Episode: 32

Air Date: 11th March

Extract: “The roofs about to fall” George said. “The flames are rising, EVERYONE GET BACK” Chris yelled. The roof shattered from the ceiling and the flames latched onto more rubble and created a glowing orange explosion sending rubble flying and guests diving out the way. The campervan walls burnt down releasing Darcy. Diane and Eve had escaped from upstairs which was now blocked from debris. Rosanna, Hilda, Becky, Lorraine, Stefan and George were trapped by more burning debris.

Writing the campervan crash was a very tricky challenge, it was my first time writing a stunt (But it won’t be my last, hint, hint). I found it a tricky episode but I enjoyed it whilst I read back, overall I liked the community aspect of the episode but it ended up rather confusing which is why it’s only 6th.

Episode: 81

Air Date: 11th October

Extract: Leo raised his arm up to the camera and rolled back his sleeve revealing many fresh cuts and scars running all the way down his arm. “This is what I’ve done to myself, look at what I’ve done. It’s the only way I can gain control over myself, is well, by slashing bits of my skin off. It’s so satisfying, picking a knife, scissors, anything you can find and slashing straight through the skin, hitting the bone, watching the blood dribble down your arm and you can think to yourself, look at what I’ve done, I’ve got the control back, I’m in control of who I am, but then, you lose that sense of pride, so you dig right to the bone again, you gain back the power and you repeat it day after day, whenever something bad happens, you seize control by doing the only possible thing” Leo blubbered.

This was probably the trickiest episode I’ve ever written, I spent a while structuring it, as soon as I decided to do a Digital Soap first and have a one hander I’d spent months structuring it and thinking of sickening things Leo could talk about. I may have drabbled on a bit and I regret Leo not revealing everything about Damien but that’s why I love Leo as a character, I try not portray him as perfect but it seems as if everything he has done for the sake of not hurting others! The extract above was one I really found hard to write, my mouth felt dry and a tear rolled down my eye after reading it back, Leo has been possibly one of my favourite characters, but that’s a poll for another day!

Episode: 28

Air Date: 1st March

Extract: “I, Amy, take you, Josh, to be my friend, my lover, and the father of our children” Amy beamed and Wendy Price walked into the church. Amy looked at Wendy and continued her vowels “and my husband. I will be yours in times of plenty and in times of want, in times of sickness and in times of health, in times of joy and in times of sorrow, in times of failure and in times of triumph. I promise to cherish and respect you, to care and protect you, to comfort and encourage you, and stay with you, for all eternity." Amy continued and smiled and Josh. Amy began to cry and Josh broke into a big grin.

Oh Amy and Josh, what a lovely couple, considering Amy cheated on him with Joel, they’re pretty tight, I really loved getting into the wedding atmosphere of the episode, I’m glad the first Digital Square wedding belonged to Amy and Josh although it’s hard to make future wedding in Digital Square a bit more different. I really liked introducing characters such as Eddie and Chloe Trent and this episode gave Ruby a chance to shine as she had her first love interest. I felt this episode had a real community aspect and I found it entertaining which is why it’s ranked 4th!

Episode: 38

Air Date: 29th March

Extract: “HE HIT ME, HE ATTACKED ME, He was the one who attacked me on Christmas day, he’s been hitting me and hurting me ever since, I’ve been too scared to admit it, because I loved Scott, I loved everything about him and was too scared to tell anyone, but Scott, YOU’RE A BLOODY MONSTER, You’re a filthy wife beater who uses anger because he’s so hurt and weak to control himself” Becky sobbed. “Shut up Becky, you’re lying” Scott said as he tried to hug Becky. Becky stood frozen and unsure what to say. Josh stared at Scott and clenched his fist and punched Scott in the nose. “Don’t touch Becky, Don’t touch Amy, get away from here” Josh warned.

“You’re sick Scott, get outta here” Martha said and guests murmured their agreements. “I love you Becky” Scott said. “You loved hitting me, you loved the power, you were the only one who loved me, but now I have my friends, I have my family, I don’t need you, I don’t love you” Becky said. Hilda hugged Becky.
I really thought this was a terrific conclusion to Becky & Scott’s domestic abuse storyline, I enjoyed writing the moment Becky revealed the extent of Scott’s abuse and I loved writing the moment she reunited with her mother after years of blanking her. I felt this was a real turning point for the character, it’s just a shame the ending is part of Chris’s two episode chlamydia storyline which is probably equivalent to Ash having meningitis in Hollyoaks. None the less, I felt it was a fun, punchy and well structured episode!

Episode: 70

Air Date: 23rd August

Extract: “Finally, you showed up” Hannah Jones grinned. “Hannah, I need to speak to you, I welcomed you into our home, I trusted you but all that time you were sleeping with my husband” Savannah screamed. “Go talk to Ricky about it, he was more than happy to go behind your back” Hannah smirked. “You really are one hell of a bitch” Savannah sneered. “Ricky loved every minute, he loved having fun, he said that he wished you were more like me” Hannah whispered. “Shut up” Savannah warned. “We couldn’t keep our hands off each other” Hannah sneered. “Shut up” Savannah screamed. “He loved it” Hannah smirked. Suddenly Savannah swung her bag at Hannah’s face, Hannah’s lip started bleeding. Hannah raised her palm and prepared to slap Savannah but Savannah wrapped her hands around Hannah’s throat. Hannah started choking, she started gagging. Hannah was weak and drowsy. Savannah suddenly let go but Hannah fell back and banged her head on the boat and then collapsed into the lake. Hannah’s body sunk to the bottom of the lake and began to bob up and down.

Oh Hannah, you really were a bitch, but seriously, I really loved using flashbacks to explain Hannah’s death, I didn’t think it would feel right if we didn’t see the moment Savannah killed Hannah, I’m glad I wrote it as an accident, Savannah would never be a cold-blooded killer, despite Savannah having a large motive I never really considered her killing Hannah which is the reason I chose her as Hannah’s killer. I felt like the episode flowed naturally although the ending was odd as no one went to the police but hey, it’s fictional. There’s still plenty of drama in stall for Savannah and the remaining Tomlinson’s!

Episode: 76

Air Date: 23rd September

Extract: Hilda, Martha, Chris, Dolly, Yvonne, Tyler, Diane, Tess, Gavin and Sky were sitting around two pushed together tables in The Oak Barn. “D’you hear about Leo then?” Diane asked. “It’s all over the local papers, Oakside Echo is reporting it as suicide and the Gazette is well, a guilty conscience related to the murder of homophobe Hannah Jones, same spot and everything” Sky said. “Yeah but the Gazettes a load of cock and bull” Martha said. “Yeah, Leo would never hurt a fly, he was a sweet lad, dunno what drove him too it” Hilda said. Tyler shifted uncomfortably in his seat. “We should get home Tyler, don’t exactly wanna hear about a suicide in the lake over there, it’s been cornered off as well, flowers and stuff has been left there, not looking promising” Chris said. “Oh, sorry Tyler, don’t suppose you know anything?” Hilda asked. “Why would I?” Tyler said quickly. “Is there anything at school, rumours? He was an ex pupil, you must have heard something from older students who knew Leo, I think a lot of people knew Leo, he was loved in Little Haven” Hilda said as she looked at Gavin and then to Tyler. “He is loved, don’t speak in past tense” Tess said. “Nothing” Tyler muttered and walked off with Chris.

It’s the aftermath of Leo’s suicide! This episode to me showed what Digital Square was about, it was about the community, it mixed love and warmth with grittiness and horror. I loved involving the majority of the characters in the story as Leo’s bullying has been the biggest story Digital Square has told! I felt like I had to dedicate a scene to Rosanna, I don’t think anyone knew Leo better than her, even Gem! Rosanna crying against Rob was the begging of a tough time for her and she soon suffered from an eating disorder which will continue to play out. This episode has also a turning point for Eve Foster as she became homeless and has become untrustworthy and no one will speak to her, well after killing her mother, giving Chris chlamydia and framing her sister, she kinda got off lightly. Anyway, that’s my top ten episodes!

Opening Titles

Jason, Ashley and Honey walked into Little Haven. A middle-aged man stood by the counter. “No, let’s go” Ashley said. “Why?” Honey asked. “Let’s just leave, before he sees us” Ashley said. “Who?” Honey asked. “Ashley, Jason” The man beamed. “Charlie” Ashley sighed. “It’s dad to you” Charlie Knight smiled. “Hello Charlie, I’m Honey Jones” Honey smiled. “Hello Honey, I’m Ashley’s father” Charlie smiled as he shook her hand. “Well, nice chatting, let’s sit down” Jason said quickly. “Come join us Charlie” Honey smiled. “No, just go Charlie, we don’t wanna see ya” Jason said. “Why not?” Charlie asked. “You left us when we were kids and now you just expect everything to be okay” Ashley said. “See ya around then” Charlie said and walked off.

Diane Longstaff sat in The Oak Barn. Becky Davies walked in and accidently nudged Diane’s chair. “Oh, sorry” Becky sighed. “Its fine” Diane" said and Diane quickly took out a leaflet which she hid inside a book. “What was that?” Becky asked. “Nothing” Diane said quickly. Becky picked up the leaflet from the floor. “It’s nothing, I got handed it on my way here” Diane said. “Is everything okay, Diane? I know we haven’t ever gotten on, but if something has happened, you can tell me” Becky said. “I’ve gotta go” Diane said. “Where?” Becky asked. “Counselling, because...Well...yeah...I’ve been...y’know” Diane said and wiped a tear away. “I’ll be outside Diane, I’ll wait for you, I went through hell with Scott, I know what it’s like and no one should suffer in silence” Becky said as she hugged Diane.

“Rosanna, what d’you want for lunch?” Rob asked as he walked into the flat living room. “Not really hungry” Rosanna said. “How about we grab a pizza at Little Haven?” Rob asked. “I’m fine” Rosanna said. “Rosanna, I’m really trying to cheer you up, so let’s go to Little Haven and try and relax a bit, I’ll get my coat” Rob sighed.

Leo and Gem Hatter were walking outside The Oak Barn. Villagers were still staring at him. “I wish people would stop staring” Leo sighed. “Yeah” Gem said. “I kinda just wish I could get away from here for a while” Leo said. “Really?” Gem said. “Yeah, which is why I have applied for a visa for New York, your American visa should still be alright, let’s go tomorrow, I’m serious, let’s get a drink, pack a bag and our flight takes off at 7 am” Leo smirked. “Let’s go for it” Gem smirked.

