The burping maybe but the comment was just a joke. He needs to lighten up.

I suppose it could be, or both (Mackintosh design produced by Liberty) it just isn't a design I'd have thought anyone would immediately identify as Liberty iyswim?”

It's still either or neither with me. I dunno. Perhaps you'll have to contact the hotel to find out!

I posted a link earlier today. They're the managers of the hotel, it's part of quite a large chain called Relax Inzz.

Looks like they could possibly tap into the speciality market too
Link to newspaper report.

They handled it well and the place looks lovely

I looked at one review and it said something about a nightclub next door and went on till 3.30 am,, i'm surprised that wasnt mentioned today, unless the nightclub was closed for the visit

I think he mentioned the burp(ing) language and the fact that she had a pint.
I think he doesn't think she's elegant or ladylike enough. She made the mistake of thinking she was with friends rather than guests I reckon

I'm not that worried

A club on site going on until that time in the morning would've definitely cost them marks I think. I wonder how much call there is for late night clubbing in Coleford? perhaps it only runs at the weekends?

I'm surprised the production team didn't have them hosting ghost hunts and milked it for all it's worth.

Yes, it is. Wonder how she'd have taken it if someone had made a jokey comment about her getting her tits out. Also, working in the naturist industry, Tim is probably all too aware of the diplomacy required. He knows from his own business that it is rude and out of place to comment on other people's bits! She needs to get some manners and get that ring or whatever it is out of her lip! Yuk!

Thing is though that the section on the hosts is a complete red herring - if you book into the Angel tomorrow you won't be taken out for the day and then treated to a boozy meal by the managers. Your interaction will simply be collecting your key and, if unlucky, reporting any issues with the room.

Quite! We went out recently with friends for a meal at a very nice pub/hotel (taxi used, so no issues with alcohol before anyone asks ). The pub serves excellent ale. The drinks order on arrival was 2 pints of bitter, a pint of lager, and a large red wine. The 2 pints of bitter were for the females in our group. A customer who was staying at the pub, and sitting at the next table to us, leaned over and said he would like to tell the ladies how refreshing he found it to see ladies enjoying a pint.

Nice to see Tim knows the rules

Pint for the gentleman, glass of white wine or fruit-based beverage for the lady

7 was a ridiculous remark, especially when his written comment criticised other peoples' breakfasts (hardly within his remit?) and went on to say that his breakfast was "fine"

I find little Timmy Todger loathsome.

Well, if one of the male contestants comments to one of the female contestants if she happens to be in a low cut top that she has nice tits/small tits, that's fine and she'll need to lighten up. Because it's only a joke innit.

I find the older male of the first couple a pompous oaf.

He had a lot better manners in the sauna than most users would have, in not politely suggesting to the t shirt and shorts wearer that it was actually quite unacceptable to wear outdoor clothes in there.

Exactly. He's supposed to be marking his own experience not someone else's. He is extremely over critical about things that are just not in the context of the programme, like burping.

What about personal remarks? They aren't nice in any context. I'm sure she'd love it if somebody to her face criticised her looks. It isn't on to make 'jokes' of that ilk to paying guests.

It wouldn't encourage me to give somebody a good feedback if I had been on the receiving end of it. If she worked at a gym and called somebody sent on a doctor's exercise programme fat, her feet wouldn't touch the floor.

Belching like that at a dinner table isn't really needed.

I agree with ^^^. But she was appearing in front of a bigger audience on a TV prog! Not the best way to show herself in the best light but then so many show themselves up on this prog!

He's definitely over-critical.

Burping must come under the first question on the feedback form about the hosts. So it was in the context of the programme as the participants are asked to score and comment on the hosts.

So somebody is lambasted the day before yesterday for being polite and passing no personal comments.

Somebody yesterday passes a very personal impolite comment and it's a joke.

I think there was a very marked difference in the hosting and it's there where youth and inexperience showed.

The Johns and Tim behaved as they would behave in front of paying guests (apart from the valid point about regular guests not socializing with the proprietors) whereas it seemed to me that Layla particularly had a false sense of security and behaved at dinner as though she was with her personal friends.

I'm not defending it but I do feel that after seeing the programme back, she'll probably take it as a lesson learned.
