Lynne and Simon have to be the nastest couple I've seen on the show, bitter and vile! Glad they didn't win!

I thought his prices were way too high, BUT to be fair to him he was the only ONE who voted and paid in the proper manner. Kudos to him. I think he behaved very well. He didnt not do MASSIVE underpayments like lynne did taking 25.00 off for a bit of dust.....

No i think actually John was fair....

John was fair.

I was praying for an overpayment for Cley Hall & thankfully it arrived. Everyone knew Lynne and Simon would grossly underpay, and they happily obliged, proving everyone right

Nasty pair.

You could be right..But the Spalding place was by far the best of the week....and as for the Yurts...no ta

The winning place was the deserving winner, and I would happily stay there, but not at any of the other places. John behaved well and fairly at payment time, but his attitude to his own place let him down. I cannot be be bothered with people who over price something and then say it is for a "niche market". Value = value, and if you don't deliver for pompous reasons you are failing your customers. Same as the yurts, very overpriced.

I agree with this^^ She had a go about the ratings systems, with spitting hate, but she is not, imo, giving a value for money product, and classifying it as "different" does not make it value.

I agree with this too, she should have confronted Lynn, but didn't. Yet again on FIAB the couples pick on the single person.

I've just caught up with last nights and yes, Lynne and Simon were bitter and vile. However, the thing that shone out of them the most was their jealousy.

I would have loved to have seen them come last. I think they would have exploded if John had beaten them. I wouldn't go to Lynne and Simon's place even if it was a palace.

They were a really sour pair. I was delighted they didn't win, and that they well and truly made chumps of themselves on national TV. I think they've joined the list of those participants that viewers remember purely because of their nastiness.

Is anyone watching the old ones on More4 this afternoon? Slimmeria etc
Blimey, there always seems to be a mean person involved.
Just looked up the Ombersley B&B that was just on, their website says about being on FIAB but that was in 2011. Seems they might not be trading anymore. Galia still seems to be starving everyone at her place 😉

She was on the Auction House recently a few times on Channel 4. She owns several properties in London and elsewhere with her husband Terry Thomas.

Yes, she was, wasn't she? And I saw her on the builders series the other week, falling out with everyone.
Her hubby looks like he should be next to the word 'spiv' in the dictionary ☺

I'm sure Gaia complained that her room in a B£B didn't have a seaview. The B&B was 3 miles from the coast.

Galia didn't actually complain, she said her "imagination" of a B&B in Cornwall was that it would be beside the sea. She knew of course the B&B she visited was not at the coast, she was on the show to promote her spa business, and give her a due she did not let an opportunity slip I rather enjoyed re-watching that programme, I had forgotten a lot of it, I don't think Anne was mean, a bit feisty for sure but not nasty and her husband was delightful. Lynne and Simon were as mean-spirited as each

Looking at humpty dumpties comment below, the whole show is a joke when you realise that the "winners" the cley hall bloke and woman in spalding have only appeared on the program to get more money for their hotel which surprise surprise has been up for sale on the market for £695 thousand since feb 2014. makes you wonder what is genuine and what isn't doesn't it.. money grabbers.. http://www.colliersproperty.co.uk/ho...palding/213940

Did you sign up just to say that? It sounds a very personal and pretty unpleasant comment. I don't follow your logic anyway. Why would being on the programme get them more money, and how are they 'money grabbers'?

Did they actually OWN the Spalding hotel, or merely manage it? Unsure.

My thoughts exactly. How stupid were this couple not to realise that showing their ugly side would just hurt their business.

I remember Galia, her spivvy looking husband and their health spa. Certainly she was a bit full on about it at times, but she used the show in exactly they way I would, promote yourself and your B&B, positively as possible. The only one's I didn't like that week were the couple (both a bit 'rotund', maybe this was Lynn and Simon?), who slagged her off non stop and pulled down her curtains or something.

I missed yesterdays repeat but the strangest thing I remember about that week was the couple who won having an almighty melt down when they were doing their breakfast calling it a complete and total disaster and being very upset about it. But then I think everyone else thought it was perfect and gave them 10's!

So what? Seems like a good idea to me - they won fair and square so I find you moaning irrelevant. Smart business move rather than 'money grabbers'.
They also took the chance of it being slated - so your point does not stand up.

When you go to the Trip Advisor site for Lynn's place, it seems that every criticism made when someone is not happy, is immediately dealt with as if the customer is somehow the problem.
I also noticed on their Facebook page that she has complained about "trolls" wanting to ruin her business. I mean really, did she not think that her atrocious behaviour would raise the ire of viewers. I suspect however that it's simply the fact that she and her husband can't take criticism.

I'm utterly thrilled that she didn't win and I'm even happier Cley Hall won. I don't care if they used the show to help them sell or not, it was obviously still well worth it. As for Simon and Lynn, well, I can safely say I wouldn't even want to stop at their place for lunch, let alone stay there. I took an immediate dislike to the snobs. I'd be afraid they'd have something snide to say about the way I look anyway.

Richard you can look back through my posts and see that I've made the same observation, even taking into account that some online reviews probably are spurious. There's a definite edge to responses given by both of them and they seem as though they can only deal with glowing praise.

Welcome to the forum Alan.
I find that a very strange comment though. Vendors can ask for an increased marketing price for any property, over and above the agent's valuation, but a current business will also have an operating value as well and the books will be open for inspection, so I don't know why you say 'money grabbers'

Actually though, your post's made me think. It's by no means uncommon to find that properties from this programme are either up for sale, or, have changed hands between filming and airing the show.

Perhaps some of the contestants are actually contacted to appear because the producers trawl sales and marketing listings and that's how they find some of their venues?
It's often the case that the contestants say they haven't seen the programme before taking part, so that could well be part of the producers' modus operandi.