Diane was sitting on a black leather couch in a modern office. “So, Diane, it sometimes helps to open up about your feelings, so please, take a moment and then open up about your feelings, don’t keep anything bottled up” The counsellor said. “I just feel..frozen...dead inside...I have no energy to do anything, I can’t stop thinking about it, my mind just keeps on looping the moment and I can’t escape...I feel so...so used, I know that sounds so generic but it’s how I feel, I’m just numb and I don’t want to make anyone nervous, mum can hardly look at me at the moment, I don’t want to bother her with me, she doesn’t deserve it” Diane said. “Does that feel better?” The counsellor said. “I guess” Diane said. “Is there anyone you can speak to?” The counsellor asked. “Not really, I don’t have friends, I’ve never gotten on with people, I guess it was because I had two brothers and one of them died, I loved Chad and I felt so angry at the world when he died, I was awful to mum and Chris but mum went and gave me another chance despite what I did and I know this would wreck mum and Chris” Diane said. “That’s the end of the session for now, just remember not to keep your feelings closed, break the silence Diane, your mum sounds wonderful and she’ll be there for you” The counsellor said.

Ashley Knight stood on the edge of a country road, Ashley was Warren Mears walking towards a cottage, Ashley Knight sprinted down a hill and towards the cottage. “Been a while since our last chat Lacey, normally I’ll get one of my boys to throw a sandwich in, I’ve been busy Lacey, Sky won’t talk to me at all, but soon she will” Warren smirked. The door burst open and Ashley Knight ran into the room. “Ash” Lacey gasped. “Get the hell outta here, kid, this doesn’t concern you” Warren yelled. “I’ve found you at last, I’ve seen you driving down the same road for weeks, I know Lacey attacked Amber, Amber’s gone, we have other things to concern ourselves with, we’re over you Lacey” Ashley said. Only when Ashley looked down did he see the ropes Lacey was tied too. “Ash, listen to me, Lacey’s unstable, we know that, I found her around the countryside attacking rabbits, I got her here and tied her up, the ambulance is on its way to escort her to an asylum” Warren said. “He’s locked me up here, help me get out of here” Lacey screamed. “She’s unwell, she doesn’t know what she’s saying” Warren said. “I see what you mean” Ashley nodded. “Well, it seems Lacey won’t be going anywhere for a while, please keep quiet about this, I don’t want anyone gossiping, Sky would go livid” Warren said.

Rob and Rosanna sat in Little Haven. “Here’s your salad, and here’s your extra large burger with super sized cola” Tiara smiled as she carried Rosanna and Rob’s food. “Cheers” Rob smiled. “I need the toilet” Rosanna said. Rosanna felt her forehead and was whiter than a ghost. “You don’t look too good Rosanna” Rob said. “Well I wonder why that is” Rosanna snorted. Rosanna quickly walked to the toilets. “Poor Rosanna” Tiara sighed. “She’s been through a lot” Rob said. “I’ll speak to her” Tiara said. “Cheers” Rob smiled. Rosanna walked up to the mirror and stared at her reflection, Rosanna suddenly toppled backwards and fell into the cubicle door. Tiara Waltz walked into the toilets and dialled for an ambulance.

Charlie Knight approached Jason Knight; Jason was sitting on the dock with his legs dangling into the water. “Be careful, it’s rather cold” Charlie said. “Do you even know what happened here?” Jason asked. “Yeah, that pregnant bird of yours was murdered here” Charlie said. “She wasn’t pregnant, don’t believe the papers, it’s all trash, you’ll just believe anything won’t you, cause if you really cared you would have been here as soon as you heard, answer me properly, what is it you want?” Jason asked. “It’s near the time of, Jennifer’s death, I want to support you all, I seriously mean that” Charlie said. “Stop acting like you care, you don’t, you never did, Jennifer was the most wonderful mother, when you left she was perfect, simply perfect and now you’re trying to replace her, I’m sorry but it’s too little, too late” Jason said. “I cared about you so much Jason but I couldn’t cope, but I love you, I love Ash and Amber and I loved Jennifer, Jennifer would have wanted us to make amends, she was lovey like that” Charlie said.

“Rosanna, Rosanna” Rob screamed as the paramedics carried Rosanna through the cafe, the paramedics carried Rosanna into an ambulance, Rob climbed into the ambulance and held Rosanna’s hand as the ambulance drove off.

Opening Titles

Ena and Frank Green were decorating The Oak Barns Christmas tree whilst Martha was draping tinsel over the bar and Dolly was trying to tie snowflakes and baubles to the roof. Mary Dickinson walked into the pub. “This looks nice, I finished the last of Little Haven’s decorations earlier” Mary smiled. “Well we have an Xmas disco later so we’re in a bit of a rush” Ena sighed. “I’ll spread the word in the cafe, might as well take the night off” Mary smiled.

Jason Knight and Darcy Dixon were drinking mulled wine in the living room of Darcy’s B&B. “It’ll be nice spending Christmas together” Darcy smiled. “It will be, I hope everything’s alright for Rob and Rosanna though, Rob said she’s doing alright but still hasn’t woken up” Jason said. Suddenly, Charlie walked into the living room. “What are you doing here Charlie?” Jason said. “Oh, do you know each other?” Darcy smiled. “That’s my dad” Jason said. “Nice of him to pop by” Darcy smiled. “Just heading out” Charlie said. “See ya, Jason, I’ve been thinking, I feel like it’s time we moved in together” Darcy said. “I just hope Honey, Ash and Ruby are okay with it because it’ll be quiet with only those three” Jason. “I was thinking about getting the loft converted and perhaps they can move up there, I don’t mind doing their cooking and cleaning” Darcy said. “Wow, sounds wonderful” Jason smiled.

A few hours later... The Oak Barn was packed. “Sleigh Ride” played as villagers danced and drank and enjoyed the Christmassy atmosphere. Taylor sat by the bar sulking whilst Savannah sat in the corner and Hilda and Frank sat chatting behind the bar. “Look, you know that I’ve been keeping this moment for a long time, but Becky and I haven’t been closer to each other in years and I want her to know the truth” Hilda said. “Keep your voice down, telling Becky the truth would wreck everything apart” Frank said. “We cannot keep this from her much longer, she will eventually need to know the truth” Hilda said.

Savannah sat drinking mulled wine whilst Honey walked over to her. “Savannah, I found this in the bathroom. It fell out of your bag, what on earth are you playing at?” Honey said as she handed Savannah a Christmas card. “I can’t believe you read it, I was just found a card from Jennifer from last year” Savannah said. “Well on the back it says the card was printed in November, killing Hannah is one thing but you really are messed up in the head, just cause you can’t have your own kids doesn’t mean you should try and snatch someone else’s” Honey said. “You know nothing about me Honey, don’t try and care about me or try to understand me, just stay away” Savannah. “Oh I know that you’re a messed up murderer and that’s all everyone needs to know” Honey said and snatched back the card.

Becky Davies was drinking by a table alongside Lavender Noble. “Becky, I need to speak to you” Taylor sighed. “Alright” Becky blushed and nearly toppled over whilst standing up. “I’ll go and get us another drink” Lavender smiled. “Becky, are you aware of whom your father is?” Taylor asked. “No, mum doesn’t know, I was kind of an accident, mum says I was more of a surprise gift” Becky smirked. “I really don’t want to get involved but I feel like I need to as I heard Hilda gossiping by the bar, she hardly kept her voice down, subtlety isn’t her strong point, but anyway, please go ask Hilda and don’t stop asking because she knows who it is and they’re closer to home than you think” Taylor said. “Um, okay then, thanks Taylor” Becky stammered and walked off.

“Christmas Wrapping” played until Honey stormed over to the stage and grabbed the microphone. “Good evening everyone, I do hope your having a lovely time, normal service will be resumed shortly but I’d just like to talk about someone in particular” Honey announced. “Sit down Honey, you’ve had too much to drink” Ashley smirked. “Savannah Tomlinson is insane, she’s mad and crazy and she’s a proper loony, look Jason, look at what she wrote” Honey smirked and threw the card to Jason. “Look at it, it was printed this year and is written in Savannah’s lovely loopy curly writing with her special gold pen but look at the bottom Jason” Honey said. “Love from mum” Jason read out. “You’ve done some mad things Savannah but you need to get your act together” Ruby said. “What the hell is this Savannah? My mother is dead and you are being disgusting, you are pathetic” Jason yelled. Charlie Knight walked into the party. “Jason please just listen to me, let me explain” Savannah begged. “I don’t wanna hear your lies” Jason said. “Listen to your mum and dad Jason” Charlie said. “Well, I’m glad we cleared that up, I’ll have your strongest possible drink please Ena” Honey said.
After a few awkward seconds the villagers continued chatting and “Never Do A Tango With An Eskimo” played.

Becky slowly walked up to Hilda. “Mum, well what just happened made me think” Becky said. “I’ve said this before, I don’t know who your father is” Hilda sighed. “Mum, I know you know and I want to know, I need to know who my dad is, I have survived hell this year and I would love to go into 2015 with my father” Becky said. Hilda Davies stared at Frank Green. Becky realised what Hilda was staring at and stepped back. “Seriously? No, seriously?” Becky gasped. “Please Becky, please don’t do anything you could regret, let’s try and avoid a Jason and Savannah scene” Hilda said. Ena Green walked over to the three. “Ena, your beloved husband is my father” Becky stammered. “I know dear, please don’t do anything drastic” Ena sighed. “You knew?” Becky gasped. “Frank and I don’t keep secrets” Ena said. “Well apart from the fact that killed his brother and had his body under the pub for thirty years I guess you kept things pretty open” Becky snorted. “Becky, I was in love with Ena, Hilda and I had a onetime thing so we had to keep quiet, but whatever you want to do I will support your decision” Frank said. “Well I’m going to New York with Leo and Gem, I cannot believe you three would keep something like this, I don’t know you anymore” Becky sighed and stormed off. Frank, Hilda and Ena all sighed in unison and then drank their drinks in unison.

Martha and Dolly were nattering in one corner, Chris and Rob were chatting and Diane was staring at the ground. The Nobles were chatting around on table whilst Mary sung a karaoke version of “Mistletoe & Wine”. Sunset, Crystal and Alice were dancing and Bruce was looking after Paw, Goofy and Betty. The three dogs were bouncing merrily in their basket and had been wrapped in tinsel.

Jason and Savannah stood outside The Oak Barn. “My mother is dead” Jason said. “I am right here Jason, I’m your mother” Savannah snivelled. “I’ve been grieving for a woman who I thought was my mum, you let me bury a woman who I thought was my mum, I don’t know who you are anymore” Jason said. “I am your mother, you need to accept that because I love you Jason, you are my baby boy and always will be, Ruby’s your half-sister and Ash is your cousin or something, I slept with Charlie when he was with Jennifer, I got pregnant and Jennifer chose to raise the baby as hers, I was 17 for god sake and Jennifer was much older and she was a perfect mother and I was so happy when I found I you got yourself expelled as it gave Jennifer the excuse to send you to live with us and I couldn’t have been happier” Savannah said. “I need to think Savannah, leave me alone, please” Jason said. “Anything for you, son” Savannah smiled weakly.

Opening Titles

Jason Knight sat in Darcy’s B&B. Darcy was next to him and the pair was watching TV. “I still can’t get my head around it, I just hate how this wrecks our family and we’ve spend so long trying to build it back up” Jason sighed. “At least Ruby and Ash have been alright” Darcy said. “Yeah, I have no idea how they’re finding things, anyway, I’m off to Becky’s Boutique before Becky goes to New York” Jason said and stood up. “See ya, I’ll have dinner ready by 6, love ya” Darcy smiled. “Love you too” Jason smiled and walked off.

