So would I. I used to regularly stay at a hotel in Cologne - the Maritim I think - and among various other options incl 'full English' they had a large range of fishy items for brekkie - smoked salmon, big peeled prawns, various smoked or marinated fish - and it was the highlight of my stay. I adored that hotel mainly on the basis of breakfast.

It irritates me. I do the top of wardrobes, door frames etc as a matter of course but no one's stay would be seriously damaged by a smear of 'clean dust' somewhere the guest would never touch.

Yes. I already know I would not book at Graham's.

Without doubt. But the production team can't force participants to mark an owner down for it.

I screamed. OH rushed in thinking there was a humungous spider (at the very least) on my lap. Onesies are worse...

Wasn't it outside? I thought it was inside at first and then wondered if it was a security thing - in case of fire, you don't want to be flailing around a room trying to find the key to let yourself out... but I think it may have been outside the room. As it's an old door, perhaps a 'knack' was required to free the key.

I'm pretty sure that the money is given to the owners by the production team and if the owners elect to
overpay, the production team bridge the gap between room price and that paid.
I'd stay at tonight's property. I really liked it - a sort of Arts & Crafts vibe about the house. And I liked the owners too - particularly Mrs Hostess whose name escapes me.
