I think most opinions that are worth anything have some base, and can be discussed. Unpleasant baseless comments are the stuff of Youtube, and do exist.

If you've got an opinion, shouldn't be too much of a problem to argue it, if you can't, be prepared to be challenged anyway.

That's what discussion threads are.

There are comment threads mind, and they're fine.

And Appreciation threads in the wrong place, I grant you.

Sophie was cursed 30 years ago by an evil ice queen, meaning that she can only do cool, emotionless performances and the ice queen's reindeer got in a bit of a shot too so that she occasionally looks a bit bambiesque.

Susanna's fake tan is being absorbed by her bloodstream and infiltrating her brain meaning that nothing she does can be taken seriously although it is all finished to an extremely high quality.

Abbey has realityshowitis which makes her neerrves hypersensitive and her voice hyperscouse.

It's just my opinion. It's based on sod all and it's worth even less.”

Yes exactly. I'd worry for your mental health, but if that really was your opinion I would respect it.

Respect which is very much lacking on here...

Was I unpleasant? Didn't mean to be. It's simply that I think it's possible to be too categorical about things. On this forum it is possible to read thoughts and feelings that you disagree with or even oppose without having to crush the person who wrote them. People are interesting. Some of them!

I think... So that's just your opinion? You may think that they should have some base, or evidence to back them up, but again that is just your opinion.

I'm all for genuine discussion, but when others in the discussion don't accept there could be an alternate view, it is extremely hard to have a valued discussion.

Especially when insults are added into the mix, which I know I got drawn into.

Of course you weren't Pet

And of course it's possible to disagree, I do with many on here, and agree with many too.

Sometimes agree with one on one thing and disagree completely on another.

There's only a need to be brutally straightforward when there is massive horseshit flying around, in MY OPINION, of course

Which now has to be 'respected', apparantly.

Sey, yes it was, and I waded in - I apologise for that, it is frustrating sometimes and we all get a bit heated - me no less than anyone.

Whilst I don't respect all opinion (bloody Tory bastards attitudes to the poor - case in point) it's not worth a massive row.

So, pace m'dear.

It's only flamin' STRICTLY after all.

Noo! I've already hinted about my synaesthetic brain. Now I'm smelling horse shit

Glad we're OK anyway. Thought I'd trodden on your toe in my support of mushy, confused human scribble.

It is really interesting how we (posters) can agree on some things and be on entirely the different page for others. I notice that with your posts, for example, with many people's... But that's good. Shows we're not simply treading a party line.

Stop it, Pet! I am presently munching some shortbread biscuits just off the oven one hour ago!

Not at all silly.

I post a lot on GD and it's a different and much harder 'style', I suppose.

Not got my fluffy Strictly slippers on yet. But I've never been cross with you. And I don't usually remember who I was cross with from one thread to the next anyway.

Say your conscience tells you 'no' but your body says 'yes'. Or your brain wants one thing and your instincts guide you in another direction. Or your best friend, the one you love best, thinks one really important thing and you pretend to believe it too... Or your public duty conflicts with your private life...

All that stuff that you try not to keep in your mind but that eats at you... AHHHH, it is gorgeous and useful (in a terrifying, floor-destroying, ghastly way)! IMO

ETA, you already got it...

No worries I've already had an interchange with Sey about it.

Positive I hope. Although I suspect we could both argue till doomsday about 'respect' for opinion.

Exactly I guess it shows we care...

Shortbread biscuits just one hour out of the oven... Some kind of heaven (despite the lingering aroma of Rhumbatugger's flying horse poo...)

So,Natalie has a serious back problem.....probably caused by all those knives stuck in it.

All makes perfect sense to me.

Someone has to provide the phone service, and they will quite rightly expect to be able to charge a commercial rate for that service.

And yes, I think that it is indeed BT.