Ashley Knight and Ruby Tomlinson sat outside Little Haven. “I Skyped Amber last night and she’s in shock too” Ashley said. “I just can’t believe that Jason’s my brother and not my cousin I just can’t believe Savannah and Jennifer lied to us for so many years, I also can’t believe how Jennifer didn’t seem to care about not telling Jason even though she was about to die” Ruby sighed. “I guess you just never understand some people especially Charlie, I can’t even stand looking at him” Ashley sighed. “I’ve gotta go, bye” Ruby smiled and walked off. Sky White came walking up to Ashley. “Hey Ash, I got your text, I got this note posted through my door and Lacey’s been taken hostage” Sky said. “Warren Mears has Lacey, I stumbled across them and I mean to tell you but then things got complicated” Ashley said. “Don’t worry about it” Sky smiled. “I’ve been thinking a lot and I think Warren wants you to run back to him and ask for the money and then I’m expecting him to give it to you in return for working for him” Ashley said, “Oh, god, that makes sense, like I knew Warren was evil but he’s gone too far this time” Sky said and wiped away a tear. “Well we’re not letting that happen, you can ask him for the money and let him give it to you, once Lacey is free you’ve gotta run to the police and stitch him up for good” Ashley said. “Right, I’ve gotta meeting with DCI Barker so I’ll see you around” Sky smiled.

Jason and Becky both sat on stools in Becky’s Boutique. “Feels crap, doesn’t it?” Becky asked. “Yeah, I guess it shows you can’t trust no one, like I trusted Jennifer but she seemed fine with letting me grieve for her whilst she knew I wasn’t hers and I would never have expected Ena and Frank so keep something like that” Jason said. “Ena and Frank seemed to be the loveliest people in this town but it seems that they just didn’t care, I can’t believe Hilda, Ena and Frank are acting so casual” Becky said. “Yeah, I’m not looking forward to seeing Savannah, even a short meeting was awkward enough” Jason said. “Well Amy, Josh and I are going to New York, Leo and Gem are already there and they say there’s a few small apartments across from theirs that we can rent, invite Ashley along if you want and you can see Amber” Becky smiled. “Got nothing to lose” Jason smirked.

Rob sat by Rosanna, Rosanna was resting in a hospital bed. “She might be up soon” Nurse Danielle Prescott said. “Thanks” Rob said. Rosanna’s eyes twitched and Rosanna sighed. “Rosanna, it’s me Rob, please relax, doctors say you don’t need any stress or pressure” Rob said. “What happened?” Rosanna asked. “I don’t know, you collapsed a week or so ago” Rob said. Rosanna remained quiet. “Look Rosanna, doctors found out that you hadn’t eaten any sugar and had very low protein levels” Rob said. “Well I haven’t had time to eat much since, the, well yeah” Rosanna said quietly. “Keep calm, but answer me, why haven’t you been eating much” Rob asked softly. “Because I want to be skinny, I can’t eat because my weight killed our baby, it did Rob, I know it did, I’m too fat to look after a baby” Rosanna squealed stared at the ceiling, Rosanna looked frozen cold and emotionless. “Rosanna, you are beautiful, I don’t care about your weight, you need to realise that miscarriages happen and none of it is your fault” Rob said. “I’m sorry Rob, I really am” Rosanna sobbed. “I am a bit irked that you hid this from me Rosanna, I don’t want secrets between us, I mean, I love you Rosanna” Rob said. “I love you too Rob” Rosanna said and turned to look at Rob and smiled.

Ena stood in The Oak Barn. “This has been some Christmas build up” Ena smiled. “Hopefully no one holds the pub hostage” Hilda smirked. “I’ve finished the casting for the nativity play, Lavender Noble is Mary, Bruce is Joseph, Aaron, Chris, Gavin and Frank are shepherds, Darcy is the Angel Gabriel, DCI Justin Barker, Constable Carson Scott and Doctor Arthur Barnes are the Three Kings” Ena said. “What am I?” Tiara asked as she walked in. “You’re the Innkeeper” Ena said. “But I wanted to be Mary” Tiara said. “Well Lavender’s audition was just a bit better” Ena said. “Well I will show you whose better on the night, when are rehearsals?” Tiara asked. “Well there’s one tomorrow at 3, we’ve only got a few days to sort everything out” Ena said. “Can’t wait” Tiara smiled.

Martha and Dolly Longstaff were sitting in their kitchen by the table. “I saw Declan Reid earlier, he seems to be doing well, considering, well what happened” Dolly said. “Dolly, ever since all of the Jason and Becky stuff it made me think about, y’know” Martha said. “I never stop thinking about it, I still can’t decide whether it was the right thing to do, I can’t go to bed without thinking about what I did, I lay in bed and stare at the ceiling wondering how he’s doing” Dolly said. “I think it’s time Dolly, Chris and Diane need to know the truth, and he needs to know the truth about his mother” Martha said. “I’ll give them a call” Dolly said.

Becky, Amy, Josh, Jason and Ashley all sat around a table in a first class aeroplane. “Right guys, let’s just forget all of this family nonsense and just chill and enjoy this family-free Christmas!” Josh smiled. “Right guys, I wanna make a toast” Becky smiled and handed round glasses of champagne. “To Rosanna, we hope you recover from your ordeal and a toast to Rob who is being a wonderful boyfriend and I hope the pair has a very merry Christmas together” Becky smiled. “Cheers” the group said in unison. “Can’t wait to see Amber” Ashley smiled. “Ruby said she might even join us, Honey might even fly over with Lavender and Aaron after the Noble’s have their Christmas” Jason said. “What did Darcy say?” Josh asked. “She’s cool with it, she says she might fly over after a few things are sorted” Jason said. “Tiara and Christina are planning to reunite in New York to see their family” Amy said. “This is going to be a great Christmas” Josh said.

Dolly Longstaff had the phone on speaker and was sitting down. “Hello, who is this?” the voice asked. “It’s you, it’s my baby boy” Dolly said and wiped away a tear. “Hold on a sec, mum, is this you?” The voice of Tom Potter said.

Opening Titles

Martha, Dolly, Chris, Diane and Tyler sat in their living rom.”Why are we all here?” Diane asked. “Please, just wait” Martha snapped. “”Relax mum, it’s Christmas, we haven’t even opened the presents yet” Chris said. The doorbell rang and Tyler went to answer it. “Well this is glum” Diane muttered. “Just wait” Martha said. Tom Potter walked into the living room. “This guy says he knows you” Tyler said. “Tom” Dolly gulped. “Tom, welcome back” Chris said. Tom stared at Dolly and ignored Chris. “What’s going on?” Tyler asked. Dolly ran up to Tom and hugged him. “Okay what is going on?” Chris asked. “Guys, meet your cousin” Martha sighed.
Ena and Frank stood in The Oak Barn; there was a small stage out with a manger. “This should be a fun nativity” Ena smiled. “Just given Betty her present, oh and I tried to contact Becky but I just got voicemail” Frank sighed. “She’ll be back soon, I just hope she’s alright” Ena said. “Anyway, it’s Christmas so let’s just relax, so the play ends at 3 which means we can play the Queen’s speech as we have sherry and mince pies and then have a little feast with our friends” Frank said. “Great” Ena smiled.

Sky White stood outside The Oak Barn and was on the phone to Ashley Knight.”I got the money off Warren but I’ve got to do this nativity play so Warren said he’d get Lacey and take her back home and then I’ll check Lacey is safe and make an excuse and then run to the station” Sky said.

“I’m confused” Chris said. “Mum” Tom said. “Wait, so you’re Tom’s mother” Diane said and Dolly nodded. “I’ve been looking for you for ages, months” Tom said. “Can you forgive me Tom, for hiding away, I just couldn’t cope with it” Dolly said. “You’re my mum, of course I forgive you” Tom said. “This is just cringey now” Chris said. “I was young when I had Tom, Martha and I both lived her and Martha said to put him in the local care home and leave, Martha kept on contacting me about you, I never forgot about you Tom, I heard you were passed by foster home to foster home and spent your few last years in care but I’m so proud of you Tom, you’ve done something with your life” Dolly beamed. “We’ve gotta go to the pub for the nativity” Diane said. “See you there, come on Tyler” Chris said.

The camera faded to black and faded to a shot of the Statue of Liberty. Becky and Amy were alone at the top of the Statue of Liberty. “Lovely view of New York” Amy smiled. “So nice” Becky said. “So Lachlan said that he’s organised an American dinner at his place, you wanna go?” Amy asked. “Sure, American’s are lovely aren’t they?” Becky said. “I think it’s the accent they love” Amy smirked. “What are the chances of bumping into you” A voice said. Becky and Amy turned round and Scott Johnson was sneering at the pair.

The Oak Barn nativity play was about to begin. Sky White stood in front of a curtain. “Welcome to The Oak Barn nativity play put on by villagers of Oakside Square, please stay behind afterwards for Sherry and a free buffet” Sky smiled. The audience applauded and Alice McKenzie and Penelope Clark arrived late and quietly sat down at the back.

“The story started over 2000 years ago, a young girl called Mary was sitting in her room in a small town called Nazareth” Sky said. The curtain opened and Lavender Noble sat in a chair. “An angel called Gabriel descended onto the house and gave Mary a message. “Mary, you have been chosen to have a very special baby, you will call him Jesus” Darcy Dixon said. “Cool, cheers” Lavender said. “Joseph” Lavender shouted. “Yes Mary” Bruce Pooch asked as he ran on stage. “I’m pregnant and we’re gonna call the baby Jesus” Lavender said. “But we haven’t had sex” Bruce said. “Who wrote this? I mean there are kids in the audience” Sky said. “It’s a gift from Jesus” Lavender Noble. “Oh dear” Bruce said. “However, a census was called and everyone had to go to their home town to register” Sky said. The curtain closed.

“How did you survive?” Amy gasped. “Don’t come near us” Becky shuddered. “I’m pretty insulted to be honest, you two seemed to get over killing me pretty easily” Scott sneered. “You weren’t worth mourning over” Amy sneered. “How did you survive?” Becky asked. “Pretty easily to be honest, you didn’t exactly do a thorough job of checking I was dead and you didn’t even check around the back to see if I left” Scott said. “Just stay away from us” Amy said. “Yeah” Becky said. “Or what?” Scott said. Becky handed Amy a shopping bag and kicked Scott between his legs. “Run” Becky yelled whilst Scott howled in pain. “That was slick” Amy smirked as the pair ran down the staircase.

