Keep SIR BRUCE For Strictly Big Shows?- With Bit More Time Off He Could Go On 4 Years

Keep SIR BRUCE For All The Strictly Come Dancing Big Shows ? - With A Bit More Time Off He Could Go On For Years and Years.

With Sir Bruces Strictly Star Shinning High and Bright with record X Factor beating ratings every week, with some careful management by The BBC Sir Bruce could Carry on At the Strictly Top for years to come.

I know that this scenario would mean us having to endure more Strictly shows with the gushy girls in charge, but this would be a small price to pay for keeping our Sir Bruce at the Strictly helm and in tip top condition for years to come.

Would you sign a petition to go to the BBC for this scenario, or would you still need a little convincing ?

It would take more than a LITTLE convincing. In fact I couldn't be convinced no matter what you offered me.

That's probably the worst suggestion you could come up with. Can you imagine him being wheeled out in a wheelchair, waving and saying "You've all done very well." while leching after his nurse.

Why should he get the chance to ruin the "big" shows having ruined the others for the last couple of years!

Great idea! Anything that creates less of him on TV, the better. Well done.

I bet your idea was to generate the reverse response, but suspect it has backfired.

I'm rather tired of your sweeping statements Terry!! You don't and cannot think for the forum. I personally cannot stand Bruce. He ruins the fluidity of the show. Good riddance I say!

YESSSS..... ANYthing that keeps him going for longer is perfect.

The show will be a shadow of itself when Brucie is not on it. There is no one who can carry a show like this and bring in the enormous audiences, from kids to pensioners.

I doubt he'll be alive in four years' time, never mind behind the helm of the most watched show on UK TV.

At 85, Bruce has had a marvellous career. The time is now overdue for him to gracefully retire and make way for a younger host. (Shane Ritchie?).

I assume the OP wants him to work until he hits 90. This may be possible if

1. they allow him to present the entire show sitting down

2. Rob Bryden, hidden behind a screen, reads all his lines whilst doing a good impression whilst

3. Brucie lip-syncs the words.....

Brucey's presenting now is pretty horrific, the thought of him in four years time is terrifying. I assume he would have completely lost it.

"eunghgn..comingtogetme...enughtlhg...justwanttosleep..eunghg..CUDDLY TOY...jdhdurhhrhfy..you'remyfavourite..uehjrher" - or something to that effect.

That being said, he's pretty much built into the foundation of the show so when he eventually does leave it, it won't quite be the same.

Also! Hello everyone New strictly fan coming to grouse and chatter with like minded strictlyites.

SCD would never have got off the ground, IMO, without Brucie at the helm. But the time has come for him to step aside. Or is he going to wait until he trips and falls live on TV?

Arlene was emptied out for the crime of reaching 65 (0r was it 70?) - why she did not go to a tribunal, I have no idea. She would have won with ease - get rid of a woman in her 60's - but keep a man in his 80's......

Time to hang up your presenting jacket Bruce and enjoy the show from the comfort of your own home.

I'm sure Bruce is grateful for all the advice.

Sir Bruce always listens to his fans paul, they are what motivates him to pull out the big performances every week.

A bit more time off next series to help him recuperate from the stress of high quality live performing would ensure that Strictlys ratings remain sky high.

Are you looking forward to Sir Bruce taking the Strictly helm on the show in a few hours later today Paul ?

I've mentioned before, they did something like that with "Dixon of Dock Green."

Jack Warner became so old, they just wheeled him on to stand in front of the Police Station door, at the beginning of every programme to say, "Evenin' all," then wheeled him off and you didn't see him again until the end, when they wheeled him on to say, "Mind how you go."

It made him look completely ridiculous.
Bruce is already looking a bit ridiculous, so the BBC might as well go the whole hog.

Arlene Phillips's disgusting character assassination of John Sergeant saw her off. It was nothing to do with her age.

There are 365 days in a year and SCD is filmed for one day per week for the last two and half months of the year. So Brucie's workload is perhaps 15 days a year. So yes give him more time off.

That's not quite true, he did do a "tour" I think of three concert dates which he had to promote himself. Then there was the commercial he made for his dire CD, (yes it was, snatches of it were played) to sell on a shopping channel.

You seriously think that Bruce just needs to do less shows to stop becoming less and less competent

As has been said, he doesn't actually do that many days in a year as it is.

No, I am afraid I don't at all see his declining abilities as being mainly down to the stress of not that many shows.

I am pretty sure it is unfortunately fundamentally linked to the aging process and will continue even in much fewer shows.

I do so wish he would himself announce that he is retiring after this series and then leave with dignity and indeed wide acclaim.

Not a bad compromise. Wheel him out on the odd big occasion. Even then though they really should tell him to zip it a load more. Does he have a producer yakking in his earpiece? He does witter on incessantly.

I'd rather he retired but I'd welcome giving him less airtime.

Bruce is arrogant enough to believe he does not need an earpiece - hence the wittering.

Fair point so about 20 days a year or about what many of the rest of us get as paid holiday.

Lol I never watched Dixon of Dock Green but that's sad. I do think bruce has got a bit more life left in him yet but I was so worried the other week when he cocked up the auto cue and really thought he was having a stroke. Hopefully he'll know when it's time to retire.

Angela Lansbury is still treading the boards at 88 and other actors have acted into their 90s but of course it depends on their health and motivation. Some people only feel alive when they're performing and so who are we to take that pleasure away from Bruce?

Sir Bruce is a Living Legend Entertainer, its the producers who should have ear pieces to learn a thing or two.

He has never been as good as he thinks.

A competent music hall artiste but hyped way beyond his abilities in later years.

Presenting game shows with facile catch phrases does not a legend make.
