Both you and I know it will not be scheduled on New Year's eve especially. The Len Goodman clips show won't get a prime slot either like the Matt Lucas awards show thing. Why bother with the trolling?

Well the number of episodes was listed as 8 and only 7 aired, so i assume that was the Xmas special. Anyway i don't see why ITV wouldn't use it, since it would give them a good figure over the Xmas period as it did before.
Citizen Khan looks like Christmas Eve. Even if it has been penned in for the Friday before, it's in the 52/53 highlights, so it must be airing from Saturday 21st onwards.
Made some changes to the fantasy schedule in light of BBC1's press pack:
I'm pretty sure an Outnumbered special IS happening, and the fact that it wasn't mentioned last year suggests it probably is. Pretty sure Takeaway isn't happening though as when would they record it? No date is pencilled in, it hasn't been filmed yet and they won't have time after I'm A Celebrity as they're doing Text Santa.

"Still Open All Hours" must be hoping for a similar audience given its old fashioned comedy roots based in studio sitcom. There just aren't the same amount of comedies throughout the year amy more.

Deja Vu. Everyone was saying the exact same thing about the Michael McIntyre Christmas Roadshow 2 years ago. Also it's 10.30pm not 9pm.
A few years ago BBC 1 shut up shop at 10.30pm and last year it finished at 10.45pm with a Dibley rerun after the news.
I think it might get the 10pm slot on Christmas Eve though.

Its one thing BBC One should try harder on I feel. They dont spend on comedy like they used to. And I noticed Tony Hall omitted it from his commitments when chatting to Jeremy Vine on how he wants to invest. I think they should get writers working on new ideas and scripts rather than waiting for the next script to flop on their desk. They just dont seem to be in contact with talent.

I don't think the format lends itself that well to Christmas Day due to the not-Live nature and everyone knowing this.

This looks really reasonable actually, I haven't put much thought into Nan.
Do you think the Beeb could put Still Open All Hours on after Mrs Brown for a comedy lead in?
If at all that is. Boxing Day might be a good place; am not sure how I feel reading the synopsis it would fit Christmas.
Mrs Brown should be 40 minutes a well.
EDIT TO Add:
Vicar of Dibley had 3.23M at 2300 last year, but that was a 20% share, so we'll see. Whatever happens they should do better in that slot.

Tv comedy has certainly lost its way in the last 10 years or so.

They had to pre-record one episode due to a production strike and that wasn't too badly effected. They could easily do the same thing again.

I doubt open all hours will be Xmas day; for better or worse, Roy Clarke is 83 and hasn't written anything except Last of Summer Wine since 1995, and the last 6-7 years of Summer Wine were awful (okay they had cast changes imposed on them but still).
Maybe I'll be wrong, I hope I am, but I guess the odds of Open All Hours 2013 being any good are long, and I doubt they'll put it on Xmas day.

The 2007 Christmas special of Not Going Out was set on Christmas Day but was screened on December 21st.
They may have moved Khan from Friday 20th when they realised it was Text Santa on that night and not Corrie,
I predict Khan to go out Monday 23rd against Corrie.