A few scenes later Lavender was approaching an Inn alongside Bruce with a living Donkey. “He’s just done a crap on the stage” Bruce said. “Watch your language” Ena snapped from behind the curtain.. Bruce knocked on the Inn door. “Hello” Tiara said. “Is there any room in your Inn?” Lavender asked. “No” Tiara said. “Are you sure?” Mary asked. “Are you accusing me of lying?” Tiara sneered. “It’s just me and my partner have come a long way, is there not even a stable we could rest in?” Bruce asked. “No, now go away and leave me alone” Tiara yelled. “Stick to the script Tiara” Ena yelled. “Well that’s what you get for not casting me as Mary, so sod this, I’m off to New York, Cousin Cady’s got everything sorted” Tiara smirked and strutted down the audience. “For god sake, do something Chris” Ena said. Chris walked onto the stage and awkwardly stood still. “So, this is going well, isn’t it?” Chris said. “How about some jokes? I know, why doesn’t Santa have any kids?” Chris asked. “Get out” Penelope yelled. “Because he only comes once a year” Chris said. “Keep it clean” Ena said. “Jesus Christ, I’m going” Sky sighed.

Becky and Amy ran down a street in New York. They went into an American diner. Leo, Gem, Jason and Josh were gathered around a table with a few friends. “Hey, where’s Ash?” Becky asked. “Out with some girl” Josh smirked. “You look like you’ve been running” Gem said. “Yeah, we um ran down the street, it was nice and refreshing” Becky said. “Hey” Amy smiled as she shook hands with some friends the group had met a few days ago. “So, what’s happening tonight?” A woman called Rachel asked. “We’re going to Lachlan’s for dinner” Another friend called April said. “Sounds like fun” A guy called Ethan said. “We should go to Central Park tomorrow and perhaps Coney Island the day after” A woman called Faye said. “I actually would like to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art” Becky said. “Oh it’s great there, perhaps we could go together” Lachlan said. “Sure” Becky smiled.

“Where’s Lacey?” Sky asked as she stepped inside her old battered house. “She’s out working and helping to pay the money you owe me” Warren said. “No, not prostitution, anything but that, please Warren, tell me you haven’t” Sky gasped. “She’s out, in fact, her first guest is about to arrive, I must go and greet him” Warren said. “You disgust me, Lacey won’t do this” Sky said. “Oh, she will” Warren said and held out a gun.
Ena Green had stepped in as narrator. “Over by some fields, some Shepherds were sitting with their sheep. The curtain unravelled and Chris, Aaron, Frank, Gavin and Charlie sat on the grass with crooks. Diane Longstaff was dressed up in a fluffy white costume as a sheep. “I spy, something beginning with e” Aaron said. “Ewe” Gavin said. “No, e” Aaron said. “No, ewe, as in the sheep” Gavin said. “Ah, incorrect” Aaron said. “Baa” Diane said. There was an awkward silence for a few seconds. “Chris, it’s your line” Ena said. Chris still didn’t speak. “Chris, just say your dammed line” Martha said. “I am not listening to a thing you say” Chris said. “Why not?” Martha said. “Well because you hid the fact that Tom Potter was my cousin for years and years” Chris said. The audience turned towards Tom Potter who sat next to Tyler in the audience. After a few more awkward silences, Adam Finch walked in. “Sorry for being late, not a problem is it?” Adam said. “Not at all” Ena Green smiled as her and Martha emerged from behind the curtain. “Yes, I am not having him here” Diane said. “Why not darling?” Martha asked. “Is he our cousin as well?” Chris snorted. “Oh just get a grip Chris, just get over the fact that Dolly’s my mum, Dolly, Martha and I are all fine, why can’t you be?” Tom said. “Get him out of here” Diane said. “Why?” Hilda asked. “Because...” Diane stuttered. “Because what?” Dolly asked. “Because he raped me” Diane blurted and wiped her tears with her sleeve. “She’s lying, I haven’t laid a finger on her” Adam said. “She’s not lying” Constable Carson Scott said as he emerged from behind the curtain. “Get the hell out of here” Martha said and clenched her fist. Chris ran up to Adam with his crook. “If you come near Diane or our family I will ram this crook down your throat and then throttle you’re dead” Chris said. Diane Longstaff ran off and Martha followed after her. “Diane, come back” Martha yelled. “Just get out of here, you pathetic, disgusting little rapist” Chris boomed as he grabbed Adam by his collar and dragged him out of the pub. Chris smacked Adam in the face and Adam kicked Chris’s shin.

Lacey White sat on a bed. Warren Mears unlocked the door and entered the room with another man. “Lacey, your first visitor is here” Warren said. The man began undressing. “Lacey, do what we talked about” Warren said and held out the gun. Lacey lunged at Warren and snatched the gun, she pointed the gun towards her own head. “Lacey, don’t do anything irrational, just put the gun down and everything will be okay” Warren said. Lacey shuddered for a few seconds and a second later she pulled the trigger.
“Diane, come back” Martha yelled as Diane ran into the road. “Just leave me alone, I want to be on my own” Diane screamed as tears streamed down her cheeks. “Why, why didn’t you say anything” Martha yelled. “Because I couldn’t, I couldn’t admit to myself what happened, I didn’t want you to worry as I wasn’t your problem” Diane said. “I’m your mother Diane, you could have spoken to me” Martha said. “I’m sorry” Diane sobbed. “I guess you’ve been to the police” Martha said and Diane nodded. “Let’s just go home, get a bit of rest and I’ll bring you a cuppa, one sugar, just how you like it” Martha smiled.

“Go home, don’t mention a thing, I’ll sort everything out, sorry about this” Warren Mears sighed. Warren Mears stared at Lacey’s lifeless body and then lit up a cigarette.
Gem and Becky sat on deckchairs on a beach. “I think Lachlan likes you” Gem said. “I’m not really interested to be honest, well maybe a bit” Becky said. “He’s better looking that Taylor” Gem said. “It’s not weird to fancy two people is it?” Becky said. “I really don’t know to be honest” Gem smirked. “Aaron, Lavender, Crystal, Sunset, Darcy and possibly Rob and Rosanna might join us soon” Becky said. “This is going to be a wicked holiday” Gem smiled.

“LACEY, LACEY” Sky White screamed as she got out of a car. Sky walked up to the house were Lacey was kept hostage and noticed the door was open. Lacey barged into the house and saw Lacey’s lifeless body with a gun next to her. Sky dropped her bag and her mouth opened wide. “No” Sky jittered. Sky heard a sound and saw Warren Mears clutching a handful of cloth and cleaning supplies. “I found out your secret little cottage, You...YOU KILLED HER, YOU LED HER TO HER DEATH, YOU’RE SICK, YOU’RE PATHETIC, YOU’VE RUINED OUR LIFE, YOU’RE NOTHING BUT A DISGUSTING, SICKENING OLD CREEPY AND PERVERTED MAN, I CAN’T BELIEVE I EVER TRUSTED YOU, I CAN’T BELIEVE I LET YOU SELL ME OUT THE WAY YOU DID, YOU’VE WRECKED MY LIFE WARREN MEARS BUT YOU WON’T GET AWAY WITH KILLING MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL” Sky yelled as she charged at Warren and flung her fists at him. Sky clawed at Warren’s shins and Warren merely stayed still as Sky continued bawling and howling. Sky shoved Warren with all of her remaining strength and grabbed the gun and ran. Sky picked up her phone and leaned against the door to keep it shut. “Hello, police please” Sky shuddered.

Scott Johnson stood by the edge of a deserted lake. A figure stood behind him, a knife plunged through his chest and Scott toppled into the lake.

The remaining villagers stood in The Oak Barn and were enjoying the buffet. “Lovely spread of food” Declan Reid smirked. Rob and Rosanna walked into the pub. “Welcome back” Ena smiled. “You’ve certainly missed a lot” Hilda smirked. “Can I get you anything?” Frank asked. “I’ll go to the buffet, looks like a cracking bunch of food” Rosanna smirked and Rob kissed Rosanna.

Amy and Becky walked from opposite ends of a street and met up outside an apartment. “Where have you been?” Amy asked. “Had to sort something washing out at the flat, what about you?” Becky said. “I had to sort out some internet issues” Amy said. “I wonder where Amy and Becky have got to” Jason said. Leo, Gem, Josh, Jason, Ashley, Lachlan, Ethan, Faye, Rachel and April were all gathered round a table on the top of an apartment. Amy and Becky emerged from a lift and walked into the apartment. “Sorry we’re late” Amy said. “We’ve been here a while, let’s tuck in, we haven’t started without you” April smiled.

Sky White was sipping red wine at the bar in The Oak Barn. “Sky, I really don’t think drinking is a good idea” Hilda Davies sighed as she walked in. “I need it, only medicine that actually works” Sky said as she took another large gulp. “Drinking won’t help anything” Hilda said. “Well I feel much better, anyway, I’m meeting someone so can you please leave” Sky said. “Alright, Ena, keep a watch on her” Hilda sighed and smiled at Ena.

Sunset, Jason and Gem sat on a bench in Times Square. “Oh, the Oakside Echo reports that Lacey White has died, it was suicide apparently” Gem sighed. “Oh god, poor Sky” Sunset. “Lacey White was unstable, well living with Warren Mears would make anyone go insane. Lacey White attacked Amber earlier in the year” Jason sighed. “I’m gonna text Mary, see if there’s anything the press aren’t reporting” Gem said. “Is Mary spending Christmas on her own?” Sunset asked. “I think she spent it with Ena, Frank, Hilda and that lot, Mary was kind enough to lay a wreath on Jennifer’s grave earlier, tomorrow Honey, Ruby, Ashley, Amber and I are gonna go to Conley Fair for a family day out and then go find a chapel” Jason said.

Beverly Knight approached Sky White in the pub. “Sky, I’m so sorry for what you’re going through” Beverly said. Sky remained silent. “I’m surprised you rang, what did you want?” Beverly asked. “You were reporting about the Holly Buckle case where that girl committed suicide, so what happened afterwards? Like what did the police do? How did the mother cope?” Sky asked. “The police are useless, I heard that you gave a load of evidence” Beverly said. “Yep, my solicitor says that my testimony will be enough to get Warren sent down” Sky said. “I can arrange a meeting with Miss Buckle if you wish” Beverly said. “That would be great, however, I want to speak out about this, I want to give the Oakside Echo an exclusive, an insight into the horror of losing a child, people need to know about the pain” Sky blubbered. “Are you sure?” Beverly asked and Sky nodded as she dabbed her eyes.

Chris Longstaff was sitting in Total Fitness with Diane Longstaff. “This place is empty” Diane noted. “Very well spotted, wait until the New Year when people realise how much they ate over the past week” Chris said. The pair sat in silence for a few seconds until Tom Potter walked in. “Don’t even think about getting your job back” Chris said loudly. “I thought this was a family business” Tom said. “Oh don’t try and be smart” Chris sneered. “Calm down Chris, you need to accept what’s happened” Diane said. “I’m so sorry about what happened Diane” Tom said. “Don’ try and comfort her, she doesn’t care for anything you have to say, so just leave” Chris yelled. “You are not helping Chris, just calm down, shouting won’t help anything, shouting won’t help the fact that Tom is our cousin and it certainly won’t help the fact that I was raped” Diane said. “Sorry” Chris muttered. “Dolly, Martha and I will all support you Diane” Tom said. “Cheers Tom, Chris, please just accept that Tom is our cousin” Diane said. “Chad, does he not remind you of Chad?” Chris sulked. “A bit, but he’s not replacing Chad, anyway, I’ve got a meeting up with Sky so I’ll leave you two along” Diane said.

