some Disco Recharge for sale in the same box - I will check if they are still there. Anyway, still working my way through them and discovering some real jems. You can tell that who did these albums was a real music lover and not some marketing bloke.

£12 the lot? I think I'd be tempted to put a few extra quid Scope's way for that bargain!
![]() I only have Disco Fever USA, and it's a good collection. You can't beat the lyrics to 'Like an Eagle' - "Always searching, never perching." ![]() Another set of interesting albums are the Disco Demands collections. Don't let the smutmungous covers fool you, there's some good stuff in there. |

£12 for the lot?! That has to be the bargain of the century!
I've got most of the Disco Discharge series (ironically I am not really into disco music but I love the HiNRG, eurobeat and italo disco volumes). I have discovered some amazing songs through them and I love the way they have a mixture of 12" versions of well known 80s hits along with more underground club tracks. Some of my favourites off the top of my head include: Rose Laurens - American Love Ellie Warren - Satellites Sweet Connection - Need Your Passion Lisa Lougheed - Run With Us Laura Branigan - Self Control Liza Minnelli - Losing My Mind Eighth Wonder - I'm Not Scared Sabrina - Boys (Dub) Fun Fun - Baila Bolero Radiorama - Hey Hey If you are into your 80s music I can't recommend these highly enough
