Was so noticeable and many friends commented on it tonight!! Certainly muted response for fwhat proved to be the 'joint top' dance tonight. Was really surprised!

Only standing ovation seemed to be the seated section behind the camera...

Well obviously the audience didn't think it worthy of a standing ovation.

I thought she got a great reaction.

I noticed yes. I think it was because they were a bit stunned which was my reaction to the dance. It was very underwhelming. Before I get bashed I love Natalie & thought it would be amazing but it wasn't & I was a bit in shock. I did notice how muted the audience response was. I am wondering if she will be in the dance off.

It was hard though after the big high of Carmen, and the Paso, and that big sheety* thing at the end, and Kevin from Grimsby to pull back the audience with a clever, offhand Charleston.

* ie the sheet that the extras pulled overhead across the whole floor. I'm not swearing in Mexican

Maybe they hadn't had time to recover from Sue & Kev's crowd-pleasing number.

Maybe she suffered from directly following Susanna & Kevin? Their dance was clearly the biggest crowd pleaser of the night amongst the live audince. I'm a Natalie fan but her Charleston probably didn't wow as much as people were expecting (although she was still the best celeb dancer on the night imo). Her best dances are still to come.

Yes, we noticed.

Yes it may have just been a case of the audience coming back down after the drama of the paso and the sheet, and nothing to do personally with Natalie and Artem, but I think the reaction was definitely muted.

The music was terrible and that probably contributed to the lack of applause. I thought the dance was good but it just did not connect with the the musicfoe me

Natalie was pretty dreadful tonight, compared to some of the others.

I think the auience were expecting more lifts and gimmicks. The choreography was a bit underwhelming, especially after the Paso and the music was terrible. Natalie was undoubtedly better than Susanna though. Susanna didn't actually do much - the music created the drama.

She wasn't dreadful but the music wasn't a crowd pleaser like Bizet which they had to follow. Sue and Kev may be two huge sides of ham but they clearly got the audience. Artem should have gone against his personal taste and done a all out trad dance to a fun 20s song. Cool and hip hop doesn't work in Blackpool. Don't think it would have gone great in Elstree either though.

For a charleston is was really lacking in charm, fun and humour. I think Artem got it totally wrong as did the hair and make up people. Natalie is a smashing looking girl, but I thought her look was very unflattering tonight.

Didn't someone do Charleston on DWTS to the same music?

Yes I think it was something to do with that, they couldn't really compete with the drama of the previous dance. Also the music was awful, not the kind of song to make a crowd really enthusiastic.

Artem isn't really the perfect choreographer for the Blackpool crowd is he? But I love that he stays true to his artistic principles, I would have been disappointed if he felt the urge to pander to a specific audience. He's fresh and interesting and creative and innovative. There's not enough of that on Strictly so we can't have Artem dumbing down.