Savannah Tomlinson was in Oakside Library and was reading Lynda Bellingham’s memoirs when Charlie Knight walked up to her. “Never expected to see you in a library” Savannah smirked. “Never expected you to be here either” Charlie said. “It’s a place where I can relax and shut myself away from the world, did that sound soppy?” Savannah smirked. “Just a bit” Charlie smiled. “Has Jason contacted you at all?” Savannah said. “Nope, although Ashley said that him, Jason, Ruby and Honey have gone to New York to see Amber” Charlie said. “Is half our village in New York at the moment?” Savannah smirked. “I think so, the village is dead quiet at the moment” Charlie said. “It’s rather unnerving” Savannah said. “I just hope they all come back soon and none of them do anything stupid” Charlie said. “I’m just gonna enjoy the peace and quiet, doubt it’ll last” Savannah said. “This has been a crazy Christmas” Charlie sighed.

Darcy, Aaron, Lavender and Leo were eating in a rooftop cafe. “American food is pretty nice” Darcy said. “I thought it would all be pretzels, pizza and puddings” Leo smirked. “Shame the waitress won’t give me the recipe for this chowder” Darcy said. “Leave it to me, that waitress won’t be able to resist my hot British charm” Aaron smirked. “Lovely view from up here, isn’t it Lavender?” Leo said. “Lavender” Darcy said. “Pardon?” Lavender said as she looked up from her phone. “What are you doing?” Darcy asked. “Someone filmed the nativity play, Tess sent me a Youtube link, it’s got thousands of hits” Lavender said. “Tess told us that Diane was raped by that Adam Finch guy” Aaron sighed. “I’ll give Diane a call later, see how she’s doing, we’ve never really gotten on but she’ll need a ton of support” Darcy said.

Sky White was sitting in a sidewalk cafe outside Oakside Prison and was sitting with a muscular man and Diane Longstaff walked up to the pair. “Hello, I’m Diane Longstaff” Diane smiled as she shook hands with the man. “I’m Vinnie Grayson but all the lads in the nick called me Graze, can’t stand the nickname to be honest” Vinnie said. “Vinnie worked for Warren but he stopped after things got messy so Warren stitched him up, Vinnie has just been released because of my statement and he witnessed Warren and that Adam guy in prison” Sky explained. “A lot of people had heard of you Diane, people weren’t impressed when word got around that you were sexually assaulted, things got tense when Adam arrived, Adam’s getting beaten black and blue” Vinnie said. “Okay, what about Warren?” Diane said. “As well as rapists, prisoners hate murderers of beautiful blondes like Lacey, or at least someone who drove them to their deaths, so Warren isn’t coping well either, he’s responsible for quite a few people in that prison and he’s lost everything, you’re something of a hero in there Sky” Vinnie said. “I’m supposed to see Warren in a few minutes, so thank you very much for telling us this Vinnie, feel free to pop over for a cuppa sometime” Sky said. “I hope the pair of you recover from your tragedies, neither of you two deserves any of this” Vinnie smiled and walked off.


Tom Potter walked out of Total Fitness and Alice McKenzie walked in shortly afterwards. ”Did I just see Tom Potter exit?” Alice asked. “Yes, we’ve made up and welcomed him into the family; does that make Tom, Tyler’s second uncle or something?” Chris smirked. “Tyler is certainly not staying with you much longer, I mean, your friend is your Auntie’s son and your own sister was raped by some guy who worked in the local bowling alley” Alice said. “Stuff like this doesn’t happen often” Chris said. “I highly doubt it” Alice said. “Well if you really want a legal battle then I’m ready” Chris said. “Bring it on” Alice said.

Sky White strutted into the prison waiting room and sat down. Warren Mears sat down in the chair in front of her. “Prison guard was lovely to let me in considering the circumstances” Sky sneered and Warren grunted. “Have you got nothing to say?” Sky sneered as she slammed her hand against the table. “I’ve heard that you haven’t been treated to well” Sky said. “I’ve got to bury my daughter on New Year’s Day, I’ve got to go into 2015 without her” Sky said and rubbed away a tear. “How does it feel Warren? Knowing that you drove an innocent beautiful girl to her death? I guess you’ve been responsible for many deaths, but I guess you don’t feel a thing cause you’re emotionless, you’re dead inside, don’t ever think about contacting me, I hope you rot in prison and then I hope you rot in hell” Sky sneered and sipped her water. Warren let out a slight groan whilst Sky snorted at him. Warren stood up and clenched his stomach and then clenched his heart, Warren continued to wheeze in pain and after a few seconds he timbered onto the table. A prison guard rushed over to him and felt the pulse in his neck. “I can’t feel anything, I think he’s had a heart attack and I’m pretty sure he’s dead” The prison guard said.

DSQ might air a bit later in the week, I have six more episodes planned which will last until the 20th. I feel like things have come to a natural end and I wish to focus on other projects, DSQ has been a wonderful creation for me and I've loved writing it.

Opening Titles

Sky White was sitting on a bench facing the lake. Ena Green walked up to her. “Sky, we’re all going to be there, we’re all here to support you” Ena said softly. “Thanks, I don’t know if I can go through with it, It doesn’t feel right, cause once I’ve buried her, well then she’s gone” Sky sulked. “Have you heard anymore news about Warren?” Ena asked. “Not much” Sky said. “I think we get moving guests will start turning up soon” Ena sighed.

Tess Noble and Gavin Noble sat round a table in The Oak Barn. “I’ve finished writing my resolutions” Gavin said. “How wonderful” Tess said flatly. “What have you written? I’m going to try and exercise more” Frank smiled as he collected their drinks. “Stop gambling, well I haven’t gambled since the bailiffs but I wanna make it official, not even a quid on the footie results, not even a raffle, nothing” Gavin smiled. Tess looked up from her phone. “Really?” Tess asked. “I was stupid, I was so obsessed, once I started I couldn’t stop, well I was able to stop with your help” Gavin smiled. “Happy New Year, Gavin, another round please Frank” Tess smiled and then leaned forwards to kiss Gavin.

Rob Price and Rosanna sat in an empty Little Haven. “Have you spoken to all the New York lot recently?” Rosanna asked. “Earlier, there gonna be home in a few days, Jason said him and Darcy are going to take a cable car ride across some lake but they seem to be a bit bored now, but they’ve made some new friends” Rob smiled. “Would have been nice to go” Rosanna said. “We can still go, in fact, I’ve gotta go but be at The Oak Barn later, like around 7” Rob said and quickly rushed off. Rosanna walked off to the fridge and grabbed herself a slice of pizza from the counter, Rosanna stared at it for a few seconds but then quickly ate the slice.

Diane Longstaff was sitting on a bench outside the chapel where Lacey’s funeral was being held. Tom, Chris, Bruce and Frank were carrying the coffin and Sky was trailing behind with her soaking eyes red and carrying an almost packet of tissues. The coffin had ‘Lacey’ written with yellow flowers on top as it was carried into the chapel. Martha Longstaff walked up to Diane. “How are you doing Diane?” Martha said. “Alright, why are you asking me? Sky’s the one that needs support” Diane said. “I’m talking about the rape” Martha said. “Better, in fact I’ve decided to visit Adam in prison” Diane said. “Are you sure about that?” Martha said. “Counsellor says I need to confront my demons and this is the chance I get to overpower Adam” Diane said. “I don’t know if it’s the best idea but I’ll respect your descion” Martha smiled.

Guests sat in the chapel during a moment of silence to remember Lacey. “Now, Sky White is going to do the eulogy” the celebrant said. Sky walked up the lectern as ‘Wish You Were Here’ by Avril Lavigne played. “Lacey was my little angel, she might not have been perfect at times, and there’s point hiding that she was mentally ill, I would have done anything for my girl, she’ll always be my little girl and I will always be her mum and nothing can ever change that. I would have done anything for her, I wish I could be in that coffin; I wish we could swap if it meant Lacey was still here and still alive and well. Lacey was all I had, and I was all Lacey had, Lacey wasn’t well in her final year and I just wish I could have done something, maybe if I had, well none of us would be here, Lacey was snatched to soon but she will always be in my heart.” Sky said and broke out into a fresh round of tears.

Darcy Dixon and Jason Knight were strolling down Times Square. “Crikey, this is far too bright for my liking” Darcy smiled. “So many adverts” Jason smirked. “This is a lovely city though” Darcy said. “Shall we hitch a cab or something?” Jason said. “I’ve still got lots of shopping to do, come on” Darcy said. “The cable car is booked, it’s rather empty at that time of day but I still booked the luxury car, should be great” Jason said. “Can’t wait” Darcy smiled.

Ena, Frank, Tess, Gavin and Mary were sitting in The Oak Barn. The Oak Barn was lavishly decorated with flowers. “How are things here?” Hilda Davies asked as she walked in. “Rather gloomy, we quickly left at the end of the funeral to get the drinks ready, how are you?” Ena asked. “Had to look after the boutique as Becky’s in New York, it’s a shame I couldn’t be there to support Sky” Hilda said. “Well you’re here supporting her now, Sky was wonderful to make it through the eulogy” Frank said. “Hello Rob, where’s Rosanna?” Mary asked. “At the cafe or at home, I’ve some stuff to do” Rob smiled.

Alice McKenzie was sitting in the kitchen with a cup of tea and was reading the Oakside Echo. “Forgot the bring out donation, oh and you might have to keep an eye on Tyler for the next few days as mum’s told Sky we’d all be willing to do her grocery shopping, lawn mowing and clean her house, although I dunno where she’ll stay as she can’t live on that boat or go back to that grotty squat” Chris said. “Fine, I was going to look after Tyler anyway as I am his caring mother” Alice sneered. “An innocent mother has just lost her child and I am just doing something to help, if you had a shred of decency then you’d do something, even make a small donation, send some flowers or even attend the funeral or reception” Chris said. “When are you going to put Tyler first, Chris? You always seem to be focusing on something else, when are you going to realise that Tyler is your number one priority as a father” Alice yelled. “Oh shut up mum, can you both calm down, it’s just embarrassing watching you two argue, can you please lay off dad for a few minutes, you act like everything he has done is worthless” Tyler said as he stormed down the stairs and into the kitchen. “Sorry Tyler, daddy and I were just having a little argument” Alice said. “Stop being so patronizing mum, I’m not your naive little kid anymore, I’m glad I moved here as it’s made me realise that life isn’t as perfect as you think and if you can’t stop pecking at dad then I’d rather stay here than move back home with you” Tyler said and quickly stormed off. Alice glared at Chris for a few seconds and Chris swiftly left.

