I'd frankly prefer Not Going Out if its the only other one making an effort.
Anyway we have the 2230ish slot now; it'll be John Bishop’s Christmas Show.”

Don't see why the following wouldn't work:
Christmas Day
3.00 The Queen
3.10 Film: Kung Fu Panda 2
4.35 Film: Toy Story 3
6.10 BBC News
6.20 Strictly Come Dancing
7.30 EastEnders
8.00 Doctor Who
9.00 EastEnders
9.30 Still Open All Hours
10.00 Mrs Brown's Boys (1/2)
10.30 Catherine Tate's Nan
11.05 News
11.15 John Bishop's Christmas Show
Nan got 8m on her last Christmas Day outing in the 10.30 slot. She's nailed on for that same slot, absolutely cast iron nailed on. MacIntyre peaked at over 8m at 11.10pm after Downton finished, and averaged 8.5m in the officials for a programme that I think aired 10.30 to 11.30pm. So you can see why BBC bosses are itching to do the same thing again.
I still don't know about Open All Hours. That's the one thing from my schedule above that could go on another night - eg, Boxing Day after Call the Midwife, especially now that Mrs Browns is confirmed as Christmas and then New Year. So that could bring Bishop forward 30 mins.
