Problem unlocking iphone 4
As title-Just checking I've done everything right before contacting orange and ranting. 45 days after my sis in law requested orange unlock her iphone 4, ive backed up through iTunes, upgraded to ios7, restored, them restored again as per instructions I've found online, but still not unlocked! Have I missed anything?

All I'm going to say is Orange and unlocking iphone don't go together in the same sentence!
A couple of years ago I asked them on the phone if I could unlock an iphone, they said they don't do it on the phone I'd have to go into a store. When I got to the store " sorry we don't unlock iPhones". After abit of cussing and searching online I found others had the same problem, they just wouldn't do it. Never did get it unlocked |

I started the unlock process with Orange for my iPhone 4S on the 4th of October. We are now on day 43 after 3 phone calls and it's still not unlocked! They did take the payment for it yesterday so I'm hopeful that something will happen soon......... Not holding my breath tho!

What on earth is Orange problem anyway, why is it so hard for them to unlock an iphone? And if they REALLY can't for whatever reason then why can't they just be frank and tell us why, then maybe it wouldn't waste everyone's time trying to get a phone unlocked?
And also just to add I read somewhere that phone company's cannot refuse to unlock a phone(providing it is their phone etc) how true that is I don't know? The guy above says they've taken money for said unlock on his iphone, that's very interesting, especially seeing as an unlock doesn't normally take any longer than 3-4 days. 43? That's ridiculous, you could travel to Apple head quarters in USA and have it personally unlocked in less time. I'd be back on the phone "look you've taken my money 43 days ago, why isn't my phone unlocked?" Let them know it's not on and your not waiting any longer. If that doesn't work tell them to shove it and your moving networks etc. You could actually sell the phone and get a unlocked version, I know it will cost you but it would be easier and quicker, that's what I did years ago when Orange refused to unlock mine. |

I've already moved networks but kept the iPhone as pay as you go on Orange to keep Orange Wednesdays. They took payment two days ago so hopefully things are finally moving. It's been a long story of complete incompetence by Orange....nothing new there! I tried my 3 sim in it this morning but still no joy