Ena, Martha, Hilda, Frank, Mary, Diane, Beverly, Dolly, Bruce, Tom, Tess, Gavin and Sky were in all The Oak Barn. “You’ve done a lovely job decorating this place, Ena” Sky smiled. “Oh it was nothing” Ena beamed. Penelope Clark strutted into the pub with a notebook. “Oh who let you in?” Tess sneered. “Just popping by for a drink and possibly a quick chat” Penelope said. “I don’t see that ever happening” Sky sneered. “Just get out Penelope” Gavin demanded. “Does your life feel worthless, Sky, do you feel like you’re stuck in a void without your little psycho princess?” Penelope asked. Tess grabbed Sky her shoulders and demonstrated some hidden strength as she bundled Penelope out of the pub. Tess snatched her notepad and threw it into the lake. “Listen her Penelope, you can take your nasty little snout and keep it out of people’s business for once. In fact, you can take your fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake face and your pink glittery pen and shove it right up your...your..void” Tess yelled. Tess strutted off but Penelope grabbed Tess’ hair. Tess spun round and smacked Penelope; Penelope wobbled around for a few seconds and then plunged into the lake. Tess smirked and walked into the pub.

Rosanna walked into the pub. “What did you want Rob? Where have you been all day?” Rosanna asked. A middle-aged woman and a young adult walked towards Rosanna. “Oh my god, mum, Danny, what are you doing here? Everyone, this is my mum Bridget and my older brother Danny” Rosanna gasped. “Rob called us, and everyone here says good things about him, so you have my blessing” Bridget Willis said. “I’m confused” Rosanna said. Rob walked up to Rosanna and went down on one knee. “Rosanna, will you do the honour of being my wife?” Rob asked. Rosanna squealed and nodded and hugged Rob. “Oh and, you said you wanted to travel, well, I’ve got us a yacht, we can travel the world together, we depart on the 20th so we can travel around Europe for a few weeks and then we can come back for our wedding and then explore the world as husband and wife” Rob beamed. “I love you Rob” Rosanna beamed. “I love you too Rosanna” Rob smiled and kissed Rosanna.

‘Kids in America’ played as Amy, Becky, Josh, Leo, Gem, Aaron, Lavender, Sunset and Crystal gathered outside a cable car station. Tiara and Christina stood outside a large manor house and Ashley, Ruby and Honey were looking up at the towers in Rockefeller center.

Jason Knight and Darcy Dixon walked up to the station alongside their American friends, Rachel, April and Lachlan. “We thought we’d all join you” Becky smirked. “Yeah, see what the fuss was all about” Aaron grinned. “Well this was going to be a romantic trip for Jason and I but I guess you can have the luxury car, but you’re gonna owe me” Darcy smiled. “Cheers” Josh smirked. “We’ve gotta go, but we’ll see you later for your last night party, it’s gonna be epic” Lachlan smiled. “Can’t wait” Lavender smiled.

Eve Foster had recently hitched a plane over to the States and was standing in the cable car control room. A guy called Ethan sat on a computer chair watching a large number of computer screens. “Everything ready to go?” Eve asked. “I think so, we’re both gonna be in a deep mess if everything goes according to plan” Ethan said. “I know, but I’m paying you enough to help me with this, and besides, we can hitch a private plane or something and go to England, I know some guys who can help you” Eve said. “Would be nice if you could tell me a bit more” Ethan said. “The less you know the better, all you need to know is that this is my final revenge” Eve grinned dramatically. “Okay then” Ethan grinned uncertainly. “I’m gonna check some final things, don’t less anyone onto a car until I’m out the way” Eve said.

Tiara and Christina walked up to a large gate. A tall man walked up to the pair and bowed in front of them. “Hello, we’re here to see Mrs Cordelia Waltz and Mr Benedict Waltz” Tiara said awkwardly. “I am Malcolm their butler, Mrs Waltz informed me you would be visiting, please allow me to accompany you to the manor in our marvelous horse and carriage” Malcolm said in an odd posh American accent. “I’d love to, a glass of champagne and a cheese plate would make the journey ever so satisfying” Christina said as she smiled but tried to avoid smirking. “That can be arranged, Mrs Waltz is a very kind woman, I shall have a message sent up to the manor, Mrs Waltz is a very busy woman but she will be with you shortly” Malcolm said.

Honey, Ruby and Ashley rode up in an elevator to the highest floor. They stepped out into a busy corridor; Amber Knight was sitting in the corner which had a window which showed a beautiful view of the city. “Amber” Ashley beamed as he hugged Amber. “Hey” Amber smiled. “Looks amazing here” Ruby said. “It’s great” Amber smiled. “So how’s work?” Honey asked. “Fun, the newspaper’s great, doesn’t take itself too seriously, everyone here is lovely” Amber smiled. “Hey Amber, mango and peach smoothie?” A colleague asked. “Cheers, just checking, is it Olly’s party at the bar across the street tomorrow?” Amber asked. “Yeah, and don’t forget its Lizzie’s baby shower the day after, nice to meet you, I’m Ella” Ella said. “This is my brother, my cousin and my cousin’s ex fiancée’s sister” Amber said. “Wow, go and spend the afternoon with them, I can cover for you” Ella smiled. “Ah great, thanks a lot” Amber smiled and grabbed her bag and coat and left the office with Ash, Honey and Ruby.

Amy, Becky, Josh, Leo, Gem, Aaron, Lavender, Sunset and Crystal were all inside the station. “Hello” Aaron asked loudly. After a few seconds Aaron heard Ethan’s voice. “Hello” Ethan said as he stood behind a hatch in the office. “We have a luxury car booked, in the name of Darcy Dixon” Aaron said. “Get on board, there should be a variety of drinks and snacks to last your journey, sorry about the wait, we’re rather short staffed at this time of the day” Ethan said. The nine of them climbed into the car and popped open a bottle of sparkling champagne.

Eve walked back into the office. “They’re on board, no way out, well except down, 350 feet didn’t we say? That’s about nine minutes in” Ethan said. “Great” Eve smirked but then she saw the CCTV and observed Darcy and Jason standing around and waiting for the next car. Eve gasped as she saw the students on the luxury car. Darcy and Jason walked up to the hatch. Eve ducked down and hoped Jason and Darcy couldn’t see her. “Hello, we have our tickets here” Darcy smiled. “On board you go” Ethan said and Darcy and Jason stepped onto the car. “Don’t let that cable car go yet” Eve said and rushed out.
Amy, Becky, Josh, Leo, Gem, Aaron, Lavender, Sunset and Crystal were admiring the views and sipping drinks and nibbling on snacks.

“Wonder why the doors aren’t closing yet?” Jason said. “Dunno” Darcy said as she got out a guide book. Eve Foster ran into the cable car. “Eve, what are you doing here?” Jason gasped. Darcy looped up from her book. “Eve, get the hell out of here, I don’t ever wish to see your snidey face again” Darcy said. Suddenly the doors shut and the cable car began moving. Eve banged on the door but Darcy snorted. “Looks like we’re stuck with you” Jason sighed.

“Be a shame to leave, won’t it?” Sunset said. “I look forward to going home though, see everyone” Crystal said. “Yeah, although I’ll definitely miss the lovely weather” Becky said. “Shame Rob and Rosanna never managed to join us” Aaron said. “Well they’re both busy with wedding stuff, might try and get an outfit before we leave, things are cheaper here” Lavender said. “Wait, when did this all happen?” Aaron smiled. “Only recently” Amy smirked. “Why does no one tell me these things” Aaron grinned.

“Damn it, no signal” Eve sighed. “Of course there isn’t, we’re about 2
00ft in the air” Darcy sighed. “The others are nearly at the highest point, Who are you so desperate to call anyway?” Jason asked. “Mind your own” Eve sneered. “Just ignore, we don’t need a luxury car, we have each other, this is lovely, such a lovely view” Darcy said. “Pass me a bucket” Eve snorted. Jason ignored her.

Ethan sat alone in the office; he checked his watch and started dialling a number on his phone. Jason crouched down on one knee; the students were still chatting and drinking whilst Eve sulked in the cable car. “Darcy Dixon, we’ve both had tricky times, but we found comfort in each other” Jason said, Darcy gushed and Eve looked at her watch. “Get back” Eve said. “Oh shut up Eve” Jason yelled. “Why?” Darcy asked.

Darcy, Jason and Eve stared on in horror as the luxury cable car drastically filled up with smoke, a bright orange light filled the car, the windows cracked, the door was just holding on, the car started spinning around, there was then a loud booming noise which was about heard despite the high-pitch scream of Amy, the students flew back as rubble flew into the air, Aaron, Becky and Sunset clattered into each other as Lavender and Amy fell to ground, Leo and Gem tried to regain their balance but failed. The smoke started to clear and Sunset screamed as she saw Crystal on the ground and a pile of blood next to her head and ran to her aid, Josh Murphy was faint and was sitting at the end of the cart, Leo started coughing and Lavender started breathing heavily. “What the hell just happened?” Aaron gasped. “No idea” Becky trembled. “Why aren’t we moving?” Gem shuddered. “Must be brakes or something” Leo said. Darcy, Jason and Eve’s carriage was still moving but suddenly stopped as it collided with the luxury carriage and gave it a small shudder.

Tiara and Christina sat in a cosy waiting with soft leather chairs and a mahogany table. “Mum’s really taking her time” Tiara said. “Oh well, at least the food’s good” Christina said. “Already shoved a bottle in my bag” Tiara said. “Mr and Mrs Waltz will see you now” Malcolm said. Two large doors opened up and Cordelia Waltz sat in a plump red leather chair around a wooden dinner table whilst Benedict Waltz sat in a fancy wooden chair. Tiara’s two sisters Chelsea and Cheska sat on their left side whilst Cheska’s fiancée Fabian sat opposite Cheksa. “How lovely to see you two, please sit down” Cordelia smiled. Chelsea smiled at Tiara who returned the greeting but Cheksa was focused on Fabian and her food.

“Stand back” Darcy yelled to Jason, Eve and the students. Darcy threw a wooden chair through their door and through the other carriage; the chair smashed both doors and fell into the lake. “Darcy, you’ve got to help us out of here” Sunset cried. “You’ve gotta jump” Darcy sighed. “But we could fall” Becky gasped. “I can’t see the brakes lasting long, you could still fall, and it’s not that far” Darcy said. Becky stepped back a few paces and ran into the carriage. “Oh god” Gem squealed. “You can do it Gem” Leo said. Gem ran into the carriage and was quickly followed Leo. The luxury carriage started swinging from side to side. Lavender stood by the door as the car swung around, Lavender tried to time her jump but only her hands made the car and was swinging her legs as the desperately tried to hold onto the carriage. Lavender started squealing until Jason and Leo pulled her into the carriage. Aaron expertly jumped into the carriage and comforted his shaken sister.

