I was exactly the same (especially when she was with Nicky Byrne). Find her a bit odd. I did find her "Get in!!!" on tonight's show hilarious though.

Aliona is another one I've never been able to warm to - she always comes over frosty and a little stand-offish to me.

I think Aliona mellowed out a bit lately. Or maybe I did. The problem is we don't really know any of them, we only see the image they are projecting. An introvert person often comes across as standoffish and conceited.

A PoundLand version of Vincent, but sleazier and less charming...

I think Giovanni is hilarious! He's totally playing up to the caricature of what people would think he is imo.

I have literally no problem with so called "boring" steps being sacrificed by Gleb and Anita in the charleston but if they start performing ballroom dances with hardly anything in hold I'll get bored of the routines really quickly. They should be alright this week with AS because you don't really have to do that much in hold but if they do their actual VW with hardly any natural turns and reverse turns then it almost definitely won't go down very well with Len. Or me (and I've been voting for them.) It's like the difference between doing a different dance but dressed in the costume of a ballroom dancer and being an actual ballroom dancer imo.

And Russell Grant. Which means Lisa Riley is somewhere in the wings, too

My concern with Gleb is that by avoiding the boring steps he is also avoiding enabling Anita to learn basic technique / steps.

No actual penguin costumes the spectre of Scott loomed too large I suspect

What technique/steps cross over from the charleston? He seems to be teaching VW for the AS & she did conventional cha cha

I agree, there was enough examples that a dance can contain basic steps and be exciting and that it does not need any improvements. But it's ultimately about what Anita wants.

I guess you could reuse some in a strictly quickstep.

Also, what was Ian on about saying the AS was usually a foxtrot or a quickstep. FT for sure, but it's not meant to be done as a QS, is it?”

Hi Fridge, where can I see the 'Gleb ravishing' bit?

Typical!
It was in Ian Waite's bit on last night's ITT, I think (or was it when Anita and Gleb were on the sofa??)

Purely for scientific analysis you understand. I saw the sofa clip and the training video, so it must be Ian Waite's. Hm, maybe it will show up on youtube at some point ........sigh!

That was just one instance. ..it's not like he said that he was going to do it in every one of their dances .so far he has given her a Lot of content in their routines; even in their AS smooth. ..seems jam packed of content.

I imagine the Anita and Gleb drag move will look like the one in this dance about 3.5 minutes in. It did look like a proper 'wow' dance on Ian's training footage. Anita seems to be fearless, fair play to her. ( hope the link works)

As much as I love Aljaz, I wonder how he, Helen, Kirsty & Brendan managed to bag a spot on the live show 2 weeks on the trot?

I imagine ITT appearances are scheduled around other commitments - Helen is currently filming CTM and I presume Kirsty is still on Sky Sports, so it may be that Friday when they move into the studio for rehearsals is the only day they can get them at the moment?

Thanks for the link - it worked fine

Yes I think that's the 'drag' move we saw yesterday in Ian's warm up. Where was that footage from?
