I am all for Remembrance, poppy wearing,and will be attending a ceremony this Sunday.
However some of the poppy wearing on television is just daft. I mean they've got footage of them in the rehearsal studio and they're all in their casual gear - and they're wearing poppies. What on earth for? Who wears a poppy when they're in the gym? Or rehearsing for a show?
It's as if the producers are terrified that if they're not seen to be wearing poppies all the time,somebody will phone up and complain or something. "They were not wearing poppies on Strictly Takes Two! What an insult to those who gave their lives for this country!"
I really don't think that's likely to happen.
At least they had the sense not to make them all wear poppies on their Halloween outfits last week. That would just have looked ridiculous.