“So what is it you would like?” Cordelia asked. “Well we’re kinda broke back in Oakside Square so we thought about starting a business, there’s an empty garage which we thought about turning it into a groovy milkshake, smoothie and sandwich cafe” Tiara said. “Have you got a business plan?” Cheksa asked. “No we don’t” Christina awkwardly said. “Well perhaps come back when you have a well constructed business plan” Benedict said. “We can’t afford to come back, we have a flight tomorrow afternoon” Tiara said. “Show them out Malcolm” Cordelia said. “All that waiting for nothing” Christina muttered to Tiara. Tiara and Christina were escorted out. “Just give it to them, they are your daughters” Chelsea said. “They do not belong in the world of business” Cordelia said. “Do you remember what happened when we sorted out the new garden? Do you remember the charity party and how you said you’d donate a large sum to charity as well as the guest’s donations? Whatever happened to that?” Chelsea said. Benedict and Cordelia looked at each other. “I think you should give it to them” Fabian said. Cheska glared at Fabian but then nodded. “If you’re not gonna donate to charity then donate it to Tiara and Christina, they’ve worked hard since you cut them off and they deserve every penny” Chelsea said.

“Jump Amy” Becky screamed. “It’s gonna fall” Aaron said. “Don’t say that Aaron” Lavender yelled. “Let’s get up Josh” Amy said softly. “Wake up Crystal, please wake up” Sunset begged as she hugged Crystal. “Is she okay?” Darcy asked. Sunset broke out into a loud round of tears and cried “She’s not breathing”. Sunset then gulped and said “I think she’s dead” Sunset shuddered. “Keep calm, Sunset” Darcy said. Sunset tried to keep calm as Amy helped her carry Crystal’s body to the other carriage. “Come on Sunset, stay strong” Amy said. “Come on Amy” Becky yelled. “Just gotta help Josh up, he should be fine, he’s just a bit weak” Amy said. “I can see a rescue helicopter” Gem said. “Come on Josh, let’s get up” Amy said as she put her head under his elbow. Amy heard a creaking noise and a second later the cable snapped and the carriage plummeted into the lake below. A ball of water rose from the lake as the student s back away.

The fallen carriage started sinking into the lake, Amy used a slightly battered table from the car to block the door and prevent at least a bit of water from flooding the carriage. “Wake up Josh, wake up and everything will be okay” Amy said. “Amy” Josh said weakly. “Josh, speak to me” Amy screeched.

“This carriage is weak” Leo noted. “It’s only supposed to carry 8 passengers, there’s 10 of us, I think we’ll be fine with nine though” Lavender said. “Well someone throw the body out then” Eve sighed. “No, we can’t do that” Darcy said. “Then what?” Eve said. “Oh I know exactly whose going out” Sunset said as she confidently spoke. Sunset grabbed Eve and bundled her towards the door. “No” Darcy yelled and tried to restrain Sunset. The three women wrestled and tried to grab one another, the cable car had a slight jaunt and Darcy and Eve were sent toppling out of the car and into the icy lake.

‘Stay With Me’ played as the carriage continued to fill up with water. “Just keep looking at me Josh, help is on its way, just keep looking, keep speaking, think of Poppy, you can’t leave her Josh, you can’t, stay, stay, come on Josh” Amy cried as she hugged and sobbed over Josh’s lifeless body.

Lavender, Aaron, Becky, Gem, Leo, Sunset and Jason stepped out of a helicopter and on a dock facing the lake. Crystal’s dead body was carried out as Jason gasped with delight as he saw Darcy swim up to the edge of the dock. “You survived” Jason beamed. “Eve cushioned my fall, although I don’t think she survived, it was...messy” Darcy shuddered. “She caused all of this” Jason sighed. “You still go that ring?” Darcy asked as Jason opened up the box. “Let’s do it, let’s get married” Darcy smiled. Aaron hugged Lavender and Becky as Leo hugged Gem as Amy was escorted out of the lake on a boat and Josh’s body was carried out. Amy’s face was frozen with tears and Becky escorted Amy inside. The camera panned up from the lake as Eve’s body was recovered from the services. The students were all shaken and scared and life would never be the same for any of them again.

Amy Murphy sat in Relax & Retreat spa where she was drinking a mug of coffee. Christina Waltz walked in and put her hand on Amy’s shoulder. “Amy, are you ready?” Christina asked. “Ready as I’ll ever be” Amy sighed. “Everything is ready in the pub and the chapel” Christina said. “Okay, never got to ask you, how was your trip?” Amy asked. “Useless, waited for hours but got nothing, but today’s about you Amy, Martha’s going to sit with Poppy for the service and look after her and I’ll keep this place running” Christina said. “Cheers” Amy smiled and then dabbed her eyes.

Diane Longstaff was standing with Constable Carson Scott outside the court. “How are you feeling?” Carson asked. “Bit nervous, but I can’t give Adam any satisfaction, can I?” Diane said. “You are not to blame for anything, just focus on yourself and just say the truth” Carson said. “Yeah” Diane nodded. “Are Martha, Chris and Dolly not coming?” Carson asked. “Chris is trying to swap shifts at the gym but Martha and Dolly are going to Josh’s funeral” Diane said. “Well I’ll be here” Carson said. Diane checked her watch. “It’s time, I can’t believe that arse change his plea” Diane said.

Tess Noble was sitting with Gavin Noble outside the bowling alley. “What is it you want, Tess? I’m supposed to be at the funeral, poor Josh, very bright kid, had a great future ahead of him” Gavin sighed. “Just come inside” Tess said and led Gavin inside. Tess turned on the light and smiled. “What is it?” Gavin asked. “Well the previous owner didn’t last very long, Adam Finch, well he’s in prison so this place went on the market, Adam sold it at a rather cheap price to raise fast cash so I thought I’d buy it” Tess smiled. “It looks great” Gavin smiled. “I thought I could renovate it a bit, I did that interior design course at uni and I thought I upscale this place a bit, make it a bit more luxurious, I’ve got some designs, come and see” Tess smiled as she led Gavin to an office. “I felt like it was time to be passionate about something, hopefully Lavender and Aaron could do shifts when it gets busy” Tess said. “It should be great” Gavin said and gave his wife a kiss.

The chapel was nearly full with guests including the surviving students, Rob, Rosanna, Martha, Dolly, Ena, Frank, Hilda, Sky, Tiara, Christina, Jason, Ashley, Bruce, Ruby, Honey and Savannah. Amy stepped up to a lectern and began the eulogy. “I can’t remember a time in my life when Josh wasn’t by my side, there was always something between us, there was always a spark but it lit too late. We spent our life in Oakside Square and it would have been our future with Poppy, I don’t know how I’ll live without Josh, I don’t think I’ll ever love someone again, Josh was my one true love, Josh might not have been perfect but he was perfect for me, he didn’t give a damn that Poppy wasn’t his kid as our love was too strong for anyone to get in the way, Josh will leave a whole in many people’s lives and will leave a huge whole in our town, the past few months have damaged our town and we need to work together to repair the cracks and stay strong cause nothing will tear us apart again, we need to sort this town so kids like Poppy won’t suffer what we’ve been though” Amy said, after a few seconds Amy burst into tears and Becky escorted her off.

Diane Longstaff stood in court. “Diane, please explain what happened of the night when you claim Adam Finch assaulted you” Adam’s defense lawyer said. “I walked into the ladies toilet, I told Adam it was ladies only and then...and then he bundled me into the toilet cubicle and started undressing” Diane said whilst trying to fight off tears. “Why didn’t you do anything?” The defense lawyer said. “I couldn’t, I just froze, I couldn’t fight, I mean I couldn’t hardly think, it was so quick, please, please don’t make me say anymore” Diane said and gulped and then started to cry. “ Diane, are you alright?” The judge said. “Fine” Diane cried as she wiped her eyes on her sleeve. “I went to the police, I reported it as soon as I could think straight and focus, I spoke to Constable Carson Scott” Diane said. “You’ve had quite a close connection with Constable Scott haven’t you? Is there something more? Something romantic?” The lawyer said. “No, not at all, I can’t think straight, look, you have Sunset and Christina’s statements, just lock him up, I have nothing to gain from lying and I can’t see what you have to gain my defending a pathetic rapist” Diane screamed at the defense lawyer. “Calm down” The lawyer said.

Leo, Becky, Gem, Lavender, Rosanna and Rob sat around a table in The Oak Barn. “Can’t wait to get back to Candy Swirl” Leo said. “Feels odd being back considering everything that happened” Becky said. “Feels scary, it could have been any of you instead of Josh” Rob said. “Rachel said that Eve and Ethan were working together on it, Eve really wanted Darcy dead” Lavender said. “We should try and talk about something else” Leo sighed. “Mum’s brought the bowling alley” Aaron beamed as he sat down. “Seriously?” Lavender smirked. “Yeah, going over later to see it, bout time we all made this village the nice place it used to be” Aaron said.

Diane was trembling as the judge asked for the verdict. “What have the jury decided?” The judge asked. “Guilty” A juror said. Diane broke into an ear to ear grin as Adam sneered at her. Adam was escorted away as Diane smiled at the jury.

Ruby, Ashley, Jason and Honey were in Candy Swirl. Savannah and Charlie walked over to them. “How are things?” Savannah asked. “Alright” Ashley said. “How’s Amber?” Charlie asked. “Doing well” Charlie sighed. “Can I get you a drink?” Savannah asked. “We’re alright” Honey said. “Did you want anything?” Jason asked. “Nothing really” Savannah said. “Well clear off then” Jason said loudly. “I actually thought we could get along, I guess I was wrong” Charlie sighed. “I can’t help but think back to a year ago when everything was perfect” Jason said. “Nothing it ever perfect Jason, you were young, immature and naive, Hannah was shagging Ricky and neither of us knew” Savannah snorted. “Everything felt perfect, I was in love, I was with my siblings and around a loving family” Jason said.

“My sister was dead, it was hardly perfect, I was having to pretend you were my son and let you grieve for who you thought was your mother” Savannah said. “Well maybe everything would have been different if you never kept it from me” Jason yelled. “Shut up for one second and listen to your mother, Ricky and Hannah were sleeping together but they’ve both gone but you’re so angry and you are trying to take it out on me and I’ve had enough, I’ve had it with you Jason, nothing was perfect so it’s times to stop pretending it was perfect when you know deep down it wasn’t” Savannah said. “I don’t want you in my family” Jason said. “Jennifer would be appalled to see her nephew like this, I can’t believe this is what I get for a son” Savannah shrieked. “If you don’t stay away then I’ll make sure you stay away, I’ll...I’ll report you for killing Hannah” Jason said. “Don’t go there Jason” Ruby sighed. “I guess none of you want me, so I’ll save you the trouble Jason, I’ll hand myself in, I’ll confess to killing Hannah” Savannah sobbed.

