Don't you think Brendan can be very well....bent over in a lot of dances, especially the jive.
Straighten up Brendan

and pull your sleeves down

I think they did. Loved it and they were robbed. Deserved 10's -certainly not a rubbish 7.

I think the trouble with Brendan's routines are they are instantly forgettable. You may watch and think 'oh that was good', but by the end of the show, you're struggling to remember any of it.
The exception of course being the Charleston.

He's not my favourite pro but I have no difficulty remembering many if his routines. I think he's a talented choreographer who pushes his partners.

But then the most talented in this area do push, he and Artem spring to mind.

Fair enough. For me, they don't stick in my mind for very long. The only Brendan routine I think I've watched more than once or twice is Bacofoil.

I shall always be grateful to him for providing me with the comedy moments on SCD - the tantrums, sulks with judges, idiotic but hilarious routines, hysterical speeches about girls and boys (tsk, tsk) and for reminding me that, even though Australia has priduced some ace rugby, great humour, and lovely big butch men, there is an always the exception to the rule. A Brenda.

Lol! Brendan is from New Zealand. Any other discrepancies in your post...

Jason Donovan pointed out his ego too.”

Errrm, Jason Donovan was on Strictly the same year as Brendan was partnered with Lulu. He would very possibly have formed a different opinion of Brendan in another year, watching a different partnership. The partnership with Lulu was a disaster from the moment they were paired together.

Jason was paired with Kristina, don't think Brendan and Kristina get on especially after he ringed her as the vainest on ITT segment last week.

It's natural that some pairings wont gel. James has certainly had issues, Lilia did, Artem was called a bully, I think over his pushing of Kara in the early weeks.

And I'm not sure I would take much notice of what Jason had to say anyway he took it all so very, very seriously.

Which would also have affected Jason's opinion of Brendan.

Jason might be correct that Brendan has an ego but I do think that in general, Brendan does more to showcase his partners than Kristina does, although she did do very well by Jason.

To be fair, when your celeb partner has limited talents and/or aptitudes and skills for dancing you tend to try to compensate for it, and in Kristina's case for Ben this year, like Colin Salmon's year, she resorts to dancing, flailing, climbing and swinging around him frantically... Not a pretty sight I tell'ya.

And yet Kristina managed to showcase John Sergeant very well without all the distraction, so she does know how to showcase a celeb partner, even one who's a poor dancer, she just doesn't do it.

Think Brendan is best at showcasing Brendan.

John was hopeless, not merely limited like Colin and Ben. In the same token she completely flopped with the hopeless Joe, and that's not an euphemism...

Brendan does the opposite and showcases his partners no matter their skill level
Others Kristina, aliona, ola, Kevin showcase their own

I agree, he matches their level as far as possible and doesn't try to out-dance his partner - in fact, he even went out of sight during the Charleston to allow Sophie to perform some of it completely alone, because she was so capable at this particular dance.

Brenden is one of the top three pros, choreographers and teachers ever on the show. He is wonderfully generous with his partners and pushes them to achieve the best they can achieve.
None of the other pros showcase themselves. That is all in the minds of the commenters hereabouts.

I would disagree about Brendan pushing his celebrity partners to achieve their best. I really do think Sophie has the ability and talent to be much better than she is. Brendan does not seem to know how to get her to show it.

Michelle Williams positively blossomed the week Ian covered for Brendan.

She did but equally I thought Holly & Brendan were excellent together when Artem was injured.