Opening Titles

Birds tweeted and the wind rustled as Frank Green stepped out of The Oak Barn and pinned a giant red sign saying “BON VOYAGE”. Ena popped out of the barn and smiled at Frank. “Tonight’s going to be great” Ena smiled. “Rob and Rosanna deserve some happiness” Frank smiled. Betty the dog ran out of the pub and leaped into the arms of Ena. “Aww, you’re getting big, I’ll take you for walkies late. We have a busy day ahead of us” Ena beamed. “Remember last time we had a big red banner, was the reopening of the pub wasn’t it” Frank said. “Yeah, we talked about getting the basement turned into a lounge, can’t believe I managed to hide the body there for years, I feel even worse for letting Jennifer go down for it” Ena said. “Well what’s done is done, it’s all in the past” Frank smiled and kissed Ena.

Martha, Dolly, Chris, Diane, Tom and Tyler were sitting round a table in the living room and were playing cludeo. “Right Dolly, I think it was Miss Scarlet with the candlestick in the ballroom” Chris said and Dolly slid him a card. “Rubbish set of cards, getting nowhere” Chris sighed. “Your go Tyler” Tom said. “I’m gonna make an accusation” Tyler said as he picked up the envelope. “Correct, Reverend Green with the revolver in the hall” Tyler smirked and threw the cards onto the table. “How the hell did you get that?” Martha gasped. “By being observant, you learn a lot by sitting around and listening” Tyler said as Diane went to answer the door after the doorbell rung. “I guess your right” Dolly smirked and Alice McKenzie walked into the room.

Hilda Davies and Becky Davies were chatting in a busy Becky’s Boutique. “Very busy today” Hilda said. “Yeah, guess it’s all the publicity” Becky said. “What do you mean?” Hilda said. “Well what other town do you get three pensioner murders, a headmaster with a gambling problem, find out your friend or cousin is your brother or live along someone as crazy as Tiara Waltz” Becky smirked. “I guess your right” Hilda smiled as Taylor Banks walked in. “Hey” Taylor nodded. “Hey....did you erm want something?” Becky stammered. “Yeah, yeah I did” Taylor said. Taylor grabbed Becky by her cheek and kissed her lips and broke apart six seconds later. “I heard about the cable car crash, my heart missed a beat when I found out you were involved, I couldn’t bear the thought of never seeing you again” Taylor said. “When I was about to leap, I couldn’t stop thinking about you, I couldn’t stop thinking about never seeing you again, there were so many things I’d never told you” Becky said. “Well perhaps we could discuss them some time over dinner, my treat” Taylor said. “I’d like that” Becky smiled as she twiddled her hair. “I’ll stay away this time, last boyfriend was a monster, look after her, although I do wonder what Scott’s doing now” Hilda said and walked off and Becky and Taylor kissed again.

Amy Trent was sitting in the Relax & Retreat waiting room with her siblings Chloe and Eddie. “How are things then?” Chloe said. “Better, bit better” Amy said. “Do you think you’ll ever love another guy again?” Eddie asked. “I dunno, I dunno Eddie, love is the last thing on my mind, but I guess, I guess after time, maybe, maybe I’ll fall in love again, but I don’t know, for the time being, I really don’t know” Amy sighed.

Leo Hatter sat in a prison waiting room. Damien Dickinson strutted up to him. Damien had greasy hair and a fresh cut on his face. “Wondered if I’d ever see you again” Damien sneered. “Still arrogant, I guess something’s never change” Leo said. “What did you want?” Damien asked. “I need to leave the past behind me, Oakside Square is a happier place, it’s the happiest it’s been in years, you scared the crap out of me but that’s all behind me, all gone, you’re stuck here and I’ll never see you again, don’t even think about returning cause it’ll be the worst thing you could ever do” Leo said and walked off before Damien could speak.

Gem Hatter and Mary Dickinson sat in Little Haven. “Leo’s seeing Damien” Mary said. “Never told me” Gem gasped. “He said he didn’t want you to talk him out of it, I told him to be careful but Leo had already made up his mind, he’ll be fine though” Mary said. “Are you fine thought? Your only son has gone, things must get dull after a while” Gem said. “Well I’ve got you lot and it never gets dull in this town” Mary smiled.

“Hello Alice” Chris said. “I’ve had a long, hard think, Tyler, you can stay here, I’m not taking you anywhere unless you want to, I’ve got a flat sorted so you can still see me whenever you want, we can work this out” Alice smiled and turned away. “Alice, we’ve just set up jenga, do you wanna join?” Chris asked. “Why not, oh and well done with the court chaos, Diane.” Alice smiled and sat down.

Darcy Dixon and Jason Knight sat in Darcy’s B&B. “Can’t believe you said all that” Darcy said after Jason explained what happened a few nights ago. “I just blurted it out, I had no intention of reporting Savannah, but she seemed serious, I think she might actually confess” Jason sighed as Darcy looked at her phone. “Jason, Savannah texted me, she says to turn on your phone” Darcy said and Jason turned his phone on and answered a call. After ten seconds Jason heard a bleep and put the phone down. “Savannah’s outside the station, she just wanted to say goodbye” Jason said. “Go Jason, go and stop her” Darcy said.

Tiara and Christina were standing outside the old garage. The windows were boarded up. “So who sent you the text to wait outside here?” Christina asked. “Some anonymous number” Tiara said. “How safe” Christina smirked. The door swung open and Chelsea Waltz stood in the doorway. “Chelsea, what are you doing here?” Tiara gasped. “Come inside” Chelsea smiled. Tiara and Christina stepped into the old garage. The place had a wooden floor with old wooden chairs with soft cushions; there was a shiny counter with stacks of sandwiches and milkshakes. Cheska, Cordelia, Benedict Waltz and Cheska’s fiancée, Fabian were sitting on chairs. “This place looks amazing” Tiara gasped. “It’s all yours” Cordelia smiled. “Wow, what made you change your mind?” Tiara asked. “Your two lovely sisters, we’ve come to stay and we can make this a proper family business, we haven’t named this place yet, did you have any ideas?” Cordelia asked. “The Yard” Tiara smirked. “Why?” Benedict asked. “Cause my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard” Tiara smiled.

Dolly pulled a jenga block and the tower fell onto the table. “Ah” Dolly sighed. Bruce Pooch walked into the living room with his dog Paw. “Hello Bruce” Dolly smiled. “Haven’t seen you for a while” Bruce said. “Been busy” Dolly said as she stroked Paw. “I asked Bruce to join us, thought all of us could spend some time together before we go to the bon voyage party” Martha smiled.

Savannah Longstaff was walking into the prison, Jason came running after her. “Wait Savannah, please mum, don’t do this” Jason yelled. Savannah wiped away years and hugged Jason. “Please don’t go, I’ve lost one mum, I don’t wanna lose another” Jason joked. “I love you Jason, I’ll always be here to support you” Savannah smiled. “We’re a family, together forever, perhaps this can be our perfect family” Jason smiled.

Sky White sat by the lake with DCI Justin Barker. “Laid some flowers on Lacey’s grave earlier” DCI Barker said. “She’s resting now, she can rest in peace, she’s no longer suffering, she’s watching down on us, I love my little girl, I always will and I will always remember my girl who was snatched away far, far too soon” Sky smiled and kissed DCI Barker.

The Noble family including Goofy the dog were chatting in Strike! “Buckletree Close has done well in its first week of sales” Lavender said. “Glad to hear, I think that’s all the work done, we can get an early drink before we go to the party” Tess said. “I’m proud of you sis, I don’t often say that but I am, I’m proud of you” Aaron smiled and hugged his sister. “To new beginnings” Gavin smiled as he handed Lavender and Aaron a glass. “To new beginnings” The four chanted.

Sunset Bennett was sitting in the bar in The Oak Barn. “Do you need a hand with anything?” Sunset asked. “Everything is under control, you just sit back and enjoy the party” Ena smiled. “Alright then, should be a fun night, can’t remember the last time I had fun” Sunset said. “Crazy how quickly life can change, but you can’t let it hold you back, one minute you have Crystal and minutes later she’s grabbed from this world, anything can happen and you can’t always stop it, you’ve just gotta live every second and enjoy every minute” Ena smiled.

Beverly and Declan Reid were entering The Oak Barn. “Are Rob & Rosanna here yet?” Beverly asked. “Not yet” Frank said. “Great turnout” Declan said. “I guess people could do with a party after the past few months, I must say, I admire the way you haven’t let being a chair hold you back, you’ve just continued with life like you don’t give a damn” Frank smiled.

Doctor Arthur Barnes was chatting with nurse Danielle Prescott and Constable Carson Scott. “Rob and Rosanna are good people, aren’t they” Arthur smiled. Penelope Clark walked up to them. “Hey, not writing anything, just here to have fun, celebrate a bit of community atmosphere” Penelope said. “Seems like the most sensible thing you’ve done for years” Danielle said. “Rob and Rosanna are coming” Carson said.

Rob and Rosanna stepped out of a car and smiled at a boat which was covered in balloons, bunting and a large banner. Rob and Rosanna walked into the pub to cheers, Stefan, Hayley, George and Stacey Barton were among the large crowd which consisted of all of the villagers. “Hey” Hayley smiled and hugged Rosanna. “Thought we’d come down, been a while since I saw this place” Stefan said. “So much has changed” Stacey said. “Life can change in any second, one minute Stacey could walk, the next she was paralysed, guess that’s the way things work out” George said. “Ready?” Rob smiled. “Ready as I’ll ever be” Rosanna beamed.

Rob and Rosanna had finished greeting the guests and stepped onto the boat. The camera cut to a shot of all the villagers cheering and applauding outside The Oak Barn. The camera cut to Betty, Goofy and Paw chasing each other inside the pub. The camera cut to a quiet Relax & Retreat spa and then to an empty Little Haven. The next shot was a dark Total Fitness gym and then to a deserted Becky’s Boutique. After cutting to a shot of Darcy’s B&B the camera cut to an isolated Oakside Echo. The screen faded to Candy Swirl and then to the Waltzes new shop. The camera cut to a quiet Strike! and then to Pooch’s Paw which was also isolated. The camera then cut to an empty Oakside Library and then cut to another shot of the boat.

The camera panned up from the boat and towards the bright sky. Voices could be heard as the camera faded away from the square.

Ena: Oakside Square taught me that love occurs in many forms.
Chris: Life on Oakside Square made me stronger and to never give up no matter what.
Becky: Oakside Square told me that a mother is something we should cherish forever.
Amy: Life on Oakside Square told me to never give up on love.
Rob: Oakside Square told me that despite being depressed, things can get better.
Tiara: Life on Oakside Square made me realise that money doesn’t define a person, there are more important things.
Jason: Oakside Square told me that nothing is worth sacrificing your family for.
Sky: Life on Oakside Square told me that a mother’s love for their daughter is stronger than anything else.
Gavin: Oakside Square taught me that any addiction can be beaten.
Aaron: Life on Oakside Square taught me that a siblings love is crazy yet deeper than we ever realise.
Lavender: Oakside Square taught me to always stick for what you believe in.
Leo: Oakside Square is a crazy yet wonderful place, it taught me to never allow anyone to be judged by their sexuality, gender, race, religion, ethnicity or anything. We are all human and should support one another. Oakside Square taught me not to give into bullies and be your own person. Oakside Square has been a wonderful adventure but it’s time to say goodbye.
